Chapter 543: Izeal Returns
Izeal grinned viciously as he gazed upon the fragile world of Datar. As an incredibly old True God, he was easily able to tell that the foundation of the world was unstable. Perhaps he could use this as leverage over the Gods of Datar to force them to subdue and hand over Leon without having to do anything himself.
Currently, he was still quite a distance from Datar, but it was not hard for him to send forth his consciousness to scope out the situation.
However, in the next moment, a bright light blinded the vision he was seeing, forcing him to reel back his consciousness.
“Argh! Those bastards also called in True Gods to help them, eh? No matter. I will have my prize in the end.” Izeal’s smile fell off and he grinded his teeth angrily. The other True Gods around him exchanged gazes before turning away. They knew how unstable Izeal was.
They just had to do what they had been requested, and they would reap massive benefits, so that was what they would focus on.
.
.
The remaining time passed by fairly quickly. Leon had a resolute air around him as he and the other combatants that this battle would center around left Datar. He had left behind his entire army, as their individual strengths would be useless against the overpowering might of a True God.
While numbers could pay a difference, even he did not possess dozens or hundreds of Gods among the ranks of his Undead Army.
However, that did not mean that the Undead Army would not play any role in the upcoming battle. One aspect about his powers that Leon rarely used was the empowerment aspect. He could draw in power from each and every summon he had, turning that power into his own, easily raising the ceiling of his strength by many times!
This was something that could be burdensome to him at times, so he rarely used it. But in this upcoming battle, he had every intention of squeezing every bit of power out of this ability in order to gain the power to combat the Paragon of Undeath, Izeal, and possibly defeat him.
“Do not be intimidated, Leon Cromwell. You are strong. We are strong. Together, we will be able to weather this storm and come out victorious. Datar will prevail.” Percival could feel Leon’s nerves and said to reassure him. The other True Gods glanced at Leon and nodded their heads.
“Have faith in yourself, Leon. What did Fate bring you all this way for? Surely, it was not just fattening you up for the slaughter. You were destined for something great. Perhaps it was to cleanse the Paragon of Undeath and bring a balance to the Universe.” Vesper chipped in and the others nodded again.
“Thank you for the vote of confidence. I will do my best.” Leon replied calmly. He turned his attention back to the massive formation that was being created by Royegar. It was an instant teleportation formation that would be able to ensure that if any attack that crossed a certain threshold in power came at Datar, it would be teleported away and sent to a desolate part of the Void.
“Done.” The Bald True God lowered his arms and turned to the others.
“Good. Just in time too.” Nidus grunted and gestured in the direction of several streams of light that were rapidly approaching their position.
“It’s them. Prepare yourselves!” Percival exclaimed and his arms glowed as he summoned his Divine Armaments. The others also took preparations quickly.
Leon steeled his resolve before opening his arms. Invisible streams of power began to swirl around him as he drew in power from his summons in the Mortal Realm and the Celestial Realm. His personal strength that had long since hit the cap of the Major God realm began to shake and tremble as it pushed upon what was allowed.
The fact that he was already able to create energy of a higher tier and quality made it considerably easier for his body to bear the burden of containing power that it was not ready for.
Leon’s presence began to grow exponentially and the light that shone from his chest and skull suddenly flared as he crossed a major life boundary.
Such a sight should have been impossible, but for some reason, it was, and Leon was doing it.
Whoosh!
Within the Void, several figures stopped a short distance away, their eyes bearing witness to Leon’s transformation. The True Gods that had been called by the Paragon of Undeath stared in shock as they witnessed this sight. They had clearly seen that the one that Izeal was after was merely a Major God only moments ago, but now he had become a True God? How?!
“Do not be fooled. He is only a false True God.” Izeal’s cold voice shook their hearts and snapped them back to reality. The three True Gods quickly adjusted their mindsets and looked at the other True Gods that had gathered to fight them.
“They have more True Gods than us.” One of them observed.
“But we are older and have greater accumulation. I can handle two of them.” The strongest among them voiced.
“The two of us should be able to juggle the remaining three while Izeal deals with his prize. We do not need to defeat them. We only need to stall them long enough for Izeal to claim his prize and then we can retreat.” The two others agreed on a plan.
All of this happened within the space of a few seconds. In this time, both sides wasted no time in charging against the opposing side.
The three True Gods that Izeal had called over quickly moved to execute their plan. They overall power seemed to temporarily hold back the five True Gods, however, this was not a situation that would last for long.
Meanwhile, Izeal had a serious expression on his face as he was only moments away from clashing with Leon. His senses were primed, as he was expecting a surprise attack that was meant to throw him off and expose him to an even greater counterattack.
