The Black Necromancer

Chapter 256 Joint Army

Hummmm!

A giant transportation gate appeared over a specified formation in a certain remote and highly protected area within the Gublin Empire. Rows upon rows of Imperial Soldiers stood in line as they awaited the expected people from the Dura Kingdom.

The portal rippled as rows upon rows of soldiers wearing the light green garbs of the Dura Kingdom marched through the transportation gate. Halberds, spears, and poles holding the flag of the Dura Kingdom were held up high as the soldiers marched out of the portal in the thousands.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The mana powering the portal flared brightly for a moment as a heavy thud resounded through the area. The earth underneath the soldiers’ feet shook, but they did not falter, as they had already been briefed not to worry.

Step by step, a giant hill sized being of solid rock passed through the transportation gate. Only when it had come through did the soldiers notice the beautiful, white castle that was affixed into the golem’s backside.

At the top of the castle, a single man stood, long blond hair fluttering in the wind and bright blue eyes eager.

‘Last time, I was too weak to make a difference. This time, the world shall see the might of Dura!’ Damian promised himself in his mind while taking a look around. He instantly spotted the spatial barrier that had been put off to hide this secret location. Without a special key, no one would have access to this space. ‘This is some high tier magic!’ He was instantly astounded.

“Welcome to the Gublin Empire!” Some distance away, a middle aged man with a thick, brown beard and a burly figure called out. He stood in front of the Imperial Army of the Gublin Empire and looked up at Damian with an excited look.

‘Oh, I have to go down to greet.’ Damian’s body blurred and he appeared a few feet away from the man a few moments later. Now that he had come down to the ground, and was standing so close to the man, he could clearly see that the man was very large, well around three meters tall!

The burly man had no visible tail, but there were two small, round ears on the top of his head. His grin was ferocious, but friendly, and his arms that were crossed over his chest were large and buff, like logs of wood.

‘Is he… a bear?’ Damian wondered to himself as he sized up the man.

“Hello! The name’s Patrick!” The burly man said, extending an arm for a handshake.

“Damian. A pleasure to meet you.” Damian shook his hand. When Patrick grabbed a hold of his arm, Damian instantly got a bad feeling, which was closely followed by the sensation of his shoulder being pulled from its socket as Patrick swung their hands wildly in a handshake.

“I suppose we will be working together, huh? Well, let’s get this show on the road!” Patrick said, gushing with enthusiasm as he finally let go of Damian’s hand.

“Uhh..” Damian chuckled slowly as he realized that Patrick most likely was a bear.

“Commander.”

Just then, a young, female Elf stepped up behind Damian.

“Ah, Ness.” Damian turned around with a smile to address his second in command.

“The troops have all come through.” Ness said with a serious nod.

“Good.” Damian turned around to look at the soldiers from the Dura Kingdom. ‘This many soldiers will lead to a considerable gap in the army of the kingdom. I must do my best and return with as many as possible!’

The Dura Kingdom had sent twenty thousand soldiers to assist in the war effort to the Gublin Empire. While this was not a particularly large number, what made this force considerable was the fact that the weakest soldier was only C rank!

While the army only features Damian as its legitimate A rank, the number of strong soldiers was quite high! That was the reason why Damian was worried about the hole that this number would create in the army of the Dura Kingdom. If Rivera struck them at this time, then it would be catastrophic!

“Your father told us that he would send a strong force, but this is beyond our expectations! Truly, the Dura Kingdom is a reliable ally!” Patrick suddenly exclaimed.

“Thank you. We also see the Gublin Empire as a reliable and trustworthy ally. This is all to show our sincerity.” Damian responded smoothly.

The Gublin Empire was one of the Dura Kingdom’s allies, but they mostly only dealt with trading and commerce. By being so earnest and sincere in their efforts to assist the Gublin Empire in the war efforts, they Raymond hoped that the Gublin Empire would also assist the Dura Kingdom when the time came. He hoped that they could help to take some load off the Dura Kingdom in regards to the tightening pressure that Rivera was putting on them.

Patrick nodded his head enthusiastically without ever dropping the wide grin on his face. As one of the top officials in the Gublin Empire, and someone who held a post on the council, he held a lot of sway in how decisions made by the emperor turned out. He obviously knew of the situation that the Dura Kingdom was in, so when he heard Damian’s earnest tone, he was happy.

‘Perhaps I should put in more effort into how we support the Dura Kingdom. Military support is something they are direly in need of.’ Patrick thought to himself.

“Alright! Let’s power up another transportation gate!” Patrick roared and clapped his hands, creating a loud sonic boom that shook up the earth. He turned to the mages on the side that handled the mechanism of creating the transportation gates. The mages immediately got to work.

Bzzt!

Hummmm!

The air became charged with mana as the stability of the space in the area was manipulated. With a buzz, a golden transportation gate was created in the open space before the combined army.
