Chapter 467 The Three Ace Candidates
Seeing that the man she had come to see was in deep meditation, the girl sighed and made her way over to his bed before laying down on it. The next couple of hours was spent doing nothing but sighing and rolling around on the bed. She had absolutely nothing to do.
“Shouldn’t you be meditating?” The man sitting at the center of the room suddenly spoke up when the two hour mark passed by.
“Dyson!” The pink haired girl jumped up from her position on the bed, her eyes gleaming.
“What do you want, Hannah?” The man rose to his feet slowly, showing off his build. He had long golden hair that reached down to the middle of his back, a back that was well defined with muscles finely sculpted. On top of his head, two tufted ears poked out from his long hair and behind him, a lean, long tail slowly waved.
Waves of power radiated from Dyson’s frame, almost as if it was begging to be let out. When he looked at Hannah, his deep golden eyes pinned her in place.
“I just came to see how you were doing. After all, you haven’t come out of your cave for the past week. You know there is little for us to gain here in the mortal realm again.” The pink haired girl pouted and looked back at Dyson.
“…”
A silent moment passed before Dyson turned away.
“I wanted to finish my meditation first. We can head there whenever you are ready. We will meet with Dean first, though.” He said as he left the cave, making his was through the tunnels to another room and leaving Hannah behind.
“Great! I’ll give Dean a heads-up!” Hannah exclaimed and ran out of the cave.
Meanwhile, Dyson made his way to another room that had a natural spring in it. The water ran down into a large pool that flowed through some naturally formed pathways to escape the room again.
At the bottom of the pool, a golden orb was embedded into the ground. The orb was placed by Dyson and allowed him to manipulate the temperature of the pool as he wished.
Shuaaa! πΈπ£πxt.ππ
Steam rose from the surface of the pool as Dyson disrobed and stepped into it, easing his body down. At this stage, he did not need baths as he could keep his body clean without conscious effort, however, this was a habit he had formed over time. Even if he did not need it, he did it to keep to his habits.
“Ah…” Dyson let out a small sigh as he settled into the steaming hot water. To him, it was nothing, but if a normal A rank got in here, then they would be badly burnt. The water that ran through here had magical properties, but that was not enough to keep it from evaporating at the intense heat. Dyson also used high level magic to keep the water extremely hot without evaporating. Just a light haze of steam hung in the air.
Dyson leaned his head back and his mind got to work. He was supposed to be resting, but this was how he rested. He thought about the future, his future plans and such. But right now, his mind was on something else.
‘Leon Cromwell.’
The name of the most prominent individual in the world in the past couple of years passed through his mind.
Dyson was well aware that this Leon Cromwell was an Ace Candidate such as himself. A special individual that had been handpicked to serve as the future protector of Datar.
‘I don’t see why he felt the need to pull so much attention to himself. I guess it worked out for him, but there was a chance that things would have turned out badly.’ Dyson thought to himself, opening his golden eyes to star at the stone ceiling above him. Several orange glowing crystals illuminated the room well.
Whoosh.
Dyson sunk into the water and swam a short distance before resurfacing in the center of the pool. He raised his hand to rub his chin.
‘Faith… I have sent out a few probes to the Cromwell Empire, and the level of Faith that his people hold in him is actually quite amazing. Could that have been his goal all along? To gather loyalists that are interested in his amazing story and would look up to him?’
Dyson’s mind ran at incredible speed, thinking up all possible patterns. He just could not see the true goal behind the actions taken by the Ace Candidate called Leon Cromwell.
‘Well, I guess I should be able to meet him when I reach the celestial realm.’ Dyson thought to himself and got back to enjoying his long, hot bath.
An hour passed before Dyson emerged from the pool of water. His body radiated a godly aura as he basked in the heat that had enveloped the room.
Just as he was putting on his robes, the sound of footsteps reached his ears. However, he had already been aware of the entrance of Hannah and Dean, the two other newly ascended Gods among the Ace Candidates.
Crack.
Someone stepped on a loose stone just before the two people he had sensed entered to room.
“Bah! Do you really have to heat up the room to these absurd temperatures just to take a bath?!” Hannah’s voice exploded as she waved her hand in front of her face.
The man beside her simply chuckled, placing a hand on her shoulder. “It is his choice, Hannah. After all, we could have simply waited outside for him to meet us.” He turned his attention back to Dyson. “Hello, Dyson.”
“Dean.” Dyson nodded his head and fastened his robes before stepping forward.
The new arrival, Dean, was a person with a calm demeanor. His entire aura oozed of someone who seemed to just go with the flow of things. He had a head of dark blue hair and blue eyes to match. His fairly dark skin and the glowing blue patterns on his skin made him someone easy to pick out among a crowd, though.
