While Zephyr was processing the power he had inherited, he felt a slight push against his body. This was actually the second time. He frowned but again dismissed it. The force was negligible and posed no threat. After all, he could not see the shadow of the massive dragon floating before him.

Within seconds, Zephyr had completely assimilated the core’s power and mastered the skill contained within it.

Strangely, unlike the knowledge the Gaya System had left in his mind, the skill within the core merged directly with his consciousness. He did not need to make any effort to learn or understand it. The moment the power entered his body, everything about the skill became instinctively clear, as though he had possessed the knowledge all along.

Zephyr slowly opened his eyes.

A hint of darkness flashed across his gray irises before disappearing just as quickly.

Then, he opened his palm, and a tiny icicle made of pitch-black ice appeared above it.

The information about the skill surfaced in his mind.

Frost of the Abyss (S-rank) — An offensive ability left behind by a fallen dragon. It allows the user to create and control dark ice, the strongest form of frost, freezing anything weaker than the skill’s rank. The user can freely shape and manipulate the ice into various forms within their range.

Zephyr closed his palm and muttered.

"It’s a good skill."

The shadow of the dragon before him stared at him with trembling pupils.

That was its strongest skill!

And this human was calling it merely good?!

The dragon consciousness was so fed up that, instead of sealing away its remaining, fading power for the future and continuing to wait for what it had been waiting years for, it used the last remnants of its strength to create a tiny body, determined to have a proper confrontation with this human.

A moment later, a palm-sized dark dragon with golden slit pupils appeared before Zephyr.

It pointed a tiny claw at his nose and attempted to roar in a majestic, furious voice.

"You little greedy thing! How dare you take both of the skills I left in my legacy?! You have a death wish!"

Unfortunately, instead of the terrifying roar it intended, only a childish voice came out.

Zephyr froze.

His mana immediately spread toward the voice, and only then did he notice the small creature before him. He stared straight at it.

The moment the tiny dark dragon met his gray eyes, it abruptly shut its mouth and shrank backward.

It had suddenly remembered what it was.

It was nothing more than a remnant of its consciousness, without even a physical body. The tiny form it had created was made from the last of its remaining power—and could probably disappear if the human before it gave it so much as a light slap.

Suddenly, Zephyr reached out and tried to grab the small creature he had just sensed. Although its words were perplexing, he couldn’t simply let it live if it was dangerous. Not to mention, it had just claimed that the two skills were part of its legacy.

The dragon’s eyes widened when it saw Zephyr’s large hand reaching toward it, and it instinctively tried to run.

However, Zephyr’s fingers passed straight through its tiny body, which he could sense through his mana.

Only then did the dragon remember that its tiny form was nothing more than a construct of energy, allowing physical objects to pass straight through it.

Zephyr frowned.

"What are you?"

The dragon immediately puffed out its chest with renewed confidence and sneered.

"You took both of the skills in my legacy and still dare to ask what I am? I am your master! You greedy human! Bow down to me right this instant!"

While the dragon was speaking, Zephyr had already enveloped its body with his mana. Although he couldn’t physically touch it, he could still bind it and crush it with his energy.

He had recently discovered that his Psychokinesis skill could even work on living beings. Now, he wanted to see whether it would work on a being made entirely of energy.

And he was right.

The dragon’s expression changed when its tiny body was suddenly squeezed within a web of mana. It stared at Zephyr in utter shock.

"What kind of skill is this? Although I have barely a drop of my original power left—not even a soul—ordinary power shouldn’t be able to bind me! Who the hell are you?!"

The dragon struggled desperately, but to no avail.

Ultimately, it shouted in a trembling voice.

"Are you... one of those filthy Demon Generals, hiding behind a human’s flesh?!"

Its eyes filled with fury.

"Haha! How dare you?! After slaughtering my entire race, you even stole the power I left behind in hopes that someone would inherit it and help me avenge my people! I will kill you! Even if I vanish today, I’ll drag you down to hell with me, you demon!"

Zephyr’s mind buzzed at the information contained in the creature’s words. It took him several seconds to process everything.

Once he did, he raised a hand toward the struggling creature, which was still desperately trying to break free.

"Wait. Don’t misunderstand. I’m not a demon. I’m human."

He paused before adding calmly.

"But I did kill a demon a while back."

The dragon’s struggle ceased immediately.

It stared at Zephyr for several moments, suspicion and disbelief flashing in its golden slit eyes. This human, who seemed to possess such a weak aura, had actually killed a demon?

Eventually, it decided to calm down—for now.

Its tone even changed, suddenly becoming somewhat magnanimous.

"Hmph. If you’ve killed one of those vile creatures, then I suppose I don’t mind you taking the skills I left behind. But promise me this—you’ll kill more demons in the future! Those filthy beings who want to bring the entire Universe under their rule!"

Zephyr listened quietly before raising a brow. His voice was indifferent, almost inhumanly calm.

"Why should I do what you say? You’re already dead anyway. Just vanish. As for the skills, we found them, so they’re ours. If you didn’t want anyone else to take them, you shouldn’t have left anything behind."
