The Black Necromancer

Chapter 251 Getting A Beatdown

“Your summons are really strong. I want them for myself!” The A rank Demon, Londo, suddenly exclaimed and shot forward. The chains that stretched out from his back swung wildly as they stabbed forward at Leon.

Leon waved his hand a a barrier appeared between the two of them. The barrier quickly shattered under the power of the chains, but it managed to buy enough time for Leon to get out of the way of the mad Demon.𝑜𝔳𝐞𝔩xt.𝗈

Londo made another round and spread out his chains. The chains flashed and appeared behind Leon, wrapping around his leg and dragging him down.

“Ugh!” Leon let out a grunt as the chain slammed him into the ground and proceeded to drag him through the dirt. A flurry of spells rained down on Leon as he was dragged through the ground. The spells had a special effect to them that shook his soul and mind, making it harder for him to regain his composure.

[Your Title: <Supreme>, has taken effect. +150 Intelligence!]

With the sudden boost provided by Leon’s Supreme Title, a sudden clarity came over his mind. The stun effect of Londo’s spells immediately lost their hold on Leon’s mind, allowing him to form a proper defense and retaliate.

Leon’s body spun rapidly as he twisted off the hold of the chain. The spin damaged his ankle, but the damage was healed in mere moments. A flurry of spells exploded from his body, chasing after Londo.

The Demon Necromancer had been speaking of how weak other Necromancers were physically when compared to Leon, but the Demon was not so bad. Whatever he had done to his body had made him incredibly quick and strong. The chains on his body were also very powerful, and when he moved, Leon was able to glance several runic inscriptions on his back. The chains extended from the glowing inscriptions, which clued Leon in on the special nature of the chains.

‘If I can somehow shut down those runes, then I can make him much more vulnerable in close range.’ Leon thought to himself as he was repelled yet again by the chains after he rushed in close to get some hits in.

Leon’s perception of the world changed at that moment. He activated the Spell Weaver skill and pushed its performance to the maximum. Behind the head piece of his armor, the purple flames in his skull blazed with greater ferocity and power.

The raw, most basic form of mana became exposed to Leon, vulnerable to his smallest whims.

“Break for me!” With a pull of his hand, a chain of mana that held the runic formations together snapped. The effect was immediate.

“What?!” Londo was caught off guard as the chains that reached for Leon disintegrated. But he quickly regained his composure. He was a battle hardened war veteran and this was not his first time encountering such a setback.

Ice Javelins were created from thin air, as Londo manipulated the humid air, and sent forward at Leon. Leon dodged the first lance, but just as he did, the ice lance exploded, peppering him with shards of ice.

The force of the explosion sent Leon stumbling away, but in the next moment, he felt a sharp chill bite into his bones, and he looked down at his armor.

Patches of blue ice covered sections of his armor, and the chill that the patches held was beginning to spread through the armor and seep into his bones.

‘This…!’ Leon was alarmed. He had not yet come across a troublesome enemy such as this before. Part of the reason why was because the enemies he had been fighting till this point were mostly just young ‘geniuses’, who had an astounding growth rate and talent, but relatively little experience in relation to true combat and war.

The disparity in experience was stark as Leon and Londo continued to fight. Londo used an impressive amount of spells that were derived from basic elements to torment Leon. No spell was simple or straightforward. There was always a twist to it.

The fight truly made Leon feel hopeless. Not even his Spell Weaver could see through everything, as Londo proved to be much more proficient in shaping his spells in a way that Leon could not decipher every part of the spell before it had been cast.

‘If things go on this way, then I will lose!’ Leon realized this with dismay. The thought of losing did not sit well with him. When last was he forced to run from an enemy? The last time he had ran from an enemy that he could not beat was when he was still a measly little Obsidian Skeleton Soldier. That time, he could not hold a candle to the powerful Ghost Millipede Soldiers.

Leon’s mana surged as he tried to put up a better defense against the unending barrage of Londo’s spells. While he was busy fending off the spells, the Demon Necromancer had repaired the runes on his back, and restored his chains. The restored chains soared forward with strength and speed, slamming into Leon’s back and sending him rolling.

Leon rolled into a patch of mud that had been created by Londo. The earth quickly softened and Leon was captured. He struggled to escape, but before he could go far in his struggle, he felt a surge of mana swell underneath him.

‘No!’

Boom!

A massive explosion shook the wall in the backdrop of their battlefield. Eyes were drawn by the massive explosion, and those who looked saw Londo preparing another massive spell to throw down on Leon.

“Hahaha! I will make sure to treat you well when you become my servant!” Londo cackled madly and lobbed a massive red fireball at the cloud of smoke that had yet to dissipate from the last explosion.

However, something shocking happened.

The fireball disappeared!

“What? How?!” Londo was shocked. It was then that he felt multiple powerful presences up in the sky. He looked up with surprise and spotted four A rank humans, all with identical looks.

“The Armstrong Family is here!”
