Chapter 556: Two Dead
True Night, First Dusk, and Sunless were shaken by Lilith’s usage of the sword.
Even when True Night and Black Midnight blocked Sunless’ first strike, they realized that they didn’t fully block it.
Her mask was split in half.
And now, she cut off Black Midnight’s head before he could react.
Simon’s lips could not help but twitch as he watched the battle in his sea of consciousness.
He actually wanted to kill Black Midnight himself, but it was only a fleeting desire.
"Hmm? You blocked that?"
Lilith’s voice carried a hint of genuine curiosity.
The Chaos Blade rested against True Night’s dagger, and the Grave Lord’s arms trembled violently as he struggled to hold back the attack.
Blood trickled down the corner of his mouth.
His muscles bulged as he coated his entire body with a dense concentration of demonic energy.
The veins beneath his skin also swelled.
However, despite using every ounce of strength in his body, he could barely stop the blade from moving closer and closer to his neck.
The difference in strength was obvious even though both of them were Half-Step Demon Kings.
The strongest Grave Lord in the Shadowgrave Clan was a Half-Step Demon King.
Lilith stared at him for a moment before shaking her head slightly.
"Weak."
Boom!
A terrifying shockwave erupted from her arm, and True Night’s eyes widened in disbelief.
His dagger flew out of his hand, then his right arm exploded into a shower of blood and flesh.
The Grave Lord was sent flying across the forest like a broken doll before crashing through dozens of trees.
The entire Blackwind Valley trembled.
A frightening silence descended upon the battlefield.
Nobody spoke.
Nobody moved.
Even Akaza, Sonya, Merath, and Jorra who survived the first shockwave stared at the battle with wide eyes.
A Grave Lord.
A being many clan members viewed as nearly invincible had just been casually swatted away by a possessed Simon.
Lilith did not even bother looking in the direction True Night had been sent flying.
Instead, she slowly lowered her gaze toward Black Midnight’s corpse.
The headless body remained standing for a brief moment before finally collapsing to the ground.
Thud
The sound seemed exceptionally loud in the silent valley, and Sonya and the others felt their scalps go numb at this sight.
Black Midnight... One of the six Grave Lords... Dead... Killed in a single exchange?
Black Midnight was not weak. He was the third strongest Grave Lord, but even he could not do anything against Lilith.
Even Sunless’ expression had become incomparably solemn. The playful attitude she carried earlier was nowhere to be seen, and the vast shadow behind her continued to shift and writhe.
It no longer appeared calm.
Lilith approached Sunless and First Dusk with calm steps and an indifferent expression.
Sunless narrowed her eyes, then she released a deep sigh.
"Blackmoon o’ Blackmoon... You always surprise me at the end of the day."
She took a step to the side, separating herself First Dusk.
Then she stretched out her arms to the sides.
"Come."
The moment she said these words, the immense shadow behind her surged toward her, almost like it had been waiting for that command.
It crawled across her entire body, from her feet to her legs, waist, upper body, arms, then head.
As the shadow moved across her body, Sunless’ aura began to rise at a rapid rate.
Lilith’s eyes flashed with a cold glint, then she swung the Chaos Blade to the sky.
A second after she did this, a deep crack appeared on Simon’s neck, causing Lilith to frown.
A dark golden arc of light that was filled with immense sharpness flew toward Sunless.
The dark golden arc of light split the ground in two, and a deep darkness could be seen in this fissure.
The trees shook, branches and leaves fell, and the fearful roars of demonic beasts could be heard all across the valley.
"Heh."
Sunless scoffed, and to the disbelief of First Dusk, shadow tentacles shot out of Sunless’ hand and threw him right in the path of Lilith’s attack.
Before the Grave Lord could even say a single word, the arc of light split crashed into him.
Clang!
First Dusk instinctively placed his spear in front of his body to protect himself, but it was futile.
His spear was split in two and his body suffered the same fate.
Lilith’s attack did not vanish after killing First Dusk.
It kept on moving, however, Sunless’ was no longer in the same spot.
First Dusk had bought her time, and she was able to escape Lilith’s attack.
And...
Lilith had a slight frown as she looked to the right.
The aura Sunless was emitting was terrifying. In fact, Sonya, Akaza, Merath, and Jorra would say that it was more terrifying than Lilith’s aura.
Why?
Because Sunless’ was now emitting the aura of a Demon King.
And it was not just a Minor Demon King.
No.
A Superior Demon King.
"Well, this might become troublesome." Lilith mumbled softly underneath her breath.
As for Sunless, her expression was ugly.
She didn’t want to do this, but this unknown ancient being had forced her hand.
She looked at a particular distance, then she looked at the sky, then she looked at the ravine of the clan.
Then she released a frustrated sigh.
Just as she released this sigh, she indifferently took a step to the side.
Whoosh!
A dark golden arc of light passed split the ground to her left.
The distance between her and the arc was about an inch.
A thin cut suddenly appeared on her left cheek, surprising her.
Then she stretched out her hand and a blade made out of shadows was formed in her hand.
She placed it in front of her.
CLANG!
BOOM!
The sound of two metals clashing echoed across the valley, and a devastating shockwave shattered the ground and their surroundings.
Sunless had a dark expression as she looked at Lilith.
The Chaos Blade and Shadow Blade screeched against one another as both females tried to overpower one another.
