"Sister, I don’t have big ambitions, so don’t hold me to high standards and demands."

Every time her sister sets such grand goals for her, Samara feels quite helpless. Her vision is small, focused only on her own little family.

"I just want you to work hard on your exams."

Samara replied, "I’ve been trying very hard."

"That’s good." Sienna Johnson smiled at her sister, satisfied with Samara’s recent performance.

With Samara’s lazy personality, lacking any drive, if Sienna weren’t constantly pushing her forward, she wouldn’t even know how to move ahead.

"Sis, what’s going on with you and Mom lately?"

"Sigh...it’s a long story."

"What really happened?" Samara asked curiously.

Sienna then recounted the story of how she helped Graham Robertson confess to Pauline Briggs, leaving Samara dumbfounded.

"Sis, you’re so smart, how could you do something so outrageous?"

"Outrageous? What’s outrageous about it? Many seniors are pursuing a second spring these days. If I don’t say anything, I would seem unreasonable and unemotional. Our mom is still young, and it would be so lonely for her to spend decades alone."

Sienna also struggled internally for a long time before she came to terms with it. But Pauline Briggs was not at all appreciative.

"Dad and Mom’s relationship is so good, how could Mom possibly fall for someone else? Dad and Mom said they want to be buried together after their passing.

If anything like this happens again, just leave it alone. Mom would really be upset." Samara advised.

"Actually, I don’t want Mom to remarry either."

"Then why did you say it?"

Sienna sought advice from Samara, "Mom is angry with me right now; what should I do?"

"Mom has a soft heart. If you act cute to her a few times, she’ll lose her temper." Samara said casually.

But Sienna wasn’t as optimistic as Samara, because she knew that Pauline was genuinely angry this time.

...

This time, Pauline was indeed very angry. No matter how Sienna apologized or explained, Pauline wouldn’t listen.

In private, Sienna vented to Adrian Desmond, saying that since Pauline wasn’t speaking to her, she wouldn’t speak to her anymore either.

After saying that, the next day, she received a call from Leanne Andrews, who talked about a rumor circulating in their circle: Sienna Johnson only became the Pharmaceutical Association President because of Graham Robertson. Graham Robertson supposedly supported Sienna because she arranged for Pauline to sleep with him.

Sienna was almost livid upon hearing this.

Who could be so malicious to spread such rumors?

Upon hearing the news, Sienna canceled her afternoon meeting and went to find Adrian.

Adrian was at the Cloudscape Golf Course, playing with several directors.

Adrian was called back by Marion.

Adrian was dressed in a golf outfit, an orange winter jacket coat, white pants, and white shoes. Despite the challenging colors, Adrian didn’t look awkward at all wearing them.

Marion closed the office door, and Adrian came over, hugged Sienna, and smiled, "You’re not here to check on me, are you?"

This was a new term Adrian learned. Women from Orienta like to do surprise checks to see if their husbands are cheating. Other men find it annoying when their wives check on them, but Adrian liked it, as it showed Sienna cared about him.

"Adrian, I know why my mom is so angry." Sienna said.

"Oh?"

"Today Leanne called me about a malicious rumor involving me.

Leanne said there’s a widespread rumor that I became the Pharmaceutical Association President because I asked my mom..." Sienna couldn’t bring herself to finish.

"What’s going on?"

Sienna’s face was red with anger as she subtly said, "They say I made my mom seduce Graham Robertson to secure his full support for my election."

Adrian gently rubbed her back, calming her anger, "Do you suspect someone is deliberately spreading this rumor?"

"Yes! Otherwise, it wouldn’t spread so widely."

"Don’t worry. I’ll have Marion investigate." Adrian assured Sienna and immediately tasked Marion with the investigation, but Sienna was still furious.

"Don’t be angry; anger hurts the liver."

Sienna sat on Adrian’s lap, taking deep breaths to calm the fire in her chest.

"How can I not be angry? These people are just too vicious. How can they talk nonsense like this? How do they expect my mom and me to live with this?"

"If someone is truly spreading rumors deliberately, I’ll help you deal with them." Adrian said.

Sienna replied, "And deal with them harshly! It’s too outrageous!"

"Understood, calm down."

Sienna slowly calmed down, seeing his golf attire. Knowing he had been with customers, she sheepishly said, "I didn’t interrupt your work, did I?"

"You are my priority."

"I was so upset today, so I came to find you."

"I’m glad you came to find me."

Sienna relaxed in his arms, gazing outside through the transparent glass at the large lawn. The indoor grass is still green in winter, providing a refreshing view.

"If I had known these rumors would arise, I wouldn’t have taken the Presidential position and would have stayed away from Graham Robertson." Sienna regretted.

Sienna and Pauline’s mother-daughter relationship had finally become harmonious, only to return to a frozen state, which Sienna didn’t want.

"If someone wants to trouble you, there would be problems even without involving Graham Robertson."

"Who could it be?" Sienna couldn’t figure it out.

Sienna is usually kind, cooperative in business, always ensuring mutual benefit and win-win. She truly couldn’t think of who she might have offended lately.

...

After work, Marion found the source of the rumor.

To Sienna’s shock, the rumor starter was Elsa White.

"How could it be?"

Sienna couldn’t believe it. They hadn’t interacted much and had no conflict. Sienna couldn’t understand why Elsa would spread such rumors.

"Marion, are you sure it was Elsa White?"

"Yes, Madam."

"Why?"

Marion glanced at Adrian, not daring to explain the reason. Adrian said, "Regardless of her reasons, she should be punished for what she did. Leave this matter to me."

Sienna knew Adrian’s ruthless approach.

"No! I’ll handle it myself."

"You’re so busy lately, and now you want to deal with Elsa White?" Adrian disapproved.

"Elsa White gave me such a gift; I have to return the favor."

She decided to pursue legal action against Elsa White.

Only through formal channels could her and her mother’s names be cleared, not harmed by rumors.
