The Boys: Viltrumite Evolution Panel
Chapter 246 The Challenge of the Caring Big Sister
Mira folded her arms across her chest and glanced at her indifferently: "Awake? His Majesty has been waiting in the main hall for a long time."
"Where is this? How long have I been unconscious? Are you traitors of the Interstellar Alliance?" Anissa fired off questions like a string of firecrackers, her expression tense.
Mira sneered: "Save those questions to ask His Majesty yourself!"
Stepping into the spacious hall, the midday sunlight poured across the floor.
Lucas stood by the window with his hands behind his back, a light screen floating before him. It was broadcasting the real-time dynamics of the old homeworld.
The remaining thirty-some Old Empire warriors were struggling across various desolate galaxies to find a way to reproduce and pass on their lineage. However, due to the uneven talents of various races, their efforts yielded negligible results.
Until recently, they discovered an ugly, mantis-like Zerg species with purple skin and a very short maturation cycle, which held great significance for reproduction.
Thragg issued a strict order: forcing everyone to surrender their reproductive cells and using technological means to forcefully impregnate and propagate those disgusting Zerg.
Lucas slowly turned around and looked at Anissa, whose expression changed slightly: "Is this the glory Thragg leads you to guard so bitterly? At this rate, let alone a millennium, a hundred years from now, the purity of the Viltrumite Bloodline will cease to exist!"
Anissa bit her lower lip: "With our people withered to this extent, this... this is merely a last resort to continue our lineage!"
"A last resort?" Lucas scoffed, "After The Great Purge back then, fifty thousand of our kin followed me to break away from the old system. Now, on this Planet, the pure-blooded members of the new empire have already broken the Mark of one hundred thousand, and a century from now, they will multiply to several million!"
"You guard the skeletal remains of billions, yet inject your noble bloodline into disgusting insect eggs. Do you even deserve to call this the glory of Viltrum?"
Anissa took a deep breath and said toughly: "Since you saved me, don’t expect to get any information out of my mouth! If you want me to go back and persuade the Regent to surrender, you’ve calculated wrong; I would rather die than submit!"
"Thragg is inconsequential. If I wanted to kill you all, I would have sent a massive army to crush you long ago; why would I wait until now?"
Lucas slightly clenched one hand, and a wave of air forced Anissa to step back continuously. Surprisingly, the surrounding buildings remained completely intact, as if unaffected at all. This force was actually targeted solely at her?
"You probably don’t know yet, but I have defeated Conquest countless times, and he has completely submitted to me. How much longer do you think Thragg can hang on?"
Anissa’s whole body shook, her pupils contracting violently.
In her eyes, there seemed to be a few more indescribable implications.
"Stay." Lucas reined in his aura and said calmly, "Use your own eyes to see how our kin on this Planet live. Whether you continue to stubbornly guard a grave or return to your group is entirely up to your own decision."
"Of course, if you wish to leave, I will certainly not detain you."
Over the next few days, Anissa was not in a hurry to leave.
She was a relatively rational person. Even when she descended upon Earth in the original work, she did not go on a killing spree against Earthlings, but instead managed to communicate with Mark, showing that she was not a crazy woman in the traditional sense.
Take Nolan’s biological mother, for example.
Wearing ordinary Earth casual clothes, Anissa wandered through the scattered Viltrumite communities everywhere. However, the scene before her constantly challenged her perceptions.
The kin here lacked the cruel survival of the fittest of horns of the Old Empire. They formed families with Earth partners, gave birth to pure and robust offspring, and were filled with a gentle, everyday warmth among one another.
At the training ground in the suburbs, Anissa found Nolan.
Nolan had a prominent reputation on Earth.
The famous Omni-Man, after all!
He was guiding Mark in combat skills and conducting additional strength training.
"Nolan, you used to be the empire’s youngest elite warrior!" Anissa stood by the edge of the ruins with a complex look in her eyes, "Yet look at you now... weak, compromising, and even consuming your own honor for these mortal ants! Is this the new empire you all pursue?!"
Nolan stood with his hands behind his back, looking at Mark high in the air, and said in a deep voice:
"Anissa, the gene sequence of Earthlings has an unimaginable compatibility with ours. The offspring born from the combination of the two bloodlines can not only perfectly inherit Viltrum’s peak combat power, but also possess the emotional resilience to break through limits."
"I don’t know what your honor signifies, but blindly guarding a tombstone cannot continue our population. What is honor? I still haven’t fully comprehended it myself, so you shouldn’t jump to conclusions too early."
Following his gaze, Anissa glanced hurriedly at Mark, then withdrew her sight.
Mark’s potential was indeed not bad, but in her eyes, he was still just a greenhorn.
Frail, powerless... but indeed much better-looking than the Zerg.
After returning to the manor, Anissa pushed open the door to Lucas’s study directly.
"Have you thought it through?" Lucas closed the ancient tome and looked up at her.
"Not yet." Anissa lifted her chin, her whole body tense, and flames of battle rekindled in her eyes, "Instead, I challenge you! If I am fortunate enough to win, you must return to the old Planet with me and apologize to the Regent. If I lose... the price is no more than a single life!"
Lucas laughed in spite of himself: "Don’t easily gamble with your life. There aren’t many of our kin left, and I treasure every single one of them."
Anissa was slightly moved, but quickly turned cold-faced and sharply rebuked: "Put away your pity! Viltrumites only have strength in their bones; they don’t need cheap sympathy!"
"Very well." Lucas stood up, "Since you insist, then take my blow!"
...
A few minutes later, the two found a desolate grand canyon.
Gale-force winds howled and dust filled the sky.
Much like a Western cowboy showdown, the battle began instantly.
Boom!
Like a female leopard, Anissa caused the ground beneath her feet to collapse a hundred meters with a roar. Her lithe body turned into a residual blur, and her fist struck straight at Lucas’s face!
Lucas’s expression remained calm, using no divine power whatsoever, and suppressing his physical body to the same tier, meeting the enemy purely on his own close-combat skills.
He had also lived for a millennium; he possessed this foundation and combat technique.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Fists and feet collided, sounding like thunder echoing through the canyon.
Anissa’s combat techniques were ruthless and seasoned—elbow strikes, knee strikes, chokes, pulling out all the stops. Yet Lucas’s defense was like an impregnable wall of bronze and iron.
Compared to Conquest, Anissa’s techniques still had a gap.
After giving the opponent enough dignity as a warrior, Lucas finally began his counterattack!
Boom!
With a single punch, he struck right into Anissa’s abdomen, followed immediately by a backhanded knife-hand strike that smashed her entire body deep into the rock wall!
Shattered stones splattered everywhere.
Anissa spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, yet still roared as she lunged back out.
Lucas showed no mercy, flashing over instantly. His fists struck out like a dragon, falling like raindrops, beating this female warrior’s cheeks black and blue and dislocating her bones, until Anissa exhausted her very last ounce of strength.
"A warrior’s honor?"
Lucas stepped forward pace by pace, bent down, and grabbed a handful of Anissa’s sweat-soaked short hair, slowly lifting her blood-stained yet still stubborn face right before his eyes.
