Chapter 340: Bump Into
Chapter 340: 340: Bump Into
Due to the fact that he had a lot of things on his mind, he had actually forgotten about the fact that because he was a slave, everything was tripled in price for him.
But even at that, it was still quite disturbing to him that to even exchange for a hell stone was triple the price for him.
’Actually, when I think about it, this is one of the most important things that should actually be triple the price’
’If hell stones are too expensive for a slave to obtain, the slave would find it more difficult to increase their heart rank.’
Sigh
He could not help but release a sigh of frustration.
’And I can’t make Akaza to be with me all the time or to be following me whenever I want to make a transaction. It would be detrimental to his growth. He needs his personal time.’
’What a hassle.’
He released another sigh of frustration, then he shifted his attention back to the female exchange clerk.
“Give me a five hundred low grade hell stones. That would do.”
Though he was tempted to buy a single intermediate hell stones, spending three thousand merits was a lot for him currently.
At the end of the day, his income from his classmates was just over a thousand merits, he couldn’t spend so much like that.
Also, he wanted to see how effective a low grade hell stone was when it came to increasing his heart rank.
’And maybe next time, I’ll bring along Akaza to buy an intermediate grade hell stone.’
The female exchange clerk confirmed the transaction, and Simon was a thousand and five hundred merits poorer.
“Please hold on.” She said, then she stood and walked into a room behind her.
Some minutes later, she came out with a leather pouch and handed it over to Simon.
“Here’s five hundred low grade hell stones. You can count it to confirm if it’s complete.”
Simon grabbed it, opened it, and once he took a glimpse of the hell stones, he nodded.
He took a one of the hell stones, then he placed it in front of her.
She looked at it and blinked.
“Oh. There’s no need for you to tip me. I don’t think your master would be pleased hearing that you took from his money even if it’s a single low grade hell stone.”
She completely believed that Simon was buying these hell stones for his master since it was not common for a slave to have so much money.
Especially when the slave was a mere Fiend.
She was a Shadow Blade, and a low grade hell stone was nothing to her.
Simon could guess her thoughts, but he could not help but wonder why she did not think about the first request he made.
Wasn’t it obvious that he was exchanging his merits for some hell stones and not for some master?
’Hmm.’
Regardless of his thoughts, he kept them to himself.
“It’s thanks for reminding me that I have to pay triple for everything cause I’m a slave. You could have concluded the transfer and probably gotten extra money for yourself.”
“So thanks.”
He pushed the low grade hell stone to her with smiling eyes, and the female exchange clerk was taken aback.
Simon was right.
She could have made some extra money for herself if she did not remind him, but she didn’t.
Why?
She wasn’t totally sure.
Was it because Simon saved her from the previous embarrassment.
Or was it just because of his eyes which she found herself attracted to?
Maybe both?
She wasn’t sure.
Eventually, she decided to take the low grade hell stone.
It was just a low grade hell stone, so it was actually nothing much to her, to her colleagues, and to those at the top, it was nothing to them.
Simon nodded when he saw this, and without even bothering to count the hell stones in the pouch, he sent it into his spatial ring.
“You’re not going to count it?” She asked curiously since first timers usually counted how many hell stones they received.
“No need.” Simon replied indifferently with a shake of his head.
If he was buying this from market square, then he would definitely count it. But in the exchange center, they were trustworthy and they had to be since that was one of the main differences between the market square and the exchange center.
“Later.”
He gave her a smile behind his mask, then he walked out of the building.
However, just as he walked out of the building, an Initiate bumped into him.
“Shit. Sorry. Sorry. My bad.”
The Initiate bowed and apologized, and Simon waved his hand.
“It’s no big deal. Don’t worry about it.”
The Initiate heaved a sigh of relief, then he raised his head and raised his hand.
“Alright. Thank you.”
Without waiting for a response from Simon, he walked into the exchange center and Simon looked at him.
The Initiate was wearing the mask of a clown, but this clown mask was strange.
It looked…bored.
’Strange I didn’t dodge that.’
Out of caution, he checked his body to make sure that nothing had been stolen from him and that nothing had been placed on him.
When he saw that everything was alright and nothing was out of place, he shrugged and walked away from the building.
He went back to the cultivation tower and rented a low grade room for one hour.
Out of habit, he made sure that there was nothing out of place in the room, and only after he did this did he sit with his legs crossed, then he brought out one low grade hell stone.
A hell stone was not actually a stone but a red crystal that resembled a ruby.
The low grade hell stone in Simon’s hand was a rough and somewhat cloudy crystal with an uneven shape and chipped edges.
Inside the crystal was a small, flickering dull red flame, and this flame is the source of demonic energy in a hell stone.
