The Blunt Reaper

Let me ask you this.

If you were given the chance to remember the monster you once were, and gain the power to save others, would you take it?

To murder someone is a grave sin.

In the Underworld, those branded as murderers must pay for that sin by becoming Reapers, guides for lost souls and executioners of the corrupted dead.

Rook is one such condemned Reaper. His duty is simple: guide souls toward reincarnation and slay the Abominations born when the dead lose themselves to corruption.

There is only one problem.

In a realm where every soul possesses a terrifying power, Rook has none.

To slay an Abomination, a Reaper must be able to Cull. And to Cull, they must embrace the way they died and turn it into a weapon.

Those who died in burning buildings can command flame. Those who froze alone upon a mountain can call upon frost.

But Rook cannot remember who he murdered.

He cannot even remember how he died.

And his brand is the darkest and largest ever recorded in the Underworld.

So let me ask you again.
