Chapter 1702 - 861: Calamity of Japan (Part 3)

  • Next Chapter

A Nine-headed Serpent remnant, reduced to half a skeleton and burning with a ghastly green soul fire, locked its hollow eye sockets onto Xuanyinzi, greedily lunging to devour him.

"Die! Die! Die!"

More distorted remnants, exuding ominous glows, like a school of piranhas smelling blood, abandoned their mutual tearing and chose to vent their fury and voraciously target Xuanyinzi.

Xuanyinzi was overwhelmed with shock and anger, no longer able to pursue Li Yan.

A thick, ink-like Protective Yin Sha erupted around him as he performed a mantra, attempting to summon a powerful Yin Magic Form to resist.

However, faced with the countless, highly ranked, and utterly insane ancient remnants besieging him, he instantly fell into a bitter struggle.

The piercing ghost wails and violent energy collisions incessantly erupted in the fractured space of High Heaven, drowning Xuanyinzi in a tidal wave composed of resentment, madness, and ancient power, leaving him unable to fend for himself.

This sudden, earth-shattering upheaval was a lifeline amidst despair for Li Yan!

He was desperately maintaining his Water Escape state, dodging Xuanyinzi’s deadly Yin Sha attacks while resisting the erosion of the chaotic will of High Heaven itself, consuming his mind significantly, almost to the limits of his strength.

When the space fractured, Ghost Gods broke free, and the chaos of Xuanyinzi’s siege erupted, the lethal pressure locking onto him suddenly eased.

Li Yan spewed a mouthful of clotted blood, enduring the searing pain of his Divine Soul and the burning sensation of wounds all over his body, and instantly disengaged from the Water Escape state, landing on a relatively stable black boulder.

He gasped intensely, quickly observing his surroundings.

Chaos! Absolute chaos!

Space was shattering, energy rampant, numerous powerful remnants tearing at each other, devouring, and furiously attacking every living thing and energy body in sight.

The direction of Xuanyinzi had already become the center of an energy storm.

"A chance!"

A gleam of determination flashed in Li Yan’s eyes.

Without daring to delay for a moment, he summoned his Lifebound Gang Qi, suppressing the surging blood and the insanity-inducing whispers from the demonic qi perception, and once again performed Water Escape.

This time, he no longer fled in a straight line but maneuvered like a slippery mudfish, traversing through the crumbling Skeleton Mountain, the fractured Yellow Springs River, the rampant energy torrents, and the battling remnants shadows.

Several times, he nearly brushed by the furious remnants, feeling the sheer malevolence and aura of destruction making his scalp tingle.

Relying on the Daluo Dharma Body’s natural resistance to spiritual pollution and his masterful control of the North Emperor Mysterious Water Escape, he narrowly avoided disaster.

He didn’t know how long he had traversed through the chaos, as if it had been a century or perhaps only a moment.

Ahead, the chaotic energy currents and wandering evil beings seemed to thin, revealing a relatively "calm" area before him.

This place seemed to have once been an important experiment or sealing site, with the ground inscribed with a large and complex runic array, although most of it had dimmed and been damaged.

At the center of the array stood a black stone tower about three people high.

The tower’s design was ancient and eerie, neither Buddhist nor Taoist, its body carved with countless twisted, agonized faces and strange runes, emitting a chilling aura.

Around the tower base were scattered some broken containers and skeletal remains.

Li Yan could clearly feel that the source of demonic qi absorbed by the Night Crying Man lay within this stone tower.

But not only that, the tower itself seemed to seal more, miscellaneous, and more terrifying origins of demonic qi...
