Chapter 362: Owner Of Cresswell Group

“What?”

The words came out much louder than Riley intended. He immediately realized his mistake and looked toward the doorway. His father, who had already walked out of the office with the others, stopped and turned back when he heard Riley’s sudden shout.

Riley quickly lowered his voice.

“What did you just say?”

“Zachary Sterling is the biggest Cresswell Tech shareholder. Although the name isn’t listed directly as Zachary Sterling, he uses several shell companies registered in Switzerland and other tax haven countries. We traced the ownership structure and found that the company ultimately leads back to him.”

Riley’s eyes widened as he processed the information. His earlier suspicion suddenly seemed to have a possible explanation, and his grip tightened around his phone.

“How certain are you about this information?”

“An absolute one hundred percent, sir. We checked the records several times before contacting you. There’s a strong connection between the private company and the shares held in Cresswell Tech.”

A slow smile spread across Riley’s face.

“Very good. Send me all the details. I need them in a hurry.”

“Yes, sir.”

The call ended, and Riley lowered his phone. He remained near the doorway for a moment, staring at the screen as he processed what he had just learned. The anger he had been holding onto suddenly turned into excitement. He had finally found something that could potentially change everything.

His father was still waiting nearby, watching him with a confused expression, but Riley said nothing. He slipped his phone back into his pocket and walked out of the home office, his mind already racing with what he had just learned.

‘Uncle Zach, how dare you lie to us?’ Riley thought bitterly as he walked down the hallway. ‘You are the biggest shareholder of Cresswell, yet you kept filing lawsuits against Sterling Tech. So this was your plan all along.’

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. At the same time, he could not hide the satisfaction he felt at finally discovering something that Zachary had apparently kept hidden from the entire family.

‘Now I know your identity. I will tell Grandpa and everyone else.’

With that thought firmly in his mind, Riley continued down the hallway, already preparing to reveal what he believed was the family’s biggest secret.

Riley quickly caught up with Zachary, who was already walking toward the main entrance with the others.

“Uncle Zach, wait…” he called.

His voice immediately drew everyone’s attention. The family members who had already reached the hallway turned to look at Riley, who hurried forward until he was standing two steps behind Zachary.

Riley smiled without saying anything at first. He simply stared at his uncle, almost as though he wanted to enjoy Zachary’s calm expression before exposing the secret he had just discovered. Satisfaction shone in his eyes, and he seemed confident that whatever he was about to say would shock the entire family.

Zachary faced Riley fully, his expression remaining calm.

“What is it, Riley?”

“Let’s sit down first, Uncle.” Riley gestured toward the living room. He then turned toward the rest of the family. “Grandpa, Dad, there’s something I need to announce.”

The others exchanged confused looks, but Riley had already started walking back toward the seating area.

Zachary watched him for a moment before following. Although he was curious about what Riley had suddenly decided to announce, he did not show it. He returned to the living room with the others, but instead of sitting down, he remained standing near the center of the room, waiting for Riley to speak.

Riley looked around at everyone before taking a breath.

“Grandpa, Father…” he began. “I just found some crucial information that could save Sterling Tech.”

His words immediately shocked everyone.

Zachary’s expression did not change. He remained completely composed, with his hands relaxed at his sides as he studied his nephew. Inside, however, he wondered what Riley had discovered.

Riley’s confidence bothered him more than the announcement itself. His nephew clearly believed he had found something important, and for some reason, that confidence stirred a small sense of unease in Zachary.

Kennedy frowned. “What do you mean, Riley?”

“Grandpa, don’t be too shocked…” Riley replied with a smile. He glanced directly at Zachary before continuing. “I just got information that my Uncle Zach is actually the owner of the Cresswell Group.”

He deliberately paused after saying it, seemingly enjoying the silence that followed.

Zoey was the first to react.

“Riley, what are you talking about? How do you know Zach owns the Cresswell Group?” she asked. “Do you even know how big that company is? It’s a massive enterprise. They’re ranked among the country’s Big Five this year.”

Riley didn’t answer Zoey. Instead, a satisfied smile remained on his lips as his eyes stayed fixed on Zachary.

Slowly, everyone’s attention shifted toward Zachary.

They waited for him to deny the accusation, explain himself, or at least react. However, Zachary said nothing and gave zero reaction. He simply slipped both hands into his trouser pockets and calmly stared back at Riley.

From the outside, he appeared absolutely unbothered that his nephew had managed to uncover his secret.

In the back of his mind, however, his thoughts raced.

‘How did he find out?’

Zachary knew how carefully he had protected his investment in Cresswell. He had arranged it through a private investment company in Switzerland, and only a handful of people knew the truth. He never expected Riley to uncover the connection, let alone mention it in front of the entire Sterling family.

‘Did he pay a skilled hacker to dig into my private Swiss company?’

There was no point guessing yet. Zachary needed to know exactly what Riley had discovered and how much evidence he had.

William finally broke the silence.

“Zachary, explain this.” His voice was noticeably tense as he looked at his younger brother. “Is what Riley said true?”

Kennedy and Hannah turned toward Zachary as well.

“Zach, tell us what’s going on,” Hannah said, her voice carrying both concern and confusion.

Kennedy nodded. “Yes. Explain yourself, Zach… Do you really hold shares in the Cresswell Group?”
