The BL System Won't Let Me Rest!
Chapter 117: The Vessel
For the first time, Kaelith heard it. Not through Rin.
Not through some distant memory. Not through a dream. He heard the voice himself.
"My love..."
Kaelith froze.
Rin slowly turned toward him. Neither of them spoke. The darkness behind the thirteenth door remained completely still.
Then the voice came again.
"Aelion..."
Rin’s breath caught. Kaelith’s expression changed.
Not anger. Not fear. Recognition. Something deep inside him had reacted before his mind could understand why.
He stepped toward the doorway. Rin immediately caught his sleeve.
"Wait."
Kaelith looked at him.
"I know that voice."
Rin’s eyes widened.
"You do?"
Kaelith nodded slowly.
"I don’t know from where."
The voice laughed softly from the darkness. Kaelith’s entire body went rigid. The words struck him harder than any attack.
Because they sounded familiar. Not merely familiar. They sounded like something someone had said to him countless times.
Someone he had forgotten. Someone he had lost.
Kaelith whispered:
"Who are you?"
There was no answer. Instead, a faint light appeared inside the room. It illuminated enormous chains hanging from the ceiling.
Rin’s heart dropped. Chains. The same kind he had seen before. But this time there was no doubt.
Someone was attached to them. A figure sat in the darkness, his body restrained by chains that disappeared into the walls.
Rin stared. His breath stopped. It was him. The same man. The same presence. The same one he had seen in the prison beyond the castle.
The one who had spoken to him when nobody else could hear. The one who had called him my love.
But now Kaelith could see him too. Kaelith took a step forward.
The chained man slowly raised his head. His eyes opened.
And the moment he looked at Kaelith—
he smiled.
Not kindly. Not cruelly. Sadly.
"You finally heard me."
Kaelith’s hands clenched.
"Who are you?"
The man looked at him for a long moment. Then his gaze moved toward Rin.
"Aelion."
Rin swallowed.
"My name is Rin."
The man’s expression softened.
"I know."
"Then why do you call me Aelion?"
"Because that’s who you were when we met."
Rin looked down. The name still felt strange. But it also felt like something buried deep inside him was beginning to wake.
Kaelith stepped closer.
"You know him?"
The chained man looked at him.
"Yes."
"How?"
The man smiled faintly.
"I knew him before the gods gave him another name."
Kaelith’s eyes narrowed.
"And you?"
The man remained silent. Kaelith’s voice became colder.
"What is your name?"
The chains rattled. The man lowered his head.
"I don’t remember."
Rin immediately looked at him.
"You don’t?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because World erased it."
Kaelith’s expression hardened.
"Then why do I remember you?"
The man’s eyes returned to Kaelith.
"You don’t."
Kaelith froze.
"What?"
"You remember the feeling."
Silence.
"The pain. The loss. The promise."
The man’s voice became quieter.
"But you don’t remember me."
Kaelith’s jaw tightened.
"That doesn’t make sense."
"It doesn’t have to."
The chained man smiled.
"You have spent so many lives searching for Aelion that you forgot what you were searching for. You who are empty?"
Rin’s heart began pounding. Kaelith didn’t move. The man continued.
"You thought you were searching for Rin."
Kaelith looked at Rin.
"But Rin was only the name World allowed you to remember."
Rin whispered:
"And Aelion was my real name."
"Yes."
Kaelith stared at the chains.
"Then what was your name?"
The man looked at him.
"I told you."
"I don’t remember."
"No."
Kaelith’s voice became almost desperate.
"You told me you would wait."
The man smiled.
"I did."
"You told me no one could separate us."
"I did."
"You called him your love."
"I still do."
Kaelith’s breathing became heavier.
"Then tell me your name."
The man closed his eyes.
"I can’t."
Kaelith’s magic began gathering. The walls shook. Rin immediately stepped closer.
"Kaelith."
"I need to know."
"I know."
"No."
Kaelith looked at him.
"I need to remember."
The words came out broken.
"I have spent too long knowing that someone was missing."
His magic trembled around him.
"I knew there was something."
"Someone."
"But every time I reached for it..."
His voice cracked.
"...it disappeared."
Rin looked at him silently. The chained man watched them. Then he spoke.
"You weren’t supposed to remember me."
Kaelith stared.
"Why?"
"Because World was afraid of what would happen if you did."
Kaelith’s eyes darkened.
"What would happen?"
The man smiled.
"You would come for me."
Silence.
"And you did."
Kaelith looked around the room. At the chains. At the walls. At the ancient symbols.
"You knew I would find you."
"I hoped."
Rin stepped forward.
"You were created for me."
The man looked at him.
"Yes."
"By the gods?"
"Yes."
"And World agreed."
"Yes."
Rin’s hands trembled.
"Then why did they imprison you?"
The man’s expression changed.
"Because they made a mistake."
"What mistake?"
"They thought they could create love."
He looked at Rin.
"But they accidentally created a person."
Rin stared.
The man continued.
"They wanted me to exist for you. They wanted me to obey you. They wanted me to protect you. They wanted me to love you."
He paused.
"But they never expected me to choose you because I wish this alone...but again and again to run to HIM! "
Rin’s eyes widened.
"You chose me?"
"Every time."
Something inside Rin’s chest twisted. Every time. The words echoed in his mind.
Rin looked at Kaelith. Kaelith was staring at the man with an expression Rin had never seen before.
It wasn’t hatred. It wasn’t jealousy. It was grief. A terrible, silent grief. The chained man noticed.
"You’re angry."
Kaelith said nothing.
"You should be."
Still nothing.
"You lost him too."
Kaelith finally spoke.
"Who?"
The man looked at Rin. Then back at Kaelith.
"You."
Kaelith’s eyes widened.
"What?"
"You lost yourself."
The chains tightened.
"You became Kaelith."
The man’s voice became softer.
"But before that..."
He closed his eyes.
"You had another name too."
Rin froze. Kaelith stopped breathing. The man whispered:
"And if you remember it..."
The room began shaking violently.
"...you’ll remember why the gods created me."
The System appeared.
[Warning.]
[Two original identities detected.]
[Host identity: AELION.]
[Second identity: UNKNOWN.]
Rin stared at the message. Then a third line appeared.
[Connection between identities: SOUL BOND.]
Kaelith’s eyes widened. The chained man smiled.
"Now you understand."
Rin whispered:
"No..."
The man looked at him.
"You weren’t the only one they renamed."
Kaelith took a step backward. For the first time, he looked genuinely terrified.
The chains began glowing. And somewhere above them, something ancient awakened.
The voice of World echoed through the entire underground chamber.
"Stop."
The chained man smiled.
"Too late."
The thirteenth door slammed shut. And the name of the first Kaelith began to return.
