Chapter 439: Caesar
Simon did not recognize the figure at first because their meeting was extremely brief.
But at the back of his mind, he had always been suspicious of this demon because it was extremely strange that he would bump into a demon.
He observed the demon before going to ask the employees how much they were willing to buy the sovereign ranked sword.
He noticed that the demon seemed to be going through some gloves, and Simon could not help but glance at the demon’s hands.
He did not notice a single glove on the demon’s hands, causing Simon to raise a brow.
He nonchalantly shrugged and didn’t think much of it since it didn’t matter to him.
He turned and met with one of the employees.
He brought out the sword and asked her how much they were willing to pay for the sword.
The demoness only took a single glance at the sword and there was not even a tinge of surprise or any bit of emotion in her eyes when she saw the sword, almost like she already knew what item he was going to bring out.
“Five thousand, five hundred merits.”
Simon shook his head slightly, then he released a soft scoff.
He kept the sword, said nothing else, then he walked toward the exit.
However, after taking six steps, a voice drifted across the shop.
“I commend your perservance, but you won’t find a single shop that’s going to buy that sword from you for more than six thousand merits.”
Simon slowly came to a stop, then he turned and looked at the demon with the bored clown mask.
He frowned.
He looked around, and he saw that the behavior of the employees was now strange.
They were all bowing their heads with their hands behind their backs.
Simon’s gaze sharpened at this sight.
He looked back at the demon with the mask of a bored clown.
“And you are?”
The demon turned and faced him.
“Well, my title in the clan is The Bored One, but you can call me Caesar.”
Simon raised a brow and looked at the demon whose name was similar to that of a roman emperor.
However, he could not help but frown when he realized that he could not really point out Caesar’s race and even aura.
Caesar had extremely pale skin, long flowing black hair and violet eyes, and aside from his eyes and pale skin, one might mistake him for a human rather than a demon.
Simon had a few guesses as to what Caesar’s race could be, but he still could not help but wonder.
’Could he be a Daemon? And is he using an artifact to hide his aura and demonic energy?’
’Even when I’m this close, I can’t perceive his true rank.’
Simon narrowed his eyes, then he decided to use Hollow Sky Eye to see Caesar’s chaos flame.
He rarely used this ability because he could just use his senses to determine the rank of the demons that stood before him, but in this situation, he had to use it.
His eyes flashed with a dark emerald-orange light, and Caesar’s body became black and white in Simon’s vision.
The outline of Caesar’s body was white, and in the place of his heart was a black flame.
When Simon saw this black flame, his expression became solemn.
’A Half-Step Greater Demon, but his chaos flame is very large. Does he have a Royal Bloodline?’
’A Superior or Supreme Royal Bloodline?’
’Or he might actually be a Daemon.’
“Hmm?”
Caesar suddenly frowned and looked at the ring on the middle finger of his right hand.
Then he looked at Simon with a slight tilt of his head.
“Interesting. You seem to have somehow bypassed my defenses to see my true rank. How did you do that?”
The slight glow in Simon’s eyes receded, then he looked into the violet eyes of Caesar.
“You’ve told me what your name is, but who are you to the three factions?”
Caesar chuckled softly, then he snapped his fingers at two of the female employees.
“Fetch us a chair, a table, and some alcohol.”
The two female employees quickly did as they were told, and Simon raised a brow.
“Don’t bother. I’m not staying here for long.”
Caesar chuckled as a table was placed in front of him and a chair behind him.
He calmly and elegantly sat.
“I insist.”
Simon frowned, and he was about to speak, but Caesar raised a finger.
“Since you could break my defenses, then surely you must know how powerful they are.”
He gestured at the employees who all looked at Simon coldly with their hands still behind their backs.
’Many of them are Supreme Archfiends, but they’re all very powerful and talented. They’re not comparable to Sonya, but it would be dangerous facing eight Archfiends.’
’And I can also sense the hidden presence of a Greater Demon… So much preparation just for me?’
In this situation, Simon felt like a tiger who was facing a pack of wolves, and Caesar was the alpha.
He looked at Caesar who was looking at him with a gaze that was mainly bored but at the same time, had a tinge of curiosity in them.
“Sit.”
He gestured at the chair opposite him after the drinks were served, and Simon calmly sat but he didn’t touch the drink.
“You can drink. Don’t worry, it’s not poisoned.”
Simon scoffed the moment he heard that.
“Sure.”
Caesar nonchalantly shrugged, then he took his own glass cup of wine and drank out of it an elegant manner.
“Good wine. Costs about fifty thousand merits.” He said as he placed the cup on the table.
Meanwhile, Simon’s lips could not help but twitch, but he didn’t say anything.
He folded his arms, and began to tap his biceps while staring at Caesar with a completely indifferent gaze.
There was a silence between them before Caesar broke it.
“I want you to join us, Broken Halo.”
