Chapter 501 He is back
Chapter 501 He is back
The Universe was not ready.
It truly was not, for the return of the Vaelgrim was an event enough to shake it to its deepest core – and never recover from it ever again.
Before their official arrival, everything was happening as it was supposed to be.
Inside the Drought Mana Place of the Universe, Leah was slowly rotating on itself, peaceful and unbothered.
Inside of it, Premier had already woken up, now discussing with his sister, giving a side glance to the Dreamspawn standing behind Foxy. Discussions were unfolding in a seamless manner.
“So I have new siblings now.” Premier said, his eyes steadier and calmer. There was no longer that unmistakable hunger for glory.
There was only mercy and end.
“Three more, at that.” He added softly, “And they are all Origins.”
He suppressed a laugh, shook his head, wondering why he was even surprised by whatever his father did now.
“I expected you to be more enthusiastic.” Foxy remarked, “You will be able to play your firstborn role now fully. They are quite obedient, at that. Ah, except Fated. She is a little rude, but understands her.”
“I am certainly happy.” Premier nodded, “The more the merrier.” He laughed, “I think it’s father’s core philosophy.”
“Are you talking about his tendency of gaining more wives every time?” She chuckled, “I personally like having so many mothers. I am spoiled all the time.”
“So am I,” he said, “I miss mother Shadeva, especially. Sigh, I
remember the days she was educating me back in that Laeh. How long ago was that? Time sure flies. It felt like yesterday, yet it was thousands of years ago.”
“Now we are grown.” She nodded, “You have become something father would be proud of, don’t you think?”
Premier smiled faintly, “I certainly hope so.” He finally looked at the woman Dreamspawn standing behind Foxy, “And you, too, sister. Aren’t you incredible? What do they call you now? The Queen of Dreams?”
He chuckled, and Foxy’s face cringed in embarrassment.
“I did not and do not and will not accept that epithet.”
The Dreamspawn behind shook, clearly wishing to speak but not wanting to disrespect her Queen.
“Why not?” Premier shrugged, “It’s a good one. Epithet comes with a certain kind of power and renown.”
“And burden and consequences.” Foxy added, face serious, “I know that much by now. Father taught me that well enough. I do not want to accept something I have no knowledge of.”
“Fair enough.” He said, nodding faintly.
A comfortable silence settled between them then, but soon was broken by a question,
“Father and mothers are not dead, you know?” Foxy said.
“I do.”
“They will come back.”
“Certainly.”
“Are you ready for that?”
Premier paused, then bared his teeth into a wild grin, “Oh, more than -!”
Right at that moment, Premier and Foxy all stood up from their
chairs, their heads snapping upward, sensing something that made their souls shiver.
“This…this…” the Dreamspawn stammered.
The two siblings only grinned wider,
“Oh….”
Their eyes glowed,
“He is back.”
It was not only Premier and Foxy who sensed it.
Inside the depths of the Celestial Faction, Rue Octave just finished his meeting with Law, delivering falsehoods worthy of a Primordial in a way Law herself didn’t catch.
He also didn’t forget reporting the death of his friend, Castria, telling Law how he had killed all his elven servants and surely received retribution from one of the higher-ups of Elves.
It was believable, considering the nature of the elves. Especially their newfound boldness after being under the wing of Esmeray, Primordial
of Dragons.
They had regained their arrogance and even went a notch higher.
There were rumors circulating about the inclusion of Elves into the dragon factions. At that, a whole new face would be born inside their
midst.
One made up of the best qualities of elves and dragons alike. That… that was a thing none wished to see happen.
Something, Law guessed, would benefit greatly Esmeray. Her station itself might be elevated to a whole new degree.
Taking all that into account, even if Castria was not killed by the elves;
even if he was a being Law couldn’t care less about… the Celestial would use that as an excuse to attack the dragons and elves. And certainly bring others into the chaos.
Law didn’t care about the fate of the universe if she provoked such a thing. She no, they had a much bigger thing to catch.
A thing that would be easier to catch when the universe was on its
last leg.
She knew. They knew. They all fucking knew.
So she would definitely act…just like how Rue Octave expected.
The seeds had now been planted, and Rue Octave watched visibly how his station was being softly altered in a way he never thought
possible.
The most disheartening thing of all that was the fact he personally did nothing of that. Aurelia was doing everything, manipulating Law so subtly the woman thought she was the one manipulating.
It was at that instant that Rue realized that his body and talents were
never the problem for why he was stuck behind Soleil for so long.
No. It was his mindset.
It was that thing that pulled him down, making him act foolishly and
cowardly.
At that moment, his last bit of self-confidence was being cracked away, transmutating into smouldering ashes.
However, he didn’t have the time to feel such pain as a phenomenal presence erupted all over the universe.
He – they all froze, snapping their heads upward, feeling their souls wishing to bow without even knowing why.
He felt a sense of dread riding his soul, yet there was also a sense of profound happiness. He only realized seconds later that it was not his own feeling.
It was the feelings of Aurelia, and Rue Octave heard the whispered
words that came out from the depth of her love,
“He is ack.”
Rue Octave broke down, and cried, feeling the approach of doom.
…
On the other side of the universe, inside Hell itself, Asaemon and Asmodeus were sitting face to face, with Hell smiling sinisterly between them.
The discussion that was unfolding was clearly unpleasant, judging by
the hard expressions on both men’s faces.
Asmodeus was more angry than anything, looking at Hell with eyes
that could literally kill.
Asaemon, meanwhile, had the expression of a Lost Soul. A being who no longer knew where to walk and how to walk.
It felt like his own purpose had been overwritten – swallowed – by
something else.
However, all of that ended abruptly, and his eyes went wide as the presence of something wrapped all around them.
Hell trembled, whimpering. Asmodeus frowned, looking overhead. Asaemon was confused for a moment, but then managed a wide
beaming smile. The first smile since the death of his brother.
And today he smiled again, for…
“He is back.”
Just at that instant, all over the universe, the words of The Records
echoed deeply in each corner of it, rattling the bones and souls of all. For the first time, everyone was able to feel the emotions behind their words, and that made the next sentence even more harrowing,
{The Vaelgrim has returned from the dead.}
The Universe shook. But it was not over. Oh…very far from that.
{He…has returned from the dead. And within his grasp is the Throne of the Dead and Souls.}
They paused, and the universe was shaking like a living thing. For an instant, they felt like the universe was tilting…as if…it was bowing? They felt a terror gripping their insides like a ball. And the weakest of
them bowed.
{Praise The Prince – The Child of Reality, and Owner of the Spirit
World of Primus.}
A tear opened in the universe, and a man stepped out.
