Chapter 479 Final Trial

Chapter 479 Final Trial

Crack!

A crisp crack rang out as Mica stepped on the final creature of this wave, its scales easily giving way under his supreme strength.

“Haha! Few have made it this far! Well done! Now, it is time for the final trial! This time, you will face the ultimate powerhouse of this trial – Myself!”

BOOM!

This time, without even waiting for the five minute break, the whole world shook. A single portal opened up and a powerful Peak A rank aura surged out from it. A humanoid figure with large dragon wings on its back strolled out of the portal with a confident smirk. Behind it, three similar figures with weaker auras walked out before the portal closed.

“I commend your bravery and strength, challengers. If you can defeat me then you would have proven your might and you shall receive the inheritance stored in the Bronze Mausoleum.” The powerful being said, its voice the same as the one that had been speaking since Elena and Mica came into this place.

“As a reward for entertaining us so far, I will give you ten minutes to rest and recover. After that, we fight.” The draconic being said and waved its hand, making a giant clock appear out of thin air.

Elena and Mica wasted no time in sitting down to enter a semi-meditative state in order to boost their recovery. But they communicated through a telepathic connection as they rested.

‘I don’t think we can do this, Mica. They are much stronger than us and they have the numbers advantage.’ Elena shared her worries with Mica. Normally, she would want to forge ahead and try her best but this time, she was a bit hesitant.

“Don’t worry, Elena. No one would put an unbeatable trial. And don’t forget. I’m the Child of Prophecy. Fate is on my side.” Mica reassured Elena.

Soon, the ten minute mark reached and the two challengers got to their feet. The four opponents had remained in the air all this time, looking down at Elena and Mica.

“Are you ready to fight, challengers? Keep in mind that if you lose, you will be trapped here for all eternity. You can still try to challenge us again and again, but it won’t be easy!” The guardian of the trial explained.

“We are ready.” Mica voiced their decision. He turned to share a look with Elena and the two of them nodded. His body began to glow with golden light as his aura steadily rose. A portion of the golden light bled over to Elena and sunk into her body, suffusing her body with the same strength that currently powered Mica.

“Good. Let the final trial begin!” The guardian exclaimed and the three behind him immediately shot forward. Their target was clear – Elena.

‘Careful, Elena!’ Mica called out but did not try to help, instead rising up to the sky to fight against the stronger guardian.

‘You too!’ Elena responded before focusing her attention solely on the three powerful opponents that had set their sights on her. Each draconic being was a Low A rank, the same strength level as herself. This meant that they were not overwhelmingly strong individually, but also that they could easily beat her up if she was not careful. As for the one up in the sky, it was a Peak A rank.

“Your battle is with us, challenger!” The one at the forefront said and stabbed forward with its spear but Elena easily dodged it. One at the back held up its hands and colorful blue fireballs were conjured over its palms, which it promptly hurled at Elena.

BOOM!

Elena escaped into the shadows and quickly left that area as it was engulfed in scorching blue flames. She dipped back into the shadows, reappearing from the shadow of one of the draconic beings and trying to attack it from behind.

But she was repelled as spikes suddenly exploded all over the body of the third one that she had appeared behind.

“Tch!” Elena clicked her tongue and slipped back into the shadows. She was not one for direct combat in most situations, and in a three on one, she would be at an even greater disadvantage.

The three monsters acted with a frightening level of coordination, covering each others weak spots while also trying to exploit any that Elena left as she tried to attack them. Eventually, she had to distance herself from them to reorient herself.

“I’m being too reserved with my attacks. I need to trade blows if I want to deal some serious damage to them.” She decided and her blue eyes turned cold before she slipped back into the shadows to attack.

The mage among the three draconic enemies waved its hands and waves of fire lit up the surrounding areas to limit the shadows that were in the area, which would in turn also cripple Elena’s movement through the shadows.

“I don’t need shadows to fight you!” Seeing this, Elena did not falter. Her eyes were determined as she threw herself out of the shadow that was closest to the one that had its body covered in spikes. Her hands blurred as she tossed out a dozen sharp needles that were covered in shadows. If one looked closer, they would notice that they were not needles covered in shadows, but needles made of shadows themselves!

The spike covered foe she had thrown it at quickly took a defensive posture, but to its surprise, the needles simply sunk into its body without dealing any physical damage.

“Ugh!” A sudden wave of dizziness and weakness flooded its body, causing it to stagger. That stagger was a fatal mistake.

“Got you.” Elena’s eyes flashed as she appeared right beside the draconic monster, her body spinning rapidly and her blades slicing through the weakened scales of the monster.

What she had thrown out earlier were manifestations of her shadows that had been geared to weaken the defensive ability of whatever it hit. It also came with a host of other negative effects that prevented the creature from being able to react on time to her follow-up attack.
