Onicus blinked and straightened on his shoulder.

"Huh? Above us? In the sky? Are you sure you heard correctly? Could it be some flying beasts?"

Zephyr didn’t answer.

Instead, he used his Psychokinesis skill on himself and lifted himself into the air, floating toward the source of the voices.

Onicus let out a startled cry.

"You can even fly?!"

It watched in amazement as Zephyr rose into the sky, unsteady at first. But after a few moments, he quickly became more proficient, passing effortlessly through the clouds before suddenly coming to a stop.

Behind a layer of clouds, two dark figures floated in the air, chatting and chuckling as they watched something below.

Onicus’s eyes immediately contracted when it saw the familiar pair of bat-like wings.

"Demons!"

Instinctively, it wanted to tell Zephyr to run and save his life.

But then it remembered everything it had witnessed over the past hour.

Instead, the dragon’s eyes lit up with excitement, and its tiny body shot toward the two robed demons.

"Kill them!"

Unfortunately, its body passed straight through them.

Zephyr frowned but didn’t immediately act.

Although the demons couldn’t hear or see Onicus, they were powerful enough to sense Zephyr’s arrival and presence.

The two demons turned around simultaneously, sinister smiles spreading across their faces.

One of them chuckled as his gaze traveled over Zephyr from head to toe, lingering for a moment on his bare upper body, which glistened faintly with sweat.

"Well, well, look what we have got here. A good-looking human just wandered up to us—and he is even naked... Did he come here to offer himself to us?"

Although the demon’s tone was lecherous, his eyes flicked toward his companion, silently signaling him to attack. For an unknown human to approach them so closely without being detected until now was anything but normal. The fact that they had only just sensed his presence made both demons wary.

After all, they were Demon Servants—beings whose strength ranked just below the Demon Generals and the Demon Lord himself. How could they have failed to sense this human’s approach?

The other demon immediately understood his companion’s concern. He let out a low laugh and glanced toward Zephyr. They had originally been watching Erick and the others, but now it seemed they had another problem to deal with—the unknown human who had suddenly appeared before them.

"Yes, what a tempting sight."

The second demon said with a grin.

"A pity we can’t bring him back to the Demon General. He only likes soft types. So, let’s taste him ourselves."

The moment he finished speaking, his figure vanished.

In the next instant, he appeared behind Zephyr, a sharp dark blade already in his hand. Without hesitation, he swung it down toward Zephyr’s neck, intending to cleave his head from his body.

Onicus, who had barely regained its balance after passing through the demons’ bodies, immediately cried out in horror.

"Zephyr!"

At that moment, the scene of its entire race being slaughtered by the demons flashed through its mind. Now, after all these years, even this annoying human it had finally met was about to die at the hands of these vile creatures.

But the sight Onicus feared never came.

The blade never reached Zephyr’s neck.

Instead, it struck an invisible, dome-like barrier and was violently flung backward, taking the demon holding it with it.

The demon cried out in shock as he was sent flying. Even the other demon floating before Zephyr stared in disbelief.

Zephyr slowly glanced over his shoulder, his eyes narrowing.

"Demons really are bad."

Then, for the first time, he called out to the little dragon on his own initiative.

"Onicus, it seems I’ll be fulfilling my promise to you sooner than expected."

Zephyr had wanted to add that Onicus could finally prepare to disappear and rest in peace after this, but given the situation, he decided it was better left unsaid.

Onicus’s eyes immediately filled with tears.

Finally!

After waiting all this time, someone was finally going to make these vile creatures pay! Even if these two demons weren’t the ones who had slaughtered his race, Onicus wanted every last one of them dead.

Fortunately, Zephyr had held back the words he had been about to say. Otherwise, who knew? Instead of tears of emotion, Onicus might have pounced on him and tried to strangle him to death the moment it heard what Zephyr had been thinking.

Zephyr turned his head back toward the demon in front of him.

The next second, his Psychokinesis skill spread outward at frightening speed.

He didn’t bother restraining his mana this time. He simply let it flow like water, allowing the overwhelming force of his ability to envelop both demons—the one before him and the one behind him.

Both demons froze.

Before they could even react, an invisible force coiled around their bodies like countless chains, binding them tightly. Their faces immediately paled with shock and dread as they struggled against the restraints, but no matter how hard they fought, they couldn’t break free.

What kind of terrifying skill was this?!

Before they could even comprehend what was happening, the invisible force violently hurled them from the sky.

They plummeted downward at terrifying speed, cutting through the air before crashing into the ground far below with tremendous force. The impact sent powerful tremors through the surrounding area and left a massive crater in the earth.

Blood spilled from their mouths as they coughed violently, their bodies trembling from the impact. Neither could manage to utter even a single word.

Zephyr’s figure followed after them, floating above the crater as he calmly looked down at the two figures he could sense below.

Then, for the first time, he spoke directly to them.

"Next time, don’t start spouting nonsense the moment you see someone."

He couldn’t see them, yet the two demons felt as though the indifferent gaze fixed upon them from above was radiating an oppressive force that sent chills down their spines.

They wanted to apologize. They wanted to beg for their lives. They even considered offering him a deal.

After all, they were Demon Servants. They possessed countless treasures that could surely tempt any human.
