The Billionaire's Heir I Never Knew Was Mine

Chapter 151: This Is Because Of Sienna!

Chapter 151: This Is Because Of Sienna!

Sienna’s breath caught immediately. The meaning behind those words was impossible to misunderstand.

Heat rushed to her face. She quickly looked away, silently scolding herself when several sultry thoughts decided to appear at the same time.

Sienna put those thoughts aside and hurriedly responded, "Hmm," she mumbled. "I’ll walk you to the elevator."

He immediately shook his head. "No, no. You stay here. You need proper rest tonight to get you fresh and get your strength back."

His eyes softened as he continued, "And you’re going to need it because when you meet Sky tomorrow, he will cling to you all the time, and exhaust you. That’s how much he misses you."

Sienna narrowed her eyes.

"Oh. Come on..." A playful smile appeared on her lips. "I’m not that weak, Mr. Sterling. Sky can cling to me all the time he wants, and I get a feeling that I would love every second of it and won’t get exhausted."

Something dangerous flashed in Zachary’s eyes.

"Well, my future wife, we can test that theory later," he teased, affectionately.

The warmth that had already touched her cheeks quickly spread through her entire body as she heard his sweet, flirting words.

Sienna completely lost the ability to form a proper response. She wasn’t even sure if she wanted to respond.

Luckily, Zachary seemed amused enough already. He didn’t continue teasing her. Instead, he walked toward the front door.

Just as he reached the door, he suddenly stopped and turned around.

Caught off guard, Sienna nearly bumped straight into him. She lifted her head and looked into his eyes.

"Did you forget something?" She asked.

"No. I just wanted to see your pretty face before I left..." he said, lifting her chin and leaning in to steal a quick kiss on her lips.

"Zach, call me when you arrive home."

A smile touched his lips. "Hm. I will. Good night, Sienna."

"Good night, Zach..." she said as she observed him heading to the elevator.

...

The next morning in Evercrest City.

Jacob Adams sat in the living room with a growing headache. Across from him sat his younger siblings, Jenny and Jimmy.

The old house felt smaller than usual today. The faded walls, aging furniture, and worn floorboards only reminded him how little value sentiment held when compared to real problems.

People liked talking about memories, but Jacob preferred solutions. And right now, he needed one.

Boss Juan had been pressuring him nonstop. The deal they had made had completely fallen apart, and the main reason was Sienna, his only child. If she hadn’t disappeared, none of this would have happened.

For weeks, Jacob had tried everything he could think of to find her. He had called old friends, contacted former coworkers, and even asked people who barely knew her.

But nothing. It was as if she had vanished from the face of the earth. To make matters worse, she had changed her phone number.

The realization still irritated him.

Boss Juan wanted his money. And he needed a way to get it. That was why he had called this meeting. The house was the only valuable thing left.

He had already brought up selling it several weeks ago, but Jenny and Jimmy had stubbornly refused every single time. Their constant objections had only made his situation worse.

Today, however, he wasn’t asking. He was informing them.

Jacob narrowed his eyes slightly before speaking.

"I can’t wait for your permission anymore. I don’t have a choice."

Immediately, Jenny’s face twisted with anger.

Jacob wasn’t surprised. His sister had always been emotional.

"How could you do this?" she demanded. Her voice trembled as she continued, "What were you thinking when you decided to sell this house? Did you forget this is our father’s ancestral home?"

"Jenny, you know why I’m doing this," Jacob answered, suppressing the urge to roll his eyes.

"No, I don’t!" Her voice rose instantly. "If you sell this house, where are we supposed to live? The money won’t even be enough to buy another place."

Jacob shrugged. "That wasn’t my problem. You have a husband. Ask him to buy a new house for you!"

Jenny stared at him in anger. The look she gave him suggested she wanted to throw something at his head.

"You—how could you—" Before she could continue, Jacob lifted a hand.

"Even I... will have to work and rent a place."

"Brother..." Jenny’s eyes became red. "This is our parents’ property."

Jacob leaned back in his chair—

"So? They’re dead." Jacob answered. He didn’t understand why people always reacted that way. It was the truth; their parents had already been dead long ago.

He stares at both of them, then continues, "It’s time we sell this place; the money we get will be divided among the three of us."

The room immediately fell quiet. Longer this time, as neither Jenny nor Jimmy spoke.

But not long after, Jenny’s eyes filled with tears. "Brother, you’re so heartless!" Her voice cracked. "Shameless and evil!"

Jacob sighed heavily, too tired to respond.

For several moments, silence filled the room.

Then Jimmy finally spoke. "Brother, you need to stop gambling before those people kill you and drag us to your grave!"

Jacob frowned. "I told you this is the last—"

Jimmy interrupted him, "You’ve been saying the same thing for years," Jimmy said.

The interruption immediately irritated Jacob.

Jacob rubbed his forehead, paused for a few moments, then let out a deep sigh. "I know! But I promise I will stop gambling! Don’t worry..."

Jenny immediately let out a mocking laugh while wiping her tears. "Brother, you’ve said that a hundred times already. And somehow there’s always another last time."

Jacob clenched his jaw in annoyance. Neither of them understood the pressure he was under. He took a deep breath. "This is because of Sienna!"

The moment he mentioned her name, Jimmy’s expression changed. "Brother, stop using Sienna as an excuse."

Jenny nods in agreement with Jimmy, but Jacob looks angrier than ever.

Still, Jimmy continued, "Don’t you feel sorry for her?" His calm voice somehow sounded even harsher than shouting.

Jacob remained silent.
