The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1287 - 1227: Kiya Returns to Abyanabad
"Paige, can you promise me that you’ll stay at the Johnson Family, always waiting for me to come back and get you all?"
Kiya isn’t afraid of the chaotic situation in Abyanabad, nor is he afraid of Night Owl; he’s only scared of this woman leaving him and living her carefree life with the children while he’s away.
Paige Desmond looked at him coldly, "I’m not your prisoner. I’ll live wherever I choose to live."
"Paige!"
"You said you could give up being a Sultan for me, Kiya. You broke your word!" Disappointment filled Paige’s eyes; ultimately, the throne was more important to him than she was.
But everyone has their ambitions. Paige has never forced or blamed Kiya. If this is his choice, she chooses to respect it.
However, the prerequisite is that Kiya also respects her choices.
When she left the Imperial Palace, she vowed never to return. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have used such drastic measures back then.
"The situation in Abyanabad is very chaotic right now. As royalty, I can’t let my people live in dire straits."
"Such a grandiose reason, my Sultan! Then I wish you success in turning the tide and being a good Sultan once you return to Abyanabad." Paige sneered.
In the end, this man couldn’t let go of his throne.
"Don’t be mad at me."
"I’m not mad. If I were mad, I would’ve kicked you out!"
Kiya laughed, "Actually, that’s exactly what you’re thinking inside, isn’t it?"
"Yes, that’s exactly what I’m thinking."
She tried to shake off his hand, but Kiya held on tightly, "I’ve thought about it; if you don’t want to return to the Imperial Palace, just live outside. But you must live in Abyanabad.
You and the children are in Abyanabad, and I can leave the palace to visit you, which makes things easier."
Seeing Paige about to speak, Kiya was afraid she’d utter words of refusal, so he stopped her, "Can’t you take a step back? If you live in Sileria City, it’d be difficult for me to visit you and the children."
"..."
"Ella is so adorable. Imagine if you couldn’t see her, how would you feel."
"Alright."
Paige knew Kiya’s nature; she also knew she couldn’t do as she pleased since Kiya could easily control her, or else she wouldn’t have reluctantly become his mistress back then.
"...I know you’re not happy inside, but we have a long lifetime together, and I will slowly make it up to you," Kiya promised Paige.
Paige didn’t even glance at Kiya, instead looking down and smiling at her daughter in her arms. What she wanted, this man couldn’t provide.
There’s no point in arguing, Paige didn’t want to fight with Kiya anymore.
As long as she didn’t have to return to the Imperial Palace, she would agree to anything.
...
Three days later, Kiya reluctantly left his wife and daughter but left Gavin and ten bodyguards behind, including a skilled female bodyguard named Oni, who shared the same name as Paige’s deceased maid.
Oni was not only talented in martial arts but also cooking, and she could care for children—an all-around nanny.
Paige had no idea where Kiya found someone like her.
"Queen, I’m taking the little princess for a walk."
Every day around two in the afternoon, Kiya would carry Ella for a stroll in the garden, which Ella had grown accustomed to; she needed to go out at that time every day.
After Kiya left, Oni took over his role.
Oni was meticulous, ensuring Paige felt confident entrusting her child to her. She wrapped her daughter in a small coat, put on a hat, and reminded them, "The weather is getting chilly now; don’t stay out too long."
"Yes, Queen."
Paige watched Oni walk out with her daughter, feeling quite helpless.
No matter how much she emphasized rejecting the title "Queen," they wouldn’t listen, likely because Kiya had specifically instructed them.
The title "Queen" constantly reminded her of her identity.
It was ridiculous, for she never intended to enter the palace; someday, if the palace does have a "Queen," that title would be truly absurd.
...
Love can make heroes forget their duties.
Right after Kiya left, his longing for his wife and children began.
On the way, Kiya couldn’t help but call Paige, but her phone remained unreachable, forcing him to call Oni instead. Oni informed him that Paige had gone to sleep.
Wanting not to disturb Paige’s rest, Kiya had to suppress his longing.
Always thinking about resolving Abyanabad’s issues quickly to reunite with them and be able to see them every day.
Reflecting on the little princess’s adorable face made Kiya’s heartache.
"Ella, don’t forget your daddy after a few days," Kiya said wistfully, gazing at the picture of his daughter on his phone.
...
Adrian Desmond received the news that Kiya planned to return to Abyanabad and had prepared early since Kiya was now "dead."
This sudden reappearance could spark significant upheaval.
Brandon Potter, aware of Kiya and Paige’s situation, couldn’t believe it and asked, "Sixth Master, is the Sultan really returning?"
"Mm."
"And Miss?"
With Kiya returning while Paige and their child are staying with the Johnson Family, Adrian couldn’t fathom how Kiya persuaded Paige to come back.
His brother-in-law was a clever man, while his naive sister was no match for Kiya.
Brandon was instructed, "Go pick them up personally; the fewer people know about Kiya’s return, the better."
Brandon curiously asked, "What plan does the Sultan have for re-entering the Imperial Palace?"
On this issue, Adrian wasn’t worried. Even while in Orienta, Kiya had never stopped monitoring Abyanabad’s situation; if he truly had lost interest in the "Sultan" position, he wouldn’t pay attention.
Just as a man unfond of a woman won’t have his gaze drawn to her.
...
Kiya secretly arrived at the Desmond Family after nightfall.
Adrian had skipped dinner, waiting for him.
Kiya, looking gaunt and stern, promised, "I’ll help you find your wife."
"Thank you."
Adrian himself couldn’t locate her and didn’t expect Kiya to, as long as Kiya could help him deal with Night Owl.
"You probably haven’t eaten, I’ve prepared traditional Abyanabad dishes..."
At the Johnson Family, only Orienta cuisine was served. As a native of Abyanabad, Kiya actually preferred Abyanabad dishes.
"No, let’s handle business first."
"Alright." Anyway, Adrian had no appetite.
Adrian took Kiya to the parlor, and Adolph Desmond had the servants prepare tea and snacks before dismissing any unnecessary personnel.
"Gulit and Moore are dead," Adrian mentioned.
"I know."
Adrian closely observed Kiya’s expression, noticing that Gulit and Moore’s deaths hadn’t affected his mood.
"The entire Imperial Palace is currently controlled by Night Owl’s people. How do you plan to act?" Adrian asked.
Kiya laughed, "Back then, you wiped out Night Owl’s base on Death Island, so why fear these remnants now?"
