Chapter 370 Be Your Big Brother?!

“RETREAT???”
As Leon was discussing with the leader of the Ten Knights, a powerful force blew through the air. All the dust and smoke that lingered in the air was blown away as Garr’s body slowly rose into the air. His aura was wild and blazing. It almost easily pushed away Grokus’ curse that prevented him from healing properly.
The moment the curse was gone, the charred and burnt flesh and the broken bones of his body healed in moments.
“We must! Our army is no match for theirs!” Ashtar replied. His body was also quickly healing after he expended a few powerful treasures.
“Cowards!” Garr growled but his body floated back. He was also unwilling to fight Leon right now. He had not expected Leon’s summons to be so powerful, and now, even more soldiers had appeared to fight on his behalf. He would need to consult his patron God first.
“Stop him now.” Leon ordered the Ten Knights and they immediately sprung to action.
Garr saw this and his dark eyes widened. Without speaking, he waved his hand and a dark red magical formation appeared across his skin. With a flash of light, he vanished from the battlefield.
“Ha! Coward!” Leon scoffed when he saw that Garr had shamelessly escaped after running his mouth and calling the other Demons cowards.
It was quite a shame that he had failed to kill the troublesome Undead King. He would surely come to cause trouble for Leon in the near future. Leon could tell. If only he had prioritized killing him off before talking with the Ten Knights.
“My Lord, we have failed you.” The Knights came back, their heads bowed, disappointed in themselves.
“It’s fine.” Leon was casual about it. In fact, he did not feel as if there was any need for him to worry about Garr in the future. His strength on an overall scale had completely surpassed Garr’s! Whether it was the scale of his army, or his personal strength, he was sure that Garr was unable to match up to him in any way!
Leon watched the retreat of the Demons for some time before turning around and leaving. He ordered his summons to make sure they killed as many of they could. There was no way he would miss out on the chance to weaken the Demon Army after he had missed out on killing Garr.
Dozens of powerful A ranks that served Leon fearlessly charged ahead and engaged the enemy. While most of the Demons’ A ranks were able to flee, there were a few unlucky ones that were held back and made short work of by Leon’s summons. Those ones would be brought back to him so that they could be turned into summons.
“I didn’t get to see you fight.”
As Leon was retreating to the forward base, Yaika quickly caught up to him.
“There was no need for me to fight myself when my summons had it under control.” Leon replied as he slowed his pace a bit.
“Look…” Yaika started but paused.
Leon had a bad premonition. “What is it?”
“You have a human form, right?” Yaika asked.
“…Yes. Is there any problem?” Leon asked slowly. The bad feeling he had was steadily growing worse.
“Well. I want to adopt you as my older brother!” Yaika suddenly exclaimed, stunning Leon. It was an entirely different thing from what he expected.
“What?! How old are you?!” Leon blurted out, unable to hold back the words.
“Um…” Yaika paused and counted her fingers. “Fifty-three?” She said after a while.
Leon paused midair. He was surprised she was so young, actually. He was expecting she would say she was in her seventies or even worse. After all, with magic, she could easily make herself look much younger.
“Well, that means I’m your younger brother. I’m just twenty, almost twenty one.” Leon said and continued moving.
“Whaaaat?!” Even Yaika was stunned by how young Leon was. Yet he was so powerful.
“Yes, I’m that young. Which means I can’t be your older brother.” Leon replied.
“Pssh! That doesn’t matter. What matters is the sentiment! If you say you’re my older brother, then you are!” Yaika rushed forward and slung an arm over Leon’s shoulder.
“But I’m not.” Leon sighed.
“Says who? You? Bah! I don’t care what you say!” Yaika snorted with a shameless expression as she continued pestering Leon.
Eventually, the two reached the forward base, which was very busy at this time. Many wounded soldiers had already been sent back for treatment, while the dead were being taken care of as well.
Strong healers moved around and attended to those that were grievously wounded, while the weaker healers were busy with those that were less badly injured.
Leon took one look at all this and waved his hand. The priests that he had in his undead army appeared, and under his orders, they got to work with healing the injured. At this point, with their Pseudo-A rank strength, their heals were very effective, and they were able to heal shattered bones and injured internal organs with simple waves of their staves or hands.
Leon and Yaika arrived at the forward base where most of the A ranks had already begun returning to. They were among the first, along with the weaker A ranks like Jet and Nasir. The A ranks from the Empire of Light were still busy fighting heatedly with the powerhouses from the Demon Continent. Their hatred ran deep.
In the eyes of the citizens of the Empire of Light, and many other places, the Demon Continent was where most of the evil of the world came from. As such, these powerhouses like Amelia had been indoctrinated from childhood on how the Demons were their enemies, no matter what situation they found themselves in.
This rule applied not just to Demons, but also to most beings that utilized Unholy energy and Dark magic in general.
Leon sighed and shook his head. These people were too intense.
