The Black Necromancer

Chapter 160 The Dark Knight Appears

A host of different and powerful B rank powerhouses from all walks of life had gathered within the boss room of the fiftieth floor. For some reason, the Tower of Trials still existed despite it having been cleared already. And the warriors within it were angry.

Swords, spears and wands were pointed at Leon and the other group. A lot of violent, threatening words were spouted as greed took over the minds of some. But Leon simply stared at them with a blank face. These buffoons were threatening him? Did they know what he was capable of? Most likely not, but anyone with more than one brain cell should be able to tell that anyone who was capable of taking down the final boss was surely strong. Much stronger than average.

In fact, there were some who had this thought, but their line of thinking went along with the group. As long as they were in a large, capable crowd, then why the heck should they be afraid? What could Leon and his group do to them when they were vastly outnumbered?

It was this line of thought that filled the minds of many and slowed down their reaction to the threatening aura that was rising from Leon. The air in the boss room turned palpable and the faces of those who had been speaking nonsense paled.

“What’s going on?”

“T-This aura!”

“Unholy energy!”

The shocked exclamations of the people turned to Leon. A few people stepped up, with some of them dressed in some kind of red and white robes. They held staffs in their hands. From what Leon could tell, they seemed to belong to the same factions.

“Unholy spawn of the Demon Continent! Die!” The lead priest yelled with a fire in his eyes. He seemed like someone who had a particular distaste for Unholy elements.

HUMMMM!

On the tips of their staffs that were crowned with a circular ornament, white light began to gather, turning into bright orbs.

“Hup!”

The orbs turned into beams of light that merged together to form one massive light beam. The threat from this light beam to normal people was just mid at best, but toward undead and other Unholy entities, this beam’s threat level was very high!

A scorching flame erupted all over Nero’s body, burning away the magical essence that composed his body. A pained groan left his jaws, but he held firm. Nothing must get past him! Nothing should harm his master!

The red flames that burned within Nero burned even harder, enveloping his core and spreading outwards until it consumed his entire form. The sight of this made the competitors happy, but Leon only frowned as he tried to understand what was happening. He had been monitoring Nero’s status ever since he blocked the beam, and he had noticed that the sudden steep decline of health points had suddenly slowed down by a large margin, turning into a trickle from a flood.

On Nero’s status page, a line lit up in bright letters. Nero’s only title, <Dark Knight>, had been activated!

BOOM!

A sudden explosion of red fire cancelled out the effects of the light beam and blew a fierce wind through the throne room. A strange pressure spread through the room, coloring the air in a red haze. The top of the throne room suddenly crumbled, showing off a strange, red moon that was reminiscent of a blood moon.

‘Oh, a domain?’ Leon wondered with surprise. He had not seen any of his summons flexing their Domains as of yet. In fact, he had not even really bothered finding out if they possessed Domains as of yet.

“How dare you disrespect the master? Seek to harm him?! You are undeserving of your lives!” A rage filled growl was heard through the hall. The vibration in the air that the voice was able to create pushed away the dust and smoke that had emerged out of the explosion, revealing Nero’s body.

In the place of the two meter tall Berserker Knight was a completely different entity. A two and half meter knight that was covered in red armor was standing in the middle of the blast zone. Black marks accentuated the body of the knight, and a black flame burned behind the visor that his the knight’s skull. It was like Nero had turned inside out, with the red coming out and the black going in. Two large, red greatswords were held in either of his hands, burning with red fire.

The faces of those caught within Nero’s Domain, which practically meant everyone in the hall, paled. Those on Nero’s side received a buff, and with a peek at the effects, its effects were clear.

[Blessing Of the Dark Knight: +40% damage to all offensive skills.]

Indeed, Nero was a Berserker. The bonus given from this Title was stellar! The fact that it not only applied to himself, but also his allies was an even greater upside to this Title! Leon could only wonder what the effects were for those on Nero’s bad side. He could only guess their despair at the moment.

Leon’s guess was not far off. The status screens of all those against him were showing the effects of Nero’s domain on them.

[-40% to all skills.]

Unlike the positive effects which only boosted damage, the negative effects stunted all skills, whether offensive, defensive, or supportive! Nothing was exempted from Nero’s wrath!

“Graaa!” With a loud growl, the red giant sprung into action, sprinting forward in a flash.

,m Boom!

The ground shook under the red light of the moon. In a moment’s notice, Nero had penetrated the line of the attackers. Three heads that belonged to the five priests arced through the air, drawing a line of blood in their wake. Chaos broke out among their ranks as they quickly tried to stop Nero, but it was difficult. The strength of their skills had been halved, while Nero’s strength was boosted by a large margin.
