The Black Necromancer

Chapter 443 Strange Creature

Chapter 443 Strange Creature

Leon stared, jaw slack, as a Divine Fragment that radiated the same energy as that of the strongest herbivore was spat out of the portal. He watched as five more Fragments that were similar but weaker to the first one appeared from more portals that were generated over the spots where the bodies of the herbivores previously were.

As Leon watched, a sudden thought crossed his mind.

‘Wait, if the fragments are coming through those portals, then what of the ones I’m supposed to have?!’ He quickly looked into his dimensional space and was relieved when he found that all the corpses still had their Divine Fragments inside them.

‘…Then how?’ Confusion was the most prominent emotion in Leon’s mind as he struggled to think up a reasonable answer.

‘Time? Space? Both?’ Leon’s interest in this Celestial creature went up as he thought of the possibilities. If he could get his hands on a celestial creature that had developed Divine Fragments of these two Laws, then the things he would be able to accomplish… Just thinking about it sent shivers down his spine.

After the Divine Fragments had finally appeared, the spatial portals that they had come through disappeared while another one that gave off a very different feel appeared, swallowing them up. Happy, the fawn turned around and was about to leave when the ground beneath it suddenly gave way, morphing into a puddle of black energy. Hands came up from the ground and grabbed onto the legs and body of the fawn.

A startled bleat left its mouth as this happened, but many years of survival instincts kicked into action.

Before it was completely wrapped up by the black hands, everything in a five meter radius suddenly stopped moving except for the fawn itself. Leon’s eyes widened as he witnessed something he had only seen once before, but obviously much more powerful. It was a Time Stop Domain!

The Demon High General had once shown off an ability like this, but it was much weaker and caused a lot more strain on the user. Obviously, this celestial creature was able to use this Domain as easily as eating and breathing.

It quickly tore apart the black hands and was about to run when Leon finally appeared in front of it. He also spawned two clones to help him better corner the creature.

“Come now, no need to fight, I won’t kill you.” Leon tried to approach it in a less threatening manner.

“Did you think about approaching me in a more friendly manner before trying to capture me?” All of a sudden, the fawn spoke up in a soft and immature voice. It’s eyes carried a blatant look of distrust and irritation.

Leon was taken aback for a moment. He was not expecting it to be able to speak, as the other celestial creatures had not uttered a single word ever since he came across them.

“I didn’t know you were able to converse like this or I might have.” Leon replied but he did not relax one bit. Finding out that it was this intelligent meant that it was even more dangerous. It surely had many tricks up its sleeve.

“You are not the first to try to capture me. I am sure you won’t be the last. Come and try it.” The fawn suddenly said and stomped its front hooves into the ground. The space within the cave trembled greatly and Leon prepared himself to fight. He was sure that this celestial creature was infinitely close to bridging that gap that prevented it from forming a Divine Spark and becoming an actual God.

Crack!

The ground shook and a spatial fissure appeared behind the fawn, which it jumped into.

“Haha! See ya, sucker!” The spatial fissure closed up, leaving Leon standing there, looking like a fool. Leon paused and began laughing, realizing how the fawn had played him for a fool. It definitely possessed some measure of combat ability, but as such a rare creature, it was sure to have also formed some escape abilities too, to help it avoid unwanted fights.

“Can’t believe I fell for that.” Leon shook his head and turned to leave the cave. His interest was burning hot after that. Surely, he would find a way to capture that celestial creature and have it serve him.

With the flames in his skull burning hot, he walked deeper into the forest to look for more prey to hunt while keeping all thoughts of the fawn at the back of his mind.

In the Mortal Realm…

“Father…” Damian sighed as he watched his father. The old King laid on his bed, his face pale and aged. He was currently unconscious and resting.

“Let His Majesty rest, My Prince.” The Head Physician that personally tended to Damian’s father came and rested her hand on his shoulder with a soft and pitiful expression.

“You are right. I should get some rest as well.” Damian said and was about to get up to leave when he felt a soft squeeze on his hand. His eyes widened and he turned back to his father. The old Elf’s eyes cracked open a bit and tears came to Damian’s eyes.

“Father…”

“My… my son…” Raymond coughed slightly. “Well done.” He gave a strained smile.

“Father, what’s wrong? Tell me and I will find a way to make you well!” Damian grasped his father’s hand tightly.

“Ah, don’t worry, son… Cough cough!” Raymond coughed a bit. “It’s just the stress.” He smiled again. 𝗈𝒱xt.𝒸𝐎

“Stress?! Stress can’t do so much to you!” Damian could not believe his ears. Did his father think him to be that gullible?

“Hahaha!” Raymond suddenly laughed loudly, but it was followed by another coughing fit.

“You see, it’s not that. It’s just that all the stress I had felt for a long time suddenly left my body all at once when Empress Vera ascended the throne. It was like opening the floodgates without warning and sent my body into a perilous state. I will recover, though. But I will not assume my position as King again.” Raymond gave an honest explanation. Even the physician at the back looked at him as if he was speaking rubbish. Was her entire profession a joke to the king?
