Chapter 144: How Dare He Traumatize You!
Chapter 144: How Dare He Traumatize You!
Sienna slowly began recounting everything that had happened the previous day.
At first, neither Ava nor Riley interrupted her. They simply listened quietly as she explained how everything had started with Benjamin Foster.
She told them about Benjamin cornering her, his disgusting behavior, and how he had tried to force himself on her.
Even now, speaking about it made her stomach twist uncomfortably.
She explained how terrified she had been and how her instincts had taken over when she desperately reached for the nearest object she could find.
"I grabbed the statue and hit him," Sienna said quietly.
Ava immediately covered her mouth.
Riley’s jaw tightened.
"I wasn’t thinking clearly," Sienna continued. "I just wanted to get away from him."
"You did the right thing," Riley said firmly.
"Exactly," Ava agreed immediately. "If someone tried that with me, I would have hit him twice."
"Only twice?" Riley asked.
Ava looked offended. "Fine. Ten times."
"That’s more reasonable," Riley said, satisfied.
Despite the serious topic, Sienna could not help smiling faintly at their exchange before continuing her story.
She told them how the police officers arrived afterward and how she was detained and taken to the police station. She described being left alone inside the interrogation room for hours without anyone explaining anything to her.
The more she spoke, the darker Riley’s expression became.
Ava looked equally upset.
"I was exhausted," Sienna admitted. "Physically and mentally. I was already stressed because of everything that happened with Benjamin, and then I was left sitting there for hours."
"That’s ridiculous," Riley muttered.
She sighs deeply before continuing weakly, "I honestly thought they forgot I existed."
Ava blinked.
"Wait, they left you alone for hours?"
"Yes. They didn’t give me any food, only a bottle of water. They took my cell phone, too."
"What kind of police station was that?" Ava complained. "Were they conducting an investigation or taking a group nap?"
Riley snorted despite himself.
Sienna laughed softly before continuing.
She told them about the loneliness of that room and the growing fear that nobody was coming to help her. Then she explained how Benjamin’s lawyer had suddenly appeared.
The atmosphere immediately changed.
Both Ava and Riley sat straighter.
Sienna slowly told them about the lawyer’s visit and how the man had calmly delivered Benjamin’s ultimatum.
"Marry Benjamin Foster... or face jail! That bastard is truly evil!" Sienna said while clenching her fists tightly.
The room became silent.
Sienna could practically hear their blood pressure rising.
When she looked at them, both of their faces had turned red.
Ava looked ready to commit a crime. And Riley looked ready to help her.
Still, Sienna continued her story until she reached the end.
After several moments, Sienna finally released a long sigh.
"If Zach hadn’t sent his lawyer," she concluded quietly, "I might still be sitting in that police station."
The silence that followed felt heavy.
Then Ava suddenly moved from her seat and sat beside Sienna.
Without saying anything, she grabbed Sienna’s hand tightly.
When Sienna looked at her, she was surprised to see tears rolling down Ava’s cheeks.
"Sienna, I’m so sorry," Ava whispered. "I hate myself right now because I didn’t answer your call." Her voice trembled with guilt.
Sienna immediately squeezed her hand.
"Don’t blame yourself, Ava."
"But—"
"No." Sienna shook her head gently. "This wasn’t your fault. It wasn’t our fault."
Her expression hardened slightly.
"It was Benjamin’s fault."
Ava lowered her head.
Meanwhile, Riley’s face darkened.
"That scum," he growled. The anger in his voice was impossible to miss. Then his gaze softened as he looked at Sienna.
"I’ll make sure he pays for what he did to you," Riley said firmly. "I’ll make sure he suffers ten times more than you did."
Sienna immediately shook her head.
"Riley, thank you. But there’s no need to help me take revenge on that scum Benjamin Foster."
Riley looked personally offended.
Sienna almost laughed.
Before he could argue, she quickly added,
"Zach will handle him."
Riley released a heavy sigh. A very heavy sigh. The kind of sigh that suggested he had many opinions but was choosing not to share them.
"Every time you say his name, my uncle gets stronger," he muttered.
Ava immediately laughed. "I think he’s already strong enough."
Riley turned his gaze to Ava. "Tsk, tsk. You are not helping, Ava!"
Sienna rolled her eyes.
For a moment, the tension eased.
But then another thought entered her mind. Her smile slowly faded.
Even though everything was supposedly over, she could not stop imagining herself returning to the Imperial Hotel. Returning to work and possibly seeing Benjamin again.
The thought alone made her chest tighten.
"...Even though it’s all over," she admitted quietly, "I’m still traumatized by the thought of returning to the office and seeing that bastard. I wish he would never appear in front of me again."
The room fell silent once more. This time, the silence lasted longer.
Sienna looked up and found both Ava and Riley staring at her.
Neither of them spoke. Neither of them moved. They simply looked still.
She allowed them time to process everything she had told them.
Several seconds passed before Riley finally broke the silence.
"Damn it, Benjamin!" His voice echoed through the apartment. "How dare he traumatize my friend?"
Ava immediately joined him. "That man has no morals left in him. He’s a beast!"
"That’s an insult to beasts," Riley corrected.
"You’re right. Even beasts behave better."
Sienna could not help laughing.
Then Riley suddenly pointed at her.
"If you had let me punch him that day, none of this would have happened."
Sienna sighed. "Riley, we’re not going back to that argument."
"Fine!" Riley shook his head in frustration.
"What’s important now is that I’m alright. And he’ll receive his punishment soon." Sienna said.
"Yes," Ava agreed immediately. "What’s important now is Sienna’s safety."
Sienna smiled warmly at her. "Thank you, Ava."
Ava’s expression softened. Then concern quickly returned to her face. "Sienna, you still look exhausted."
Sienna smiled weakly as she asked, "Do I?"
"Yes."
"Very exhausted," Riley added. "You look like someone who hasn’t slept in three days."
Sienna opened her mouth to protest. Then she yawned. "Hmm..." She covered her mouth. "Yeah. I think I need to sleep—"
Another yawn interrupted her.
Ava immediately stood. "Okay, Riley, let Sienna get her much-needed rest. We need to leave now."
"Agreed."
"We’ll see you again as soon as you fully rest and are well fed, Sienna."
Sienna did not stop them. The truth was, she really was exhausted.
Her body still felt drained from everything that had happened, and her mind desperately needed peace before Zachary returned later.
