The Conquerors Path

Chapter 963 - 961-Little Devil.

Chapter 963: Chapter 961-Little Devil.

’She’s a lot more dangerous than I thought.’

My mind ran through different levels as I looked at Elda, who is just relaxing on my lap with a smile, her situation itself being quite different yet the same from what had happened with the other girls, but I had never thought more towards the fact of how dangerous and ruthless this sweet-looking little sister of mine could really become.

...

Third Person POV:

The friends had all gathered together to watch. Nyla herself had booked the place as Nyla, Elda, Nathalia, and even Lanora all sat together to watch the match that was about to begin—the atmosphere was hot, the crowds were screaming, and right now Elda’s mind was focused more towards the information she knew now.

Nathalia likes her brother, and while that makes her want to reach and pull out the hair of her best friend, she holds herself back for now. She didn’t want to destroy the friendship they had; furthermore, her brother was already hers, and she didn’t have any inclination to create a fight with someone that doesn’t even have 1% of the loving relationship she has with her brother.

So there is no need for any jealousy.

That’s what Elda kept telling herself, her mind just trying to focus on the match when Lanora asked with a worried voice.

"Will Austin be all right?"

To her words, Elda smiled.

"Don’t worry, my big brother won’t do anything, he isn’t sure he will come out on top."

Her words made the girls smile as Lanora replied.

"That’s true, he has that certain charm to him...."

The end of her words sounded a bit more pronounced. While that happened, Nathalia was feeling quite self-conscious as she gazed at Elda, she wanted to start the whole talk and let everyone know, but for some reason, Elda seemed to be in a more evasive mood of evading her. They hadn’t, in a sense, got any free private time with just themselves; it was always the group.

Nyla, in the sense, was the most calm among all of them, but the same obsession and desire was still in her eyes as she sat there watching the match with the same respect, reverence, and desire of obsession in her mind.

Just as Elda was calming herself down, Austin walked to the stage in all his glory, and seeing that even Elda held her breath tighter, her body got hotter, and she felt like her heart would jump out of her body.

Hiccup!

Gasp!

Hmm....

The different sounds ran out, which quickly broke Elda from her thoughts, her eyes gaining a certain edge to them as she gazed at her friends—all of them bright-faced and filled with a certain shyness and desire to them as they gazed upon the bare-chested Austin walking to the fight, the desire in their eyes open for all to see and understand.

’This...’

The slight scent of corruption ran deep: obsession, jealousy, and a wild side that wanted to run free suddenly sprang up in the mind of Elda. She knew Austin was hers; she had no reason to fear, but fear was there deep in her mind—the fear of losing Austin to the dragon princess, the fear of never touching him again, the fear that some other woman might steal him away. All that stress still lay deep within the mind of Elda.

And that suddenly sprang deeply like heated oil running deep into Elda’s mind as she felt the sudden desire to just rip free and rip out the life from the hearts of all the women that wanted to take away the one person she loved the most in the world—the one person who would do anything for her and the one person whose life really mattered in the eyes of Elda.

Elda, being blessed with the ability to handle the special ability of life—the blessing of the fairies—is born with several different abilities that make her special; she can see the life code inside a person that defines their growth, the timeline of their life, and even more.

The situation of what she had twisted her focus of life a little bit; she had awakened all these powers of hers after her bloodline bloomed, and it had made everything harder for her, but the one thing in her constant life that never strayed was her brother, Austin.

The life force in him just seems to come forth and hug her tight, so warm that she could lose herself in him forever. She had never felt a life force like that before, ever in her life; not even her mother could give her that level of warmth. The way she views the world has become warped due to the ability she has awakened.

The concept of ’life’ to Elda, in a way, is very different; she wraps her ability to emotions based on the life she had attached to someone. Elda had fallen for Austin before her bloodline awakened; that combined with what she could do and see now wrapped his ability to life the highest in Elda’s life. It also, in a sense, came forth from the way she grew, later changed the way in which she sees and deals with life.

Not to mention some hidden effects that grew and attached themselves to Elda when Austin came back to her—being the Prince of Life himself, his presence in Elda’s life is something that can never be let go: a flame of life so warm that she always wants to be with it.

Elda in her heart is indeed a gentle and kind woman, but it also comes with the addition that Elda’s knows that the ability of life—the one she uses to cure—can’t just be used to save a life, but if twisted it can also be used to take one in several horrifying ways, ways that can never be traced back to her. When she had learned of what harm she could do with life, she had locked those thoughts away.

But now, here at this moment, the several possibilities of harm Elda could do with life slowly started to flow into her mind—tainting and twisting her: the pressure, jealousy, and everything she experienced slowly itching towards the end which finally breaks the layer that Elda had kept hidden—the more ruthless little devil that kills and takes with a gentle smile.

"Nathalia, do you just like or love my brother?"

Suddenly, Elda asked, a gentle smile on her face—the power of life force swirling within her as Elda gazed and looked at the special life forces of her friends, a ruthless glint flashing in her eyes: the little devil had awoken.

....

Nathalia looked forth at the glory of Austin with wide eyes—that sheer perfection in her eyes making even her body that never felt such hot emotion heat up. Nathalia, in a sense, is the greatest creator of her time; thus, her eyes could see things that others can’t, and right now Nathalia was gazing at pure perfection in her eyes: perfection that is making her body react in ways it hadn’t before.

As Nathalia twirled her mind into those thoughts, it came right back to everything she had come to know: she had come to know what had happened with Austin gathering in her family and the things that had taken place. Just thinking of what had happened itself started to make the heart of Nathalia beat faster and faster.

In the way that Austin had reacted only went forth to show that he also, in a sense, sees her as a woman: he didn’t reject her and even was interested in growing closer! Just the thought of that was enough to make Nathalia giddy.

Even more so, she was embarrassed—the fact that Austin had to find out about it like that, that such things were dealt with like that, made Nathalia both embarrassed and really angry. She wanted to do this her own way, but she was also smart enough to understand that Dwarven customs aren’t such that they have to be followed by humans, too.

At first, Nathalia was devastated in some ways, but it soon eased into her understanding that Austin is indeed interested in her—all that is left is for them to grow closer. She knew it would take time and some effort from her side to get things done, but the hardest part of her family accepting it, and Austin knowing it was done. It’s quite pathetic from her side that it all happened without her doing anything, but Nathalia had, in a sense, gotten the green light to move forward with pride! okay maybe not pride...

’But how would Elda react?’

Sneaking glances at Elda, Nathalia worried: she was one of her best friends, and by now Nathalia was sure that Elda must have gotten the information from Austin, which made it more stressful for Nathalia. Perhaps the fact that Elda hasn’t stormed to her and demanded answers would show that she is tactically agreeing to this?

Such questions filled the mind of Nathalia: worry and doubt, but with it also came the thought of a ring her stepmother gave her.

<Such men like Austin would continue to attract the gazes of several women, many of them perhaps even accomplished like you. When that happens, will you fight for him, or will you share?>

The question was innocent, but it stuck to Nathalia—to someone like her, who can’t deal much with men and has a more naive and soft-hearted mind, the prospect of fighting for something isn’t something she is comfortable with.

<My daughter, you will have to choose: either break away from your current mind or stay where you are. In the end, be sure that you won’t regret losing something divine.>
