Chapter 870: Chapter 868-So Many Changes.
Austin acted as if his senses were acting up, his fingers first twitched, which made Valdris's hands twitch. Later, his eyelids slowly started to tremble, seemingly the young man waking up from the hit he had received some time ago. That quickly startled the two women, the two of them freezing for a fraction of a second.
And at that moment, Austin let the lust go free from them and gave access back to their minds, and the two women quickly acted upon it. Lyssandra quickly pulled herself back, her mind finally gaining some semblance of peace, but even then, all the damage had been done -a heart had already been engraved deep within her soul.
Lyssandra quickly gave a tap to her daughter, making her break out of her thoughts and take her hand away from Austin with clear reluctance on her face, a sense of loss in her heart which was shared by her mother, Lyssandra. The two women quickly went to settle themselves on two sides of Austin.
Lyssandra stood on one side, while Valdris was seated on the next. Valdris's eyes trembled as she looked at her mother. Both women locked eyes, and the emotions felt in them were the same with each other-they knew Austin was waking up, and they had a choice to make. How could they let this young man go after bringing them peace?
"Let's keep him here for some time. We will decide what to do then..."
Lyssandra's voice, filled with a sense of desire, whispered those words to her daughter, who flinched a bit, her eyes gaining a certain light as she spoke back in those light whispers as Austin was waking up.
"I can't let him go, mother..."
"Neither can I..."
Lyssandra replied back, making both of them narrow their eyes at each other. The two of them understood that, within moments, they had fallen harder than they ever could, and it only made both women bite their lips in frustration. The whole situation was now beyond their control—a situation that could ruin the whole family and bring down their reputation.
Yet even then, none of these two women wanted to give any of it up at all. They couldn't let it go, and thus, for a single moment, Lyssandra closed her eyes, her mind-superior to that of a mortal—flashing with full strength. The calm dignity and commanding power of a supreme ruler kept her in check as she tried to find a solution within that fraction of a second.
She had seen everything that had happened to Austin till now, and the actions before that made her heart burn with the greatest anger-anger to teach her son a big lesson. But she held those thoughts back for now, as she, within that spark of time, quickly arrived at some solutions to keep the young man close.
Soon Lyssandra opened her eyes, locking them with her daughter's as she gave the command. "Keep him close to you. It seems he too has some immense attraction to you. A young man like this would be easy for you to keep close to. We will plan things from there."
Valdris nodded her head at those words. The simple translation of those words just came up to being of seducing Austin in a light manner. Valdris had noticed his daze and attention on her, and she had known of those attentions her whole life-her beauty and her cold demeanour being attractions to many men, be they dwarves or other races.
And she had wielded it with power then, but now, facing this simple solution of 'controlling' this young man, a very bright blush came over Valdris's face. She fought a little in her seat, while her imagination flew all over the place, almost making her forget her age, what she was, and even her standing. All the thoughts now were of the 'lovey-dovey' situations she could create with this amazing young man.
Lyssandra caught onto those expressions, her heart sparking in a huge manner with jealousy for her own daughter, which she was feeling for the first time, making her bite her lips for a moment. What she didn't wholly tell her daughter was Lyssandra's own plans that she would be putting into motion.
"I will hide myself from his sight for the moment," Lyssandra whispered to her daughter. The cunning wisdom of a past ruler flashed through the eyes of Valdris as she gazed at her daughter and then at Austin for a moment-a certain thrill that could perhaps give her control over the young man going through her as Austin finally woke up from the bed, the atmosphere shifting at that.
...
'A lot of complex thoughts here and there,' Austin mused as he finally opened his eyes, the first thing being the ceiling that filled his eyes. With a small pain in his face, Austin went forth to hold his head, rubbing it a bit as he lightly spoke out.
"Guess I went a bit overboard."
The voice rang out for a moment after which a voice called out.
"You did go overboard. You are lucky you are even alive."
The voice calling out to him was Valdris, and the moment Austin heard the voice, he sat up from the bed. Using his hands, Austin pushed himself up as he leaned against the railing of the bed, his gaze landing on his right, where Valdris sat with a heavy royal aura to her, her gaze seemingly cold and commanding.
Though the moment it hit their eyes of Austin, those eyes quivered like they were going through an earthquake, and for Austin, he fell into a 'daze' for a moment as he replied.
"So beautiful."
His words made Valdris's body tremble, her face flushing for a moment as she seemingly pinched herself a bit in a hidden manner. Though the moment Austin said it, he felt the left side of the room plunge down in temperature as if someone was feeling a bit jealous. Austin trembled for a moment, after which he looked to the left.
"What was that?" he asked out loud a bit as he looked around the room, checking it out, but he 'couldn't' find Lyssandra at all. Soon, Austin just shook his head as he looked at Valdris, who was trying to act as normal as she could. Her stature, even though tall within the lineage of dwarves, was still short of just Austin's chest if she tiptoed, so she looked very cute in the eyes of Austin as she tried to struggle and hold back all those emotions bursting within her. "You have quite the loose tongue saying that to me like this. What's your head filled with to say such words the moment you wake up from a beating?"
Valdris spoke a bit more pressured than she expected it to be, her reply being a defence in itself to hide the different complex feelings passing through her mind, which she regretted the moment she spoke. Her words made Austin flinch for a moment, after which he replied
with a shrug.
"Sorry about that. It's just in my style to speak the truth and enjoy life as it goes. After all, we only have one life, don't we?"
His words, soft and calm, made Valdris almost smile for a moment as she replied back, once again defensive.
"And you almost lost that one life today," her tone had an edge, which made her flinch inside again. It was then the voice of Lyssandra filled the mind of Valdris.
'My child, I said that we want to keep him here, not drive him away.'
Her mother's words made Valdris flinch again, feeling the burn in her. It's just that she wasn't used to so much emotion like this, which meant dealing with all this wasn't easy at all. Even right now, she just wanted to put the biggest smile on her face and just hug Austin and shower him with kisses. She was barely holding herself back now.
'Patience, mother... patience. I can't just change everything. I need to make it all look a bit more
natural.'
With that thought, she focused on Austin, who replied back.
"I didn't die, right?"
A small cheeky smile on his face as he stretched himself in the bed, his gaze travelling around
the room as he asked.
"Where am I?"
His words made Valdris give him a sharp look, after which she replied in a regal manner.
"One among the many rooms in the palace. Consider yourself lucky that you even survived without any major issues."
Austin smiled at her words, giving her a shrug once more as he moved from the bed, soon standing on the floor as he stretched himself left and right. All this time, Valdris focused on Austin, her gaze fully leaned in as she tried to make sense of the whole character of this mysterious young man who had entered into her life.
Her mind ran with different plans on what she should do next, though before she could finish her thoughts Austin suddenly towered over her, looking down at her. After which, he slowly leaned down, making the heart of Valdris beat faster and faster. She tried to say something, but nothing could even come out of her mouth as Austin leaned in front of her. Both their faces were a bit close, a beautiful blush on Valdris's face as Austin, looking deep
into her, asked.
"Why am I so attracted to you?"
His words made Valdris's heart skip a beat...
