Chapter 494 Battle Of Valeant – Goddess of Winter (7)
Leon braced for the attacks of the three Peak Minor Gods that were rushing at him, but he was not alone.
His loyal summon, Grokus, stood by his side. Grokus was eager to prove himself after that failed attempt with dealing with the troll God that Leon had killed after dealing with Darth.
Aside from Grokus, the trio of Ace Candidates, Dyson, Hannah and Dean, also stood around Leon.
Dyson’s hair and eyes glowed with the golden glare of a sun. His fists were curled up and also glowed like mini suns. He felt as if his pride had been stepped upon by letting Leon come and swoop in to bail him out of the earlier situation. The Law of Majesty and Law of Light manifested around him to multiply the effects of his aura and make him seem more domineering.
Beside him, Hannah levitated in the air, her pink hair waving around and five head sized orbs of bright light rotating behind her. Her Law of Stars gave her a mysterious power that was unfathomable and powerful.
As for Dean, his presence was much more subdued than the other two Ace Candidates, but his power was not lacking. His aura was like the calm glow of the moon’s light in the dark. It was complimentary to his two friends’ auras but did not lose out to either of them.
“Let’s deal with this.” Dyson said before dashing forward, turning into a personification of a mini sun. He clashed with the foremost God and both of them came to a standstill. Their auras clashed against each other, resulting in a tense standoff between their auras.
“Strong.” The enemy God said. She had blue hair, eyes and skin and her teeth were pitch black. A frozen aura radiated off her body and threatened to creep onto Dyson where their arms were crossed, but the extreme heat of his own body warded it off.
She pushed off from Dyson and spun around, waving her arm and sending waves of ice shards that rained down around Dyson. She then spread out her Domain, which resulted in a part of the battlefield being dyed in a cold, blue color.
Dyson retaliated, sending out beams of golden light and also unveiling his Domain.
When the two Domains clashed, Dyson found that he was on the losing end, as he was unable to match the comprehension of a much older God that outclassed him plainly in power.
“Tch!” Dyson clicked his tongue and continued to attack from range while trying to close the distance. The enemy simply stayed in the center of her Domain while launching waves of attacks at Dyson.
Whoosh!
She held up her hands and condensed her Divine Power to form an orb of deep blue energy before sending it forward at Dyson.
The speed of the approaching blue orb was nothing special, but a deadly feeling emanated from Dyson’s senses when he looked at it.
‘I have to avoid that at all costs!’ He thought to himself and tried to destroy it before it could come too close. Concentrated beams of Divine Energy that were imbued with the Law of Light and Majesty lanced through the air and blasted into the ball of blue energy, but they all failed to destroy the approaching threat.
“Do not bother with such a futile course of action. My technique is imbued with both the Law of Ice and the Law of Stillness. Such pitiful attacks cannot destroy it.” The voice of the enemy God sounded soft and fleeting, but was filled with coldness and arrogance.
As she snorted at Dyson’s attempts, she suddenly felt a strange feeling come over her. She looked around but was unable to find anything in her surroundings. However, she still kept her guard up.
However, unknown to her, there was a man with dark blue hair and blue eyes standing not far from her. Dean had a small smile on his face as he slowly made his way closer and closer to the enemy God. He opened his mouth and whispered a name. But his words were soundless.
“Nuktar, Goddess of Winter.” Dean’s eyes flashed and he raised his hands, revealing his forearms that were usually covered by the large sleeves of his robes. From within his sleeve, he pulled out a dagger that had a curved blade. On the blade of the dagger, there were mysterious patterns carved into it.
As the name of the enemy left his lips, the patterns on the dagger suddenly lit up and he lunged forward, slicing across the neck and chest of the Goddess of Winter. He slashed and stabbed many times before backing away and leaving the Domain of the enemy Goddess.
It was at that time that a sudden change occurred on the battlefield. A pained scream rang out from within the Domain of ice and snow.
Nuktar’s head was thrown back as a pained scream left her lips. All over her chest and neck, gashes appeared, spewing bright blue blood that froze as soon as it left her body.
Dyson’s eyes flashed as he realized what an opportunity this was. He ignored the blue orb that had begun encroaching on his Domain. As it passed through his Domain it became subject to the power of his Laws.
His Law of Majesty that placed him above others and demanded that he be served began to work on the essence of the orb, forcing it to release power and depleting its strength. It was a slow process and the orb would not be dismantled by the time it reached Dyson, but it was able to reduce its power and slow down its approach.
The Law of Light also acted on the orb and drained its power, counteracting the frozen essence with the light and heat from Dyson’s own power.
Meanwhile, Dyson held his hands together and began to condense his own Divine Power. Seconds passed by but he was not able to create the most powerful technique because he only had a short window to exploit the opening in Nuktar’s defenses.
