The Black Necromancer

Chapter 146 The Fiftieth Floor

Thud!

The head of the Ice Wolf King fell to the ground with a mighty thud. The white fur that crowned its severed head was quickly dyed a bright crimson color, and the ice underneath its slumped body turned into a frosty red.

Jet landed calmly beside the large and lumbering body and turned to see how his friend was doing. Unsurprisingly, he was doing very well. Leon strolled through the carnage as if he was walking through a grassy field on a sunny afternoon.

[Level 100 Ice Wolf King killed. You have leveled up!]

[Congratulations! You have defeated the Forty Eighth Floor Boss, Ice Wolf King!]

[Floor rewards are now available to you!]

Jet waved away the influx of notifications and turned to look at Leon who was walking over with a grin. The Undead had a wide grin splitting his skull.

“That’s one more floor down. Someone just needs to kill the boss of the forty ninth floor and we can move to the fiftieth floor!” Leon cheered loudly, patting the side of the Ice Wolf King. Black flames quickly consumed the Ice Wolf King’s body, and when they died down, all that was left was a gigantic, black wolf that breathed plumes of frost. Leon looked up and placed his hand on the soft, dark fur of the wolf king.

He leaned in and whispered something that Jet was only barely able to hear. “Your name shall be Fenrir.” The Ice Wolf King let out a low growl and lowered its head before Leon.

“Your will is mine, master.” Mixed in with the growls was an unmistakable voice that spoke, declaring his loyalty to Leon. Leon nodded with a grin and ruffled Fenrir’s fur. Surprisingly enough, the giant wolf began to shrink and reduce in size until he was about the height of a horse.

“Oh, that’s great! You can change your size.” Leon laughed. With this new ability of Fenrir’s exposed, he was sure that this hulking beast would make a fantastic mount. He had still not been able to find a good mount all this time.

[The Forty Ninth Floor has been cleared! All participants can now access the Fiftieth Floor!]

All of a sudden, a grand notification appeared, hovering high up in the air. It startled the two friends, who belatedly realized that they had yet to pack up their spoils of war.

Leon quickly set to raising the souls of the monsters he had slain while Jet went on to pack the spoils of the floor. They would share it between themselves after dealing with the last floor.

“Alright, get ready.” Jet warned Leon. “When we step out of the other side of that portal, be ready for a royal rumble. Everyone will be against each other.” He warned.

As the last floor would be open to all, even those who were just entering the Tower of Trials, there would surely be a great number of people who sought to get the treasure for themselves. And they would surely fight tooth and nail for that treasure.

Leon did not step through first himself but sent his strongest summons through first. The Armored Giant, Aristodemus, the Giant Dinosaur, Tyrant, the Ice Wolf King, Fenrir, and a few other floor bosses, stepped through the portal first. As the one with the greatest defense, Aristodemus was at the front, with Tyrant and Fenrir being directly behind him.

When the summons had passed through, Leon and Jet followed right behind, surrounded by Leon’s other elite summons, Kaladin, Nero and Grokus. Nedra hung around his neck, counting her levels giddily within Leon’s mind.

Leon’s vision swam as he shared his sight with his forward summons. Aristodemus raised his arm to his head just as a fireball came hurling straight at him. Behind him, Tyrant roared and Fenrir howled to the heavens. The both of them immediately unleashed retaliatory attacks, a wave of ice and fire washing forward to the attackers that had positioned themselves around the portal that led to the fiftieth floor from the forty ninth floor.

“Fall back!”

“Move!”

“Quickly!”

A cacophony of yells came from the attackers as they hurriedly gave way. Leon’s summons did not follow after them, but instead stood guard around the portal. Leon smirked as he felt the warmth of the portal wash over him.

For some extra hype to his entrance he decided to go all out with his appearance. The armor that had come with his latest Race Advancement manifested around his body, and the Dark Pill turned into a staff in his hand, with its top holding an elaborately crafted skull with an open jaw. Purple flames burned within the depths of his sockets. He also used Dark magic and Fire magic to conjure a cape made out of black flames from his shoulders, running down behind him and dragging on the floor below, leaving a blackened trail behind him.

All of these visual effects played to his advantage as the B rank fighters that had retreated a distance saw him and gasped. By all means, Leon looked like an Undead King in their eyes, and the power of his summons were surprisingly overwhelming.

“Run!” They all turned tail and fled, wanting to escape before Leon could fully focus his attention on them.

He let them run, as he did not think they would pose too much of a threat to him in the future. His power was overwhelming, and they has shown that they were actually weaker than him by running. They lacked confidence to stand against him on their own.

“You are letting them go?” Even Jet was surprised. He was ready to go and kill them when he saw that Leon had made no moved to go after them.

“Yes. Let them go and try to form an alliance to take me down. That way I can get rid of more competitors at once.” Leon chuckled darkly.

Jet was surprised. But he did not disagree. It would indeed be better to clean up all their opposition in one fell swoop than to hunt them down one by one like ants.
