The Broken Halo

Chapter 291: He’s Terrifying

Chapter 291: 291: He’s Terrifying

’She’s really going to pay it?’

It was not only Balafar and Agramormos that was surprised by Tibat’s willingness to pay for the book, Akaza himself was surprised by the fact that Tibat was willing to pay two thousand merits for a mere book.

’I guess it’s true that the Black Thorns are the richest when it comes to school gangs.’

’Two thousand merits can buy a cultivation technique or a Martial Arts book, but she chose to spend it on this book… How rich.’

Akaza shook his head slightly, choosing to push all these thoughts to the back of his mind.

He looked at her. “I have your contact, so I’ll send my account details to you.”

Tibat nodded, then he raised his right hand, and his Grave Mark glowed.

Demonic scripts appeared in front of him, and with a thought, Akaza sent his account details to Tibat.

A second later, demonic scripts appeared before her, and she transferred the two thousand merits into Akaza’s account.

Akaza nodded when he received the alert, then he threw the book at her.

She caught it with a slight raise of her brow.

“This is two thousand merits. It’s not cheap, you should actually treat it with care.”

Akaza had the urge to roll his eyes, but he controlled himself since it would seem like even he himself did not value the book he was selling for two thousand merits.

’It was that bastard that wrote the book after telling me to obtain some information from the Intelligence Office.’

’Why would I value it when it has nothing I need?’

Tibat opened the book and skimmed through it.

Balafar and Agramormos observed her with slightly narrowed eyes, wanting to see if she’d feel like she had just wasted a lot of money.

Some seconds later, she closes the book and looked at Akaza with a complicated expression.

“I can see why you priced it at two thousand merits. You really put a lot of effort into writing this book.”

Akaza furrowed his brows in confusion.

’What effort? I didn’t even write the book.’

Just as he had this thought, Balafar spoke.

“What’s even so special about the book for you to say such a thing? Give me. Let me see.”

He was about to approach Tibat, but a cold glare from her made him stop in his tracks.

“Stingy as always.” He clicked his tongue, and Tibat scoffed. “Buy yours if you really want to know.”

Balafar sneered immediately. “I am not giving that slave two thousand merits just because of a book on some First Year weaklings.”

“I’ll buy the book.”

There was silence for a moment, then Tibat could no longer help herself and she burst out laughing.

“Hahahahahaha!!!”

Balafar looked at Agramormos with a vicious glare.

“Why are you buying it? And why did you say you wanted to buy the damn book right after I said I was not buying it?”

Agramormos raised an indifferent brow at Balafar.

“Because I can?”

This time around, Akaza snickered loudly, and Tibat’s laughter continued again.

Balafar was fuming, and he had the urge to kill Agramormos, but he knew that he could not.

He stood, then he angrily approached the door of the classroom.

Just as he was about to open the door, he paused and looked at Akaza.

“Don’t think this is over, Akaza. Once I’m done with your classmates, I’ll come for you and the Iron Fangs.”

Bang!

He walked out of the classroom and slammed the door shut.

Akaza blinked in surprise and confusion.

“But I wasn’t even the one that made you angry.” He mumbled underneath his breath.

Two seconds later, he nonchalantly shrugged.

As long as he and the Vipers Nest attack the First Years, he was okay with however he felt.

He looked at Agramormos, then he did the same thing with the big demon.

He sent account details, then he received the alert, then he threw the book at Agramormos.

Agramormos went through the book, and his eyes widened in surprise just like Tibat’s when she went through the book.

He looked at Akaza.

“Now I see why you priced it for two thousand merits. It’s really detailed.”

Akaza blinked, but he didn’t allow his face to show his baffled mind. He maintained an indifferent expression.

“Since that’s all, I’ll be taking my leave.”

He was about to turn, but Tibat spoke.

“I thought you were insane and foolish when you first told us what you wanted, but I can see that you’ve thought about it deeply.”

“But I’m curious about one thing. Why didn’t you try to make an offer where we give you a portion of the spoils we’ll get from extorting the First Years. If you’re right, then it’ll be a lot.”

Akaza was silent for a moment, then he glanced at the female leader of the Black Thorns.

“I told you before, I want Broken Halo to fall, stumble, and die. If I have to give you all the money, then so be it.”

“Besides, it’s not like you guys will give me or the Iron Fangs a good portion of the extorted merits.”

“At most, you’ll give us five percent. So why bother asking for a portion of the merits?”

Tibat smiled behind her mask. “Well, you’re right.”

She looked at the book with the same smile.

“I think I’ve learned something from you.”

Akaza narrowed his eyes. “And what’s that?”

She looked at him with the same smiling lips and eyes.

“There are no eternal enemies, only benefits. Benefits are what matters the most.”

“We’ll help you, Akaza. We’ll help you to bring down your master, Broken Halo. Just do your part, and we’ll do ours.”

Akaza remained silent for a few seconds, and then he nodded.

“Sure thing.”

Tibat and Agramormos watched him leave the room without saying anything, but what they didn’t know was that Akaza was having goosebumps all over his body because of everything that just happened.

’He’s terrifying. Very terrifying.’ Akaza thought with sweat dripping down his temple.

Everything had gone just as Simon told him it would.
