The Black Necromancer

Chapter 514  Final Test

Chapter 514  Final Test

None of the three newly ascended Gods did not understand what Kaladin meant by unveiling his aura like so. They all knew that the final part of this test would be a big fight.

“I will take on Rainer.” Nero floated forward and pointed at Rainer. A longsword appeared in his hand, glowing with a red light. His aura also rose until it turned into a sharp force of will that threatened to slash apart space itself.

“I can take on Seth.” Grokus also chose his opponent with a small smile. He summoned a massive war hammer in his right hand that glowed with a bloody light.

Kaladin nodded and turned to the only one remaining. “I believe we are left with each other. Let us do our best.” He said calmly.

“Of course. I am eager to see what the best of us are made of.” Oris nodded as well and prepared to fight. The tension in the air continued to ramp up until it had reached a boiling point where it seemed as if the air itself would ignite.

All six beings vanished at the same time and the geography of the center of the island instantly underwent drastic changes. The earth ruptured and the small mountain at the center of the island suddenly cracked in two!

The force that six powerful Gods could exert if they all used their powers at the same time was immense! A small floating island that was not reinforced beforehand stood no chance of withstanding a drawn out fight with all six Gods.

The many creatures that had been able to survive the onslaught of Oris, Seth and Rainer, all scrambled and fled for cover. None of them wanted to face the might of these powerful beings. The aura that they were feeling was already enough to shake their souls!

Because none of them wanted the island to get destroyed, the six Gods all distanced themselves from the island while moving their respective battles away from each other.

Grokus eyes Seth with a curious look as a black smoke slipped out from beneath the scales of the gigantic serpent. Seth’s body rolled and curled in the air, continuously spilling out copious amounts of the black smoke.

“What a strange technique. Smog that saps out the vitality and life essence of anyone who comes into contact with it. It is a marvelous creation.” Grokus murmured but he did not lose focus. As he spoke, he clapped his hands together and four shadows appeared around him. The shadows solidified and formed the bodies of four humanoid figures that had four arms, a head, and four eyes.

Although the four celestial creatures shared the same physique, their skin colors were vastly different. They were red, blue, brown and gray. Each of them represented a basic element.

It had been a long time since Grokus had utilized any of his Slaving powers that he had once used as a mortal before being defeated by Leon. But after ascending to the Celestial Realm, he had brought up the old techniques, improved on them, and used them to create new slaves that would help him better.

“Dispel the smog.” Grokus said and the gray colored slave bowed its head slightly. Its eyes glowed with a white light and a powerful gust of wind appeared from nowhere, swirling around Grokus and its fellow slaves, before shooting at Seth and against the wall of smog. However, unlike what Grokus was expecting, the smog was not even affected in the slightest. It simply absorbed the wind and grew larger.

“The smog is an extension of my being. You cannot simply wave it away.” Seth’s voice, lined with hisses, rang out from the cover of the smog.

‘Oh?’ Grokus was a bit surprised. However, it was not as if he did not have any solutions to that. He snapped his fingers and the four slaves vanished, while a lone slave appeared. This time, it was not a four armed, four eyed celestial being, but a small, hand sized fairy that fluttered around Grokus’ head.

“What can I do for you, Master?” The fairy’s voice was like cool water on a hot afternoon. It was soothing to the ears and the soul.

“Look for yourself.” Grokus said and prepared to charge forward. The fairy did as he said and nodded after a moment. It then turned around and dove into Grokus’ chest, covering his body in a light green corona of light in the next moment.

Whoosh!

Grokus’ large body blurred as he turned into a green comet, diving into the black smog. Seth had not been expecting this, as he had thought that Grokus would be testing the waters for a bit more time.

However, it was not too bad. Seth was not worried. Earlier, he had said that the smog was an extension of his body, and he had meant that. His physical body had turned formless, merging with the smog. He was the smog and the smog was him.

“You shouldn’t have come close, Grokus. You should have studied me from afar.” Seth’s voice hissed through the smog. His senses were one with the smog and he could sense where Grokus was within it.

Grokus waved his hammer around him and the smog gave way. However, instead of making a dent in the smog, the smog simply swirled around the hammer and tried to wrench it out of his grip.

HISS!

Maws lined with sharp fangs suddenly appeared all around Grokus and tried to bite into him, but they were blocked by the green corona of light around him. From a hiss of hostility, they turned into hisses of pain.

“What is that?!” Seth’s face curled in pain within the smog.

“Your powers drain the vitality of objects. This shield around me is formed from pure life essence. It is a manifestation of vitality. Drain as much as you can.” Grokus grinned, his eyes glowing with red light.

“…” Seth’s face curled again as he began to think of a way to bypass Grokus’ defenses. Meanwhile, Grokus was also cooking up a method to deal with Seth.
