Following the direction of the Old Gang Leader’s finger, Chu Ge indeed saw traces of refracted light on the rock above.

"It seems so. From my angle, you can also see the halo of reflected light."

Chu Ge nodded slightly; it should be correct.

Unexpectedly, this place could form such a natural spectacle.

The Old Gang Leader glanced at Chu Ge as he walked over, nodding, "If we keep searching like this, I believe we’ll find the volcano within half a day."

Seeing the excitement in the Old Gang Leader’s eyes, Chu Ge couldn’t help but remind, "Old Gang Leader, we shouldn’t rejoice too early. Look at this mirror; it’s as thin as if it doesn’t exist. Finding it will be troublesome."

"Eh, not necessarily. We might find it smoothly," the Old Gang Leader said confidently.

Chu Ge saw his nonchalance and shook his head slightly. The more critical the moment, the more cautious one must be.

Just as he thought this, unable to speak it out, he suddenly heard the Old Gang Leader cry out in pain.

Chu Ge looked over to see the Old Gang Leader clutching his arm, standing painfully.

He hurried over, puzzled, "What happened?"

"I don’t know what it was, but it just burned my skin a bit."

The Old Gang Leader showed his arm to Chu Ge. His clothes were already burned through, and the skin had a red burn mark.

Chu Ge was alarmed. What could have harmed the Old Gang Leader?

While confused, the Old Gang Leader took a step forward, considering himself unlucky, but they were short on time and needed to hurry.

As he took one step forward, suddenly a fist-sized fireball shot from the side.

Chu Ge reacted swiftly, pushing the Old Gang Leader aside. The fireball hit the ground, instantly flaring up.

He looked up in the direction the fireball had come from, having a rough idea in his mind.

"What’s going on? Why is there a fireball?" the Old Gang Leader asked puzzled. He hadn’t seen it clearly before and was somewhat complacent, not paying attention.

This time, nearly getting hit by the fireball again, he felt a bit embarrassed.

He lightly coughed, looking at Chu Ge, only to find that Chu Ge wasn’t bothered by it, or rather, wasn’t concerned about whether he lost face.

Chu Ge kept staring at the Refraction Mirror. If he guessed correctly, the fireball should have been reflected from it.

With this in mind, Chu Ge slowly extended his hand.

"What are you doing? You’ll get burned!" The Old Gang Leader wanted to pull Chu Ge back, but it was too late.

Chu Ge saw with the naked eye that a fist-sized fireball quickly formed in the center of the Refraction Mirror and shot toward his arm.

Fortunately, Chu Ge reacted quickly and wasn’t harmed.

"Little brother, why are you hurting yourself?" the Old Gang Leader asked puzzled, wondering if Chu Ge had lost his mind.

Chu Ge remained silent, thinking about the principle behind this.

"Little brother, what’s wrong?" The Old Gang Leader asked worriedly, seeing Chu Ge staring at the Refraction Mirror, "What are you thinking about?"

"I’m thinking about the principle behind this. I haven’t seen any mechanism around, so why are there fireballs?"

Soon, he remembered something he did as a child, burning ants with a magnifying glass. A magnifying glass is a convex lens that can gather light. Sunlight can be considered parallel light to Earth, and when parallel light passes through a convex lens, it gathers at the focal point. Such a focal point gathers immense energy, which can increase the temperature above the ignition point and cause burning!

Chu Ge thought, this Refraction Mirror is likely a convex lens, naturally formed, possessing even greater energy.

"What kind of place is this? It wasn’t like this before," the Old Gang Leader said, frustrated with hands on hips, looking around. Nothing seemed unusual, but suddenly there would be a fireball, a ghostly situation indeed.

"It seems these Refraction Mirrors aren’t naturally formed."

Chu Ge spoke, sweeping his gaze around, then continued, "That explains it. Wei Yongxiang and I are from the same era, so he also understands the principle of convex lenses. Plus, with the volcano here, the temperature is already higher than usual, making the ignition point not that hard to reach."

The Old Gang Leader, not understanding what Chu Ge was saying, scratched his head puzzled, "Chu Ge, what are you talking about? I don’t understand a word."

Chu Ge came back to his senses, smiled, and explained, "It’s nothing. I just figured out how the fireball forms."

"Now that you know, is there a solution?" The sudden appearance of fireballs, no matter how quick his reactions, he couldn’t withstand many of them.

Besides, he’s quite old now, not wanting to exert himself too much. If there’s a solution, that would be best.

Chu Ge shook his head, extinguishing the little hope the Old Gang Leader had just born.

He sighed, "We must rely on ourselves and move cautiously."

Chu Ge looked puzzled, not understanding why he suddenly said that. The two carefully moved forward. As the Old Gang Leader thought, fireballs occasionally appeared, but luckily, their martial arts protected them; otherwise, they wouldn’t have dodged them.

With increased vigilance, their keen alertness improved significantly.

Chu Ge thought they could use the fireballs to determine where the Refraction Mirrors were, much simpler than searching with the naked eye.

He shared this idea with the Old Gang Leader, who showed resistance. Using their bodies as guinea pigs to provoke fireballs? Chu Ge might be crazy, but he wasn’t!

"I’m too old to withstand that!" the Old Gang Leader muttered.

"Old Gang Leader, don’t play tricks with me. While I haven’t experienced your martial arts fully, dealing with these fireballs should be easy for you, right? Or are you no longer interested in finding the Time-Space Gate?"

Chu Ge always felt the Old Gang Leader was acting strange today, unenthusiastic about anything.

No, to be precise, he showed no interest in finding the Time-Space Gate!

The Old Gang Leader lightly coughed, not daring to meet Chu Ge’s eyes, which seemed to pierce through his thoughts.

But the more the Old Gang Leader avoided, the more Chu Ge felt he was hiding something. Suspicious, Chu Ge asked, "Old Gang Leader, is there something you can’t say?"

The Old Gang Leader awkwardly touched his nose, "What are you talking about? I have no secrets. Didn’t you say we should use the fireballs to find the Refraction Mirrors? Let’s hurry; we must find them before the sun sets."

Chu Ge looked up at the sky, slightly furrowing his brows. Time indeed flies!
