Chapter 353 Raising A Thousands-Strong Army
Leon nodded his head when the fight came to an end. He was impressed. Although the new Obsidian Skeletons were able to display enormous strength, they were unable to unleash mass destruction as a proper powerhouse that stood at the Peak of B rank could. However, that would change with time. Already, they were quite impressive.
Leon turned around and left the arena after that. He did not reveal his presence because there was no need for that. Now, he had something else on his agenda. He had already dragged it on for a long time now.
Leon’s figure blurred, and in the next moment, he appeared in a large open basin in the earth that was several dozen kilometers away from Fort White. The basin was a natural formation where a lake had been before the destruction brought by the Great Shift. It was about two kilometers long and one kilometer wide. It was quite deep as well.
He stretched out his hand and the air around him turned a shade darker as his Domain partially spread out. Tens of thousands of souls that he had been keeping within the Abyss of the Undead for some time now surged out, filling the basin. It was not on a physical level, but rather, a spiritual level.
“Rise and do my bidding.” Leon muttered as a flood of mana immediately surged out of his core and wrapped around every soul that was present. There were souls that belonged to beings of various strengths when they were alive, ranging from Low C rank to Peak A rank. Naturally, there was only one Peak A rank, and that was Onyx.
The ambient mana in the surrounding began to boil so hot that in the eyes of anyone who looked from afar, it would look as if a black flame was burning within the basin. Leon stood at the mouth of the basin with his arms spread as he controlled the mana like an orchestra conductor.
Gradually, the mana within Leon’s body mixed with these souls, undergoing a unique transformation that went beyond what an average Necromancer was able to do. Leon did not know, but his method of necromancy was much different from that of the average Necromancer. It was this unique method, that only he had, that was able to give him a leg up over others.
Even with Leon’s new strength, it took half an hour for him to completely transform all those souls into his new summons. It took an especially long time to transform the High A ranks like Garrix and the souls he had acquired from the Labyrinth of Madness, as well as Onyx’s Peak A rank soul.
“Ha…” Leon sighed tiredly when the process was finished. Such a large amount of mana leaving his core so suddenly was quite stressful.” He looked around as he took in the army before him. Although their strength was not exactly on par with his main force, they were still a force to be reckoned with on their own!
Especially the figure of the Peak A rank at the front!
“Onyx.” Leon called out to the Peak A rank. After being turned into a summon, Onyx’s figure had changed somewhat. He was still tall and built, but his sharper features had lessened and he looked less menacing. Perhaps it was his subservience to Leon that was making Leon mistaken these things.
The summon came before Leon and fell to one knee. “I thank you for freeing me from those shackles. I thought you were serving the Beast God, Dardan and his allies.” Onyx immediately said. Although he had been turned into a summon, he still possessed his free will and memories, so he did not hesitate to thank Leon.
“You are very welcome. You were a pain to handle, though.” Leon crossed his arms.
Just then, the space beside him fluctuated and Michael appeared. The God looked at Onyx with a smile and stepped forward, happy to see another old friend.
“Marcel.” He greeted. “It has been a long time. I am happy to see you again.” He hugged Onyx. Onyx’s former name had been Marcel before the incident.
“Michael, is that really you?” Onyx had wide eyes as he was too stunned to return the hug.
“Indeed it is. It has been too long. I am sorry I am only just doing something about your situation. I had no idea Dardan had turned you all to monsters. I believed they had killed you and let you go into the cycle of reincarnation.” Michael stepped back, his tone falling a bit.
“…” Onyx sighed. “I will not say it is fine, but I believe we can work past it. It is good to be back.” He smiled.
“That is great.” Michael nodded and snapped his fingers. Dibella and Dizen appeared behind him. The two A rank lovebirds looked at Onyx with expectant eyes. Michael had already briefed them about him.
“Marcel!” Dibella did not hesitate to rush forward, not caring for Onyx’s demonic features. She had been a spider, of all things, after all.
“Brother.” Dizen also came forward with his hands folded behind him and a smile on his face. He was wearing a robe with a sleeve that only covered one shoulder, leaving the other side open. It made him look like a monk, which when coupled with his attitude and his affinity for many elements, it truly fit him.
“You two… Who are you?” Of course, Onyx could not recognize them, but the fact that they knew him and were so friendly was enough for him to know that they belonged to the same Era as him.
“Rebecca and Darwin.” Michael replied. “They now go by Dibella and Dizen, just as how you go by Onyx now.”𝒪𝗏𝔩xt.𝔬𝐌
“Oh, I see.” Onyx said as he absently returned the hug that Dibella had given him. He felt a sort of relief that he never thought he would feel. His stone cold heart that had long since been frozen over by the difficulties he had faced in the Labyrinth of Madness was cracking.
“Now, let me restore you to your own person.” Michael said as he opened his hands and a silver light glowed from them.
