Chapter 474 Glitched Out
Chapter 474 Glitched Out
Rakon pulled himself together and stood tall despite the heavy injuries he had incurred from Curtis’ latest move.
“I have to admit… You are a formidable opponent, Curtis Gladius.” The white haired warrior stated. “But your tricks won’t work on me again. I have gained a good measure of you. You can’t use your abilities so freely, can you?” Rakon grinned, the grin looking menacing and ferocious with his current looks. It sent a chill down Curtis’ spine.
A ferocious red aura began to built up around Rakon, the red aura transforming into the terrifying visage of a gargantuan millipede that reached the top of the dome that isolated the arena.
“Good Gods…” Curtis gaped at the terrifying visage before him. He knew that Rakon was a couple of minor levels above him, sitting at High A rank, while Curtis himself was only at Low A rank, but he had not expected Rakon to release such a burst of power.
“Are you willing to admit defeat, or should I beat you to submission?” Rakon’s voice boomed.
“Hahaha! Don’t count me out just yet! I still have a trump card!” Curtis suddenly laughed and his body began to glow once again.
“Golden Warrior: Adonis Colossus!” 𝑽xt.𝑜𝗆
The golden power in his body suddenly burst outwards, surging upwards and creating a giant humanoid figure that held roughly the same proportions as Curtis’ body. It grew until it was just a few meters shorter than the giant red centipede.
“No more tricks, Rakon! We fight man to man! Whoever loses this round admits defeat!” Curtis’ voice boomed as the giant golden body held up a sword made of the same golden energy.
“At least you think like a true warrior!” Rakon’s voice boomed and the giant millipede formed from red aura solidified around him, turning into red chitin the blocked out everyone’s view of the interior of the millipede.
The millipede let out a ferocious screech and charge at Curtis but the golden boy was ready. He raised his sword up, making the tip point up into the air.
“Act Eleven of the Detonation Code: Concentrated Blow!” A small golden orb formed on the tip of the giant golden sword and he finally pointed it at the charging millipede.
Whoosh!
BOOM!
The air melted apart as a thick golden beam of concentrated energy tore through it in an instant. The giant millipede suddenly twisted its body and changed directions, narrowly dodging the attack.
“Act Six of the Demolition Code: Rigged Explosion!” Curtis held out his arm in a guarding stance as the mandibles of the millipede closed around his arm that held his sword. The body of the Adonis Colossus glowed briefly before exploding in a flurry of light.
But the explosion completely missed the giant millipede as it vanished and appeared behind the giant golden warrior, biting into the leg of the warrior.
“Argh!” Curtis grunted in pain as the giant golden warrior fell to one knee. The giant sword swung out in an arc, forcing the giant millipede back, which continued to circle around like a hunter looking at prey.
“Did you think it was that easy? I am not just a warrior. My attainments in magic are not something that you can easily match with brute force.” Rakon mocked before rushing back in for the attack.
The White Millipedes in the stands stared eagerly, waiting to see Curtis fall. But in the next moment, he shocked them all.
“GLITCH!”
The massive body of the Adonis Colossus abruptly disappeared and Rakon’s mandible clasped nothing.
“What?!” Rakon was taken aback when he suddenly felt a small but concentrated force slam into his back. His senses screamed in alarm when he spotted a small, four meter tall golden humanoid running along the length of his giant millipede body. But that was not all he saw. Over a dozen other four meter tall golden humanoids were scattered all over the arena, charging up an attack.
‘I must not let them succeed!’ Rakon’s mind scream in alarm as he raised up the front half of his gigantic body. Several legs immediately detached from his body and turned into powerful homing missiles that charged down each of the golden humanoids.
“Act Eleven of the Demolition Code: Concentrated Blow!!!” All the golden figures suddenly yelled at the same time and over a dozen golden beams shot out, slamming into Rakon’s body from various angles.
Despite the reduced size of the humanoids, the strength of their attacks seemed to have not taken any blows. Each and every beam easily broke through the red chitin that made up the exoskeleton of the giant millipede.
The millipede raised its head upwards and let out a pained screech, its body thrashing in agony as powerful foreign energies rampaged through it.
Meanwhile, the last golden humanoid that was on the millipede’s body ran up along its length until it reached the head of the millipede.
“Have fun with this. Act Eleven of the Demolition Code: Concentrated Blow!” Another beam shot into the head of the millipede. This one was much more powerful and bore right through the head before shooting down and into the ground of the arena, destroying it even more.
SCREEEECHHHH!
A pained screech bellowed through the arena before the giant red millipede froze. The red chitin that made up its body seemed to turn illusory. Parts of it began to fall off before turning into red mist and dissipating.
Thud!
Amidst the mist, something fell to the ground and Curtis’ eyes flashed. He immediately rushed in, wanting to confirm Rakon’s defeat. He landed on the ground and looked around but was unable to find Rakon’s body.
‘Damn, that guy is tough.’ Curtis cursed as he raised his guard and looked around.
But he failed to notice the faint light that glimmered in the mist behind him. Red eyes flashed and a shadow moved, rushing right at Curtis from behind.
Curtis had failed to recall that Rakon was an expert at Mind magic. Under the intense stress that he had been put through, such an important detail had completely slipped his mind. Or perhaps, that was also the working of Rakon…
