Chapter 488 Battle Of Valeant

Chapter 488 Battle Of Valeant

The Primordial Plane of Valeant had no day and night cycle. Instead, the lighting in the sky simply dimmed slightly at intervals. This represented the standard day and night cycle of most worlds. When the light that permeated through the entire plane began to rise in intensity, the many Gods and other celestial beings that had gathered there were already waiting.

Leon stood a distance away from the front of the rank of the Gods of Datar. He remained with his Undead Army at the moment, allowing them to bask in the presence of their master for the time being.

“Master.” Kaladin stopped a step behind Leon and bowed his head slightly. The Obsidian Lightning God’s face was obscured by a mystical hood that gave him a mysterious air. Two points of blue light peered out from the darkness of the hood, making him look even scarier. But before Leon, he was a meek little subordinate.

“How is the army?” Leon asked.

“They are eager to perform. many want to prove themselves in battle.” Kaladin responded.

“What about the Gods and Celestial beings that I recently revived and added to the ranks. How are they coping?”

“They were rather troublesome at the start when you handed them over to me, Nero and Grokus, but they are now meek and willing to obey. Do not worry, Master. They will not disappoint you.” Kaladin said, the light in his eyes flashing ominously.

Some time ago, Leon had tasked Kaladin with handling the Gods that were dissatisfied with being a part of his Undead Army. Kaladin had then sought the aid of Nero and Grokus, as there were some rather notable individuals known for their trouble among the revived Gods. Together, the trio had tamed any unruly thoughts that had been born in the minds of these troublesome Gods and they had become as meek as lambs.

“Good. You did well.” Leon nodded and stared ahead, waiting for the signal that the battle was about to begin.

He did not have to wait for long.

A few minutes after his talk with Kaladin, several distant objects became clear in his line of sight. Shorn and some other Major Gods also rose into the air before rapidly shooting forward, meeting the distant objects midway.

BOOM!

A resounding bang rang out as both sides came to a stop forcibly. Daraya had a vicious grin on his face as he crossed two large swords against the hard scales that covered Shorn’s forearm.

“Are you ready to die?” The powerful Major God sneered.

“It is you who will die in this battle.” Shorn frowned. He felt a difference in Daraya that was not there the previous day.

Bang!

Daraya pulled back one sword and swung it at Shorn, forcing the Dragon God back. At the same time, Shorn’s body rapidly grew but maintained a humanoid appearance. Scales covered the entirety of his body and he grew a tail and two large wings with massive wingspans.

As the two of them faced off, the remaining forces of the Army of Destruction made themselves known as they appeared. Ruth and Deeno stopped a distance away and stared down some other Gods. Five Minor Gods appeared behind those three, leading an army of celestial beasts and Demigods.

No words were exchanged between the two sides before both of them burst into action. The Gods on the side of Datar that had come to Valeant were mostly Minor Gods and they were not many, no more than ten. As for the Major Gods, aside from Shorn and the two other Dragon Gods, Michael, Fazir, and a couple others had come too. The rest had stayed back for the time being, remaining in Datar’s Celestial Realm.

Leon’s Undead Army sprung into action and rushed to fight against the army of celestial creatures that were wreathed with the aura and essence of Destruction.

Leon did not rush in head first. He stood as he was and watched his army run past him and class with the Vanguard force of the Army of Destruction. While the numbers of his Undead Army that could combat at this level were too few that they could not compare with the Army of Destruction, the Gods on Datar’s side helped to even out the playing field, as they outnumbered the Vanguard force on that side.

Immediately, explosions and sounds of weapons clashing filled the air. Leon floated up into the air to take it all in but had to defend himself when a powerful spell infused with Divine Power came flying his way.

“You stand back and watch like you are any better, Skeleton.” A hoarse voice spoke as a shadowy form manifested some distance from Leon.

“Hmm?” Leon looked around and saw that no God came his way to help handle this God from the Army of Destruction.

‘I guess I can use this one to test my strength.’ Leon thought to himself. He was sure that no one came to help because they were also eager to see his strength. He also stopped his summons from coming to his aid after figuring this out.

“You want to feel me out? I can help you with that.” Leon said as he turned to face the Peak Minor God. A deep, heavy aura began to emanate from his body as a purple tint formed around him. His understanding of the Law of Gravity had grown by leaps and bounds. Just being around him when he did not hold himself back would be enough to crush any random celestial being that came too close.

The God from the Army of Destruction also noticed this and instead of feeling apprehensive, he was even excited. A long split tongue snaked out of his dark lips and flicked the air and he grinned widely.

“Come, let me douse your Divine Spark in the Shadows of Death. I am the God of Shadows, Darth. What is your name, Skeleton?” The God hissed in his hoarse voice.

“How about I tell you after I’ve defeated you?” Leon asked, holding out his hand to form a sword made of bone.
