The Bigshot Shocks The World When She Backs Home

Chapter 262

Chapter 262: Chinese Test Results

In the previous years, the top notcher for the English exam always came from Class 1, and it was usually a student achiever who represented the school in English competitions around the province.

Even so, these top students rarely got full marks like Yao Tang.

No one could have imagined that a new student—a country girl, no less—would dominate the academics within a few months of her transfer.

What’s more, whenever Yao Tangaced a test, there was a distinct gap between her performance and that of the other students in her grade.

The student who had raised the question immediately put his hand down, wanting to slap himself for asking the obvious.

It was like an invitation to their teacher to rub their failure into their faces more than he already had.

As soon as the period ended, the students in this particular class went on their phones and vented their sentiments onto the school forum.

Surely, they couldn’t be the only ones who felt bad about the results, right?

But in doing so, they had to explain the situation of Class 20 regarding their English lessons, which caused another uproar among the student body.

It didn’t take long for the comment section to be bombarded with zealous replies.

Some of them had their English class in the afternoon, and finding out about the news preemptively only served to double their dismay and frustrations.

Class 20 was supposed to be the trash class, and yet almost all of them had passed the English test with flying colors.

It was ridiculous and simply unacceptable!

The haters cursed to themselves. Early on, they had proudly predicted to anyone who cared to listen that Class 20 would land in the bottom 50 of their grade.

No one expected the opposite to happen. Not only had they done well in Math, but they crushed the English test as well.

...

If they also succeed in the Chinese tests… No, even if they just scored adequately, they might be able to pull the entire Class 20 from the bottom rankings.

Preposterous!

As for Class 20, they were still basking in the triumph of their Mathematics test. Their English class was in the afternoon, and they wouldn’t have had a clue about their scores if the subject hadn’t blown up on the school forum.

The word spread like wildfire, and the mood in the classroom became even more festive. The students laughed among themselves, praising each other for a job well done.

It was then that Teacher Liu, their Chinese teacher, walked into class with a wide smile on his face.

The students instantly settled down at their desks.

“Class representative, come over and get your test papers. Hand them out and let’s go over the items one by one.”

As the class representative shuffled to her feet, a timid voice rang out in the room.

“But… Aren’t we supposed to have Physics class next?”

Right on cue, their Physics teacher appeared at the door. He hesitated when he caught sight of another faculty member inside.

Teacher Liu turned and shot him a meaningful look.

“Ah!” the Physics teacher exclaimed, slapping his forehead. “I must be getting old, my memory is all fuzzy. My class is in the afternoon. Carry on, Teacher Liu.”

With a parting smile to the class, he turned on his heel and trotted away.

“Now,” Teacher Liusaid, still in high spirits. “Hurry and distribute the papers while I call out everyone’s scores.”

As he called out the numbers, the students gradually realized that they had vastly improved in this subject, too.

Lin Xin, in particular, had scored 125 points—the second-highest score in the class.

Of course, the top spot still belonged to Yao Tang, who had purposely botched a single item on the test, leaving her with 147 points in total.

Teacher Liu beamed at them, his eyes twinkling with pride.

Meanwhile, just down the hall, the students of Class 19 were bent over their desks as they suffered the wrath of yet another teacher.

They never had to worry about something like this before, since Class 20 was always sure to rank last in their grade.

But this was no longer the case. Now, Class 19 and Class 20 were sitting on the same class average, making them tied for the bottom spot. In fact, it would only take Class 20 another point or two to fully surpass Class 19.

Their Math scores might not be a match to that of the top class, but their English and Chinese scores were certainly on par with Class 1, if not better.

It was only natural, then, that the form teacher of Class 19 was blowing a fuse over his students’ performance. Luckily, there were still a handful of students in Class 20 who did badly in the exams. Otherwise, Class 19 would be placed last in the whole grade.

“I want you to take a look at your test papers. Take a long, hard look and reflect on yourselves!”
