Capturing Astapor was only the beginning.
Over the next half year or so, Daenerys led Khal Drogo’s Dothraki cavalry, along with the steadily snowballing army of the Unsullied, sweeping across Slaver’s Bay.
During this time, Mormont also answered the call of destiny, joining the growing army and even serving as an attendant by Daenerys’s side.
Mormont was truly pathetic; he loved Dany his entire life, yet in the end, Daenerys gave herself to everyone except him!
Afterward, Yunkai and Meereen fell one after another, and all the stubborn Wise Masters were impaled by Hillel and hung on both sides of the roads entering the cities. Not only were the lower-class citizens unafraid, but they even collected the dripping fat roasted from the corpses.
These Great Masters probably never expected that even after death, they would still get to cosplay as Dong Zhuo from another spacetime.
Having slaughtered all the slave masters, the next step was to liberate the millions of slaves across the entire continent. Hillel did not implement a feudal rule of kingship for Daenerys; instead, he established a democratic and republican system.
The Free Cities themselves were similar to the democratic republics of ancient Greece.
Therefore, acceptance was not so difficult. Building upon this foundation, he established a massive Round Table Tribunal, dragging all those once high-and-mighty nobles and remnants of the slave masters right into the center of the court.
Countless liberated freedmen conducted public trials—an alternative version of denouncing local tyrants and fighting sins.
The fall of every slave master was accompanied by earth-shattering cheers.
Through a series of political reforms such as land redistribution, the abolition of classes, and the establishment of a plebeian council, Hillel completely transformed the entire western coast of Essos into a brand-new World.
However, behind the fervent achievements of political reform, there remained a hidden danger that kept people awake at night.
That was the dragon eggs.
Illyrio had sent three fossilized dragon eggs.
Her god told her that three dragons would hatch from the dragon eggs. Daenerys cradled the fossils day in and day out, but no matter how she roasted them with hearth fires or sacrificed blood, the insides of the shells remained utterly dead and silent.
...
At the top of the Great Pyramid of Meereen.
Hillel sat cross-legged, propping his cheek with one hand while drinking iced wheat juice.
Fuck.. I miss Dr Pepper!
"Oh God of mine..." Daenerys’s eyes were slightly red as she knelt before Hillel’s knees. "The dragon eggs... the dragon eggs haven’t stirred in nearly a year. Could the curse be true? Can the Targaryens never awaken dragons again?"
Hillel frowned.
In the original work, the Dragonmother had relied on the funeral pyre of Khal Drogo and the great fire that incinerated the bloodmage for the dragon eggs to hatch in rebirth.
Now that Khal Drogo was two years old, the Red God R’hllor probably saw through his intentions and had no intention of interfering in this matter at all, deliberately retracting his magic and turning the dragon eggs into dead eggs.
"This won’t do at all. If the dragons can’t be brought back to life, didn’t I run this dungeon for nothing? There has to be some passion! Besides, can the Dragonmother even be called the Dragonmother without dragons?"
Hillel communicated with the system in his mind. System, is there any way to save these damn eggs?
[System Notice:Current capability level is insufficient to create magical life out of thin air! However, this World is a medium-magic World, and native sources of magic exist within it. If the purest source of fire magic can be found, it can forcibly stimulate the resuscitation of the life embryos within the dragon eggs.]
Dear System generally only provided clues and was not responsible for coaching or training.
"The purest source of fire magic?"
Hillel paused slightly, then instinctively raised his head and looked toward the Sun through the window of the Great Pyramid.
That’s right!
In this magical World, aren’t the light and heat of the Sun itself the largest and purest source of fire magic?
"I have a plan!"
Hillel reached out and directly pulled the three dragon eggs into his embrace.
"I’m going to hatch the dragons. You go chill a few more cups of wheat juice!"
As soon as his voice fell, Hillel shot up from the ground, transforming into a dazzling stream of light that left a white vapor trail hundreds of kilometers long in the skies above Meereen.
Passing through the thick atmosphere, his surroundings instantly plunged into the dead silence of the cosmic vacuum.
With his hands behind his back and the dragon eggs floating around his neck, Hillel then dashed furiously toward that gigantic star.
He grew closer and closer to the Sun.
The surrounding temperature skyrocketed wildly from thousands of degrees to tens of thousands, and hundreds of thousands of degrees.
A terrifying ocean of plasma churned not far away, and solar prominences tens of thousands of kilometers long brushed past him like fire dragons.
"This Sun is not right!"
Having undergone massive star body-refining, Hillel was extremely familiar with the Sun, but the interior of this great Sun before him possessed extremely formidable fire magic.
He let a little bit of the sunlight in, and the three dragon eggs immediately underwent a change.
Hum~~!
The originally cold and hard stony eggshells were instantly rendered into a translucent crimson-red. In this World, the Sun was definitely the purest and most vast source of magic.
The lifeforms that had slumbered inside the dragon eggs for hundreds of years were directly revived from the ashes.
Thump, thump-thump!
Hillel could hear the heartbeat of the young dragons.
"Well, look at that, it actually works." Hillel grinned, hovering directly on the surface of the Sun.
He stood right there amidst the churning flames, letting the fire magic energy form a storm that completely submerged the three dragon eggs.
The patterns on the eggshells began to flow frantically, and the crimson streams of light appeared exceptionally dazzling under the irradiation of the Sun.
"Just how much energy can you absorb?" Hillel had originally thought the dragon eggs couldn’t withstand the high temperature.
But to his surprise, the life embryos inside the dragon eggs were frantically sucking up the magic.
"Time to hatch!"
After absorbing energy for half an hour.
Faint cracking sounds came from inside the eggshells, and there were even faint, fledgling dragon roars.
Hillel raised an eyebrow. "Mhm, that should be about it!"
Hillel returned the way he came.
A few minutes later, accompanied by a thunderous roar, Hillel descended from the sky, landing dashingly atop the pyramid like Homelander.
"Welcome our god!"
Daenerys was no longer surprised; she had witnessed deities wield great divine power countless times and was endlessly pious about it.
Hillel’s entire body still radiated the residual warmth of a star. Beneath his feet, the three dragon eggs had entirely turned a bright lava-like color, and the surfaces of the eggshells were covered in dense cracks.
Looking like the patterns of fire magic.
Crack, crack!
Crisp shattering sounds rang out.
With a bang!
The three dragon eggs broke out of their shells simultaneously!
Amidst the flying fragments of eggshells all over the sky, three young dragons the size of fierce hounds, their bodies entwined with blazing flames, stumbled and crawled out.
They grew ferocious bone spurs, and their huge membranous wings unfolded to be several meters long, carrying a tyrannical aura far surpassing ordinary dragons right from birth.
But the moment they opened their slit-pupils and saw Hillel, these three magical creatures instinctively let out a whine, pressing their heads tightly against the adamantine ground and trembling like little lambs.
In their perception, the man before them was not human at all.
But rather a god ten million times more terrifying than the Sun.
"The black one is called Drogon, the green one Rhaegal, and the white one Viserys."
Hillel casually gave them names, then looked at Daenerys.
"Get on up!"
Up? Up to where?
Daenerys stood up holding her dress, her little face flushed red.
As a result, the three dragons, with apprehensive thoughts, flew up and stood on Hillel’s arms.
Daenerys was inevitably a little disappointed.
"Oh, make the dragons get on!"
