The Broken Halo

Chapter 558: Sunless Vs Lilith (2)

Lilith’s eyes were extremely cold as the Chaos Blade cut Sunless’ chest.

She was about to exert more of her strength, but Sunless vanished into a shadow before the blade could cut any deeper.

She reappeared several hundred meters away and looked down at the wound on her chest.

The wound was not deep enough to kill her, but it was deep enough to make her expression darker.

Black blood flowed down her chest and stained her clothes.

Lilith looked at the blood on the Chaos Blade, then she looked at Sunless.

"Your body is sturdier than I expected."

"And that blade is sharper than I expected." Sunless’ said coldly.

Her black eyes became colder, and hundreds of shadows around her began to rise.

The shadows twisted and stretched, then they became arrows.

Hundreds.

No.

Thousands of shadow arrows appeared.

In just a few seconds, the sky behind Sunless was filled with shadow arrows. Each arrow was thin, sharp, and silent.

They floated behind her like a black storm waiting to fall.

Lilith calmly watched.

The dark golden cracks around Simon’s eyes spread further, and a attack also appeared on his right hand and moved toward his wrist, a faint dark golden light could be seen from the Chaos Wraps.

Blood dripped from the crack, but Unholy Regeneration healed Simon’s body once again, preventing even more blood from dripping from his body.

In Simon’s Sea of Consciousness, Simon watched everything with an extremely dark expression.

He could feel only a portion of the pain his body was going through, and this portion was enough to make some demons lose their minds.

Every movement Lilith made tore his body apart from the inside.

It felt like his bones were being squeezed by a mountain and his flesh was being burned by invisible flames.

Whenever she used her abilities, it made his condition worse.

But Simon did not tell Lilith to stop.

His eyes were cold.

His mind was calm.

He only watched and calculated.

Sunless raised her hand, and the shadow arrows shot forward.

The arrows covered the sky. They were so many to the point that they looked like rain.

No.

Not rain.

Like a black storm.

Lilith took one step forward.

Then another.

She walked toward the incoming arrows as though they were nothing.

The Chaos Blade moved.

A dark golden arc flew out and destroyed dozens of shadow arrows.

Then another slash.

Then another.

Lilith continued walking toward the rain of shadow arrows, and each casual swing of the Chaos Blade destroyed a large portion of the incoming arrows.

The dark golden arcs moved across the sky like crescent moons, and everywhere they passed, the shadow arrows were cut apart and erased.

However, Sunless’ arrows were too many.

Some passed through the gaps between Lilith’s slashes and shot toward her body.

Lilith tilted her head to avoid one.

She turned her shoulder to avoid another.

She raised her hand and crushed one between her fingers.

However, she couldn’t block and dodge everything.

Two arrows pierced her left shoulder.

Three pierced her side.

And one pierced her thigh.

Simon’s body trembled slightly, and blood flowed from the wounds.

But Lilith did not stop walking forward.

A portion of the Chaos Wraps unfurled themselves, and the arrows that pierced her body were pulled out and shattered by them.

Then, UnholyRegeneration immediately began to heal the wounds.

Lilith’s expression did not change in the slightest, but Sunless’ expression became more ugly.

"That damned healing ability. It can also heal injuries afflicted by shadow energy?"

Lilith did not answer.

She vanished.

And Sunless’ instincts screamed at her.

A shadow sphere instantly appeared around her body.

Not one

Not two.

But five shadow spheres.

Five shadow spheres formed around Sunless like layers of black glass.

The Chaos Blade struck the first shield.

Bang!

It shattered.

The second shield shattered.

Bang!

The third shield shattered.

Bang!

The fourth shield shattered.

Bang!

The fifth shield held for a brief moment... Then it also shattered.

Bang!

All of these happened in less than five seconds.

Sunless barely managed to lean backward so as to dodge the attack, but the tip of the Chaos Blade still cut across her neck.

A thin line appeared on her throat, and black blood slowly flowed out.

Sunless’ expression became frighteningly cold, and her killing intent could vaporize an entire sea.

She gave an uppercut to the air, and in that exact moment, a shadow hand suddenly emerged from beneath Lilith and punched her into the sky.

BOOM!

Lilith’s body shot upward like a cannonball.

Sunless raised her hand, and dozens of shadow hands emerged from the ground.

They stretched toward the sky, chasing Lilith like black pillars.

Lilith twisted in the air and her draconic golden eyes flashed with a golden light.

She stepped on empty space, and the air beneath her feet cracked like glass.

Her body stopped instantly.

She looked down at the incoming shadow hands and swung the Chaos Blade.

One slash.

And five shadow hands were severed.

Another slash.

And ten more were destroyed.

But more kept coming.

The ground below had become a sea of moving shadows.

Shadow hands rose from the forest, from the craters they’ve created, from the ravine of the clan, and from every dark corner that existed in Blackwind Valley.

They reached towards Lilith like the hands of countless dead souls trying to drag her down.

Lilith’s lips curled up slightly.

"Not bad."

She raised the Chaos Blade above her head. Dark golden light gathered along the edge of the blade.

The light was not bright. It was deep, heavy, and sharp.

And it possessed an authority that sent made the world groan.

The moment it appeared, the sky above her seemed to split slightly.

Lilith’s eyes flashed, then she swung down.

SHIIIIINNNNGGGG!!!!

The world howled, then a massive dark golden slash descended from the sky.

The slash tore through the shadow hands, split the air, and continued downward until it struck the forest.

BOOOOOM!!!!

A terrifying explosion shook the entire valley, and a long line was carved into Blackwind Valley.

The line stretched from the forest, passed through the battlefield, and reached a distant hill.

Then the hill split in half.

RUMBLE!

A deep rumbling sound echoed through the valley as the upper portion of the hill slowly slid to the side.

Rocks fell like rain, dust like smoke, and the roads of demonic beasts became louder and more desperate.

They were fleeing for thier lives.

Even Akaza, Sonya, Jorra, and Merath were extremely fearful and afraid.

They were on the run, wanting to distance themselves from these two terrifying Demi-Gods as quickly as possible.
