The Black Necromancer

Chapter 207 Nox Vermillion

Several figures stood around a table. Some of them were not physically present but used a form of magic to project their figures across a ridiculous distance in order to attend the current meeting.

At the head of the table, a small figure that stood at around five and a half feet, could be seen. It was a male, and two large wings sprouted from his back. His dark face was revealing a curious expression as he had just arrived, and wanted to know why he had been sent here.

“Ashtar, my father sent me as he representative for this meeting. Speak, I do not have much time to spare.” The male, seemingly a young man in his late teens, from the way he sounded and looked, said. He raised an eyebrow to look at Ashtar who stood beside his projection. His name was Nox Vermillion, heir to the throne of the Demon King.

“My Lord, I have failed you and your father. Please forgive me.” Ashtar, the proud and pompous Demon General, bowed his head meekly before the young man.

“In what way have you failed my father?” Nox asked curiously.

“One of my subordinates subverted the curse mark I put on him and leaked sensitive information concerning our invasion of the Central Continent. He should be dead now, but the damage has been done.” Ashtar said and bowed his head again.

“I see…” Nox raised his hand to rub at his chin. His eyes roamed around the table, taking in all of the other figures present. Several other Demon Generals were present, but they were all weaker than Ashtar. The stronger Demon Generals were still currently on the Demon Continent.

When Nox’s eyes passed over any of the people present, they would feel an involuntary shiver run down their spine. The reason for their fear was because Nox was a terrifying person. Not only was he the current heir to the throne of the Demon King, but he was also a frightening monster who had displayed a terrifying battle prowess! If he wanted to, he could challenge them, and even if they beat him up, then they would still end up being served by one of Nox’s many A rank guards!

There were times when Nox had utilized this to his advantage in order to deal with people he did not like. Those people had ended up so broken that they had quit their jobs or ended their lives! In other words, Nox was a bully!

“What have you done to handle this situation, Ashtar?” Nox eventually asked after a full two minutes of silence.

“…Nothing, my lord.” Ashtar bowed his head.

“Are you waiting for me to personally come there and kick you into action? Push the date of the invasion forward, or triple the number of soldiers taking part! Do something to catch them of guard!” Nox suddenly yelled.

“Forgive me, my lord. I will do so immediately.” Ashtar clenched his fists behind his back and bowed his head in apology.

“Fucking stupid people all around me!” That was not the end of Nox’s rant, though. “I will be coming over to your lands with a few A rank Demons. Prepare to host us.” Nox pointed at Ashtar, then his projection disappeared, signifying his decision to leave the meeting. Immediately, the atmosphere changed. The air chilled, and the ceiling of the meeting room cracked and splintered as Ashtar’s suppressed rage broke free.

“That…” Ashtar was about to curse Nox’s name, but he held himself at the last moment for the sake of maintaining a simple stance. He did not know who was the prince’s lapdog, and as long as he did not outright insult the prince, then there would be nothing to hold against him.

,m Today, Ashtar’s pride had been bruised and battered by Nox, but he would get over it. However, the only way to do so was to unleash his rage on something else, and right now, his eyes were focused on the map of the Central Continent.

“Push forward the date of invasion by a month. We will strike as soon as possible to catch the enemy off guard. The most that Nasir could have leaked was the timeframe of the invasion, nothing more.” Ashtar ordered and turned around to storm out of the meeting room.

Right now, he had no suspicions of Nasir being alive. To him, there was no way that the man would have managed to survive a curse mark that was as powerful as that. He had personally crafted it after all, and it was nearly impossible for Nasir to break it, as it had been made in a way that he would be unable to completely get rid of the effects that would end up killing him.

Ashtar made his way through the large castle and out of it. He reached the back of the castle where a large expanse stretched out. There, he could see several geniuses that belonged to his name training their skills and sparring against each other.

The moment he stepped onto the grass, they felt his spiteful and angry aura rub against their senses. The oldest of them, a Low A rank purebred Demon, quickly rushed to his father to find out what was wrong.

Vander Ashborn was the first and most talented child of Ashtar, and was in line to inherit the position of family head when Ashtar stepped down. The Demon was only in his early thirties, which showed his exceptional talent.

While there were younger A rank people scattered all over the world, they were unlike Vander. The Demon had intentionally halted his training in order to raise his skill levels, and now, no skill of his was lower than Intermediate grade.

“Father, what bothers you?” Vander asked with a strange look on his face. He did not want to be the one to interact with Ashtar when the man’s mood was so bad, but as the heir to his father’s position, and the strongest of the children, it was his duty.
