The CEO's Woman

Chapter 290 - Corporate Spies

Monday.

The online news and all the TV news was about how Angler received sponsorship from different countries and other companies worthing millions.

It was not very surprising. Wang Empire refused to collaborate with many companies which wanted to and was being meticulous in accepting sponsorships from other companies. Because of that, other companies would, of course, immediately invested their money into the next tech company that declared the same type of innovation as Wang Empire.

Many businessmen and countries criticized Wang Empire for this choice but for Jiang Yue, money was not everything. She wanted to make sure that every company and country that she was working with, would not bring any harm to Wang Empire.

Some people considered her decision as being foolish and demanding. Why did she have so many requirements for the people, who wanted to sponsor her projects? Wasn't that a little too stupid from her part as a business mogul?

In the end, people, who were watching and analyzing the show just shook their heads. Based on their analysis the rise and fall of Wang Empire might have happened within a year from the day they started the company..

If that was not tragic, then what was?

Jiang Yue was too idealistic and not flexible in her terms. A person like that, would not last long in the business industry.

However, some people also applauded her for being brave. Her undying courage was something that every person should have they thought. So what, if she received fewer sponsorships compared to Angler Tech Company? Did it mean that she would be less successful than them?

Of course not! Everything would still boil down to the results. If Wang Empire could still deliver the end product despite having less funding, then it would only mean that Jiang Yue was indeed very capable. However, if they failed, then fewer people would berate them since it was already expected from the very beginning. After all, less funding would only mean less opportunity, and less flexibility.

"Everyone's opinion is divided. Hehehe... too bad, they forgot that Fu Jin is on our side." Wang Minghua chuckled while reading the public's comments online. He was currently in Jiang Yue's office discussing what had been happening lately. "Fu Conglomerate's funding is enough to fund countries. How come no one is even aware of this?"

"I'm not worried about the money, as it will always come pouring down, once they see our results. I think about the three resignations that we have received today," she said. Jiang Yue chose to keep everyone unaware of Fu Jin's funding, as she did not like attracting the media's attention. She hated being always watched by everyone. Not that she could avoid this in the future. "They are blatantly poaching our talents. They must have thought that those people were all high and mighty in this company. Imagine their faces when they get to know that they are not even familiar with the stuff I am doing?"

Her words earned a chuckle from her cousin, "Bai'Li has told me that they tried to poach him... even offered to triple his salary, give him a penthouse, and a car! They were trying their best to poach everyone, who works well under us! Can you believe that?"

"That... That is actually not that surprising. After Wang Empire announced about the Devouring Virus and other softwares, Angler Tech has almost lost half of its customers. So what did Bai'Li say?"

"Of course he said no... he had been with you since like forever... do you even know that he is not straight?"

"Since when did you start gossiping about people?" Of course, Jiang Yue knew about that. However, she was more interested in Wang Minghua being a little gossipy today.

"I'm not... ahem... okay back to the topic. Did you call me here to talk about the people who had left?" his attempt of changing the topic was so obvious, but Jiang Yue just brushed it off and shook her head.

"No... just this morning... someone tried to access an encrypted research file that contains the design for my drone AI project."

"You mean?"

"Yes... someone has stolen it."

"STOLEN?" he bellowed, his loud voice made Jiang Yue cover her ears. "And you are sitting here this calm? Who did it? Tell me? What are your plans now? Are we going to sue that person? Is it someone from..."

"Relax! Please.... your voice is making me panic!" she gestured for him to sit down. "I didn't say they have stolen the right file."

"What do you mean?"

"Someone tried to access it and copied the file that they saw... must have been in a hurry. It wasn't the right one. It was the first layer of malware that I installed to secure the file."

"You almost gave me a heart attack! I thought someone has already stolen our secret files," he said, as he dramatically patted his chest.

"Of course not! Do you think I am that dumb to give them access to my files?" she raised an eyebrow. "Seriously?"

"So what are we going to do now?" Wang Minghua asked, ignoring Jiang Yue's question. Of course, Jiang Yue was not dumb. If she was considered dumb, then how about everyone else like him?

"Wait."

"For what?"

"Since they stole something from me… they shall face the consequences. But for now... We will wait…. Let them believe they won… then strike them when they reach their highest point." Jiang Yue smiled at him, evilly. "That way, they will have a long… disastrous fall- it will surely hurt."

"Imagine falling after thinking that they have already won?" she asked.

In response, Wang Minghua shivered involuntarily. Jiang Yue seemed to have become scarier every day.

"What if they steal something again?" he asked. "What if they have planted corporate spies in our company?"

"Let them… I will be waiting for that to happen," she said.

"Are you going to bait them into stealing again?"

"Maybe..." she answered before she let out a giggle. "Who knows! But it will be better if they steal something again."
