The Old Gang Leader let out a long sigh, then suddenly snapped back, "Hey, why am I telling you all this now? It’s not the right time. Let’s head to the island."

Chu Ge nodded, casting a glance around at the patrolling soldiers, who hadn’t noticed the two of them.

"Let’s go behind the rock."

Chu Ge was about to take to the air, but the position they were in was right under the bright camp lights. If they suddenly flew up, it would definitely cause a commotion, and what would happen then was hard to say.

Behind the rock, the Old Gang Leader rubbed his hands together, a bit eager.

Seeing the Old Gang Leader so excited, Chu Ge couldn’t help but find it curious, "Old Gang Leader, you seem really excited."

"Of course, it’s not every day you get to see the Time-Space Gate again. How could I not be excited."

Chu Ge chuckled and shook his head. Sometimes he really thought of the Old Gang Leader as a playful old kid, full of mischief.

"You better hold on tight."

Chu Ge knew the Old Gang Leader could actually fly himself; he just wanted to slack off and have Chu Ge carry him. These things didn’t matter to Chu Ge at all.

"Old Gang Leader, be careful, let’s go!"

...

Feng Luo didn’t know the Old Gang Leader and Chu Ge had gone to Gourd Island together. After she ate, she returned to her tent to rest but grew bored, so she went out to look for them to play, only to find no trace of them.

"Where did the Old Gang Leader and Chu Ge go?" Feng Luo couldn’t help but mutter. Before coming, Luo Qi had told her that the Old Gang Leader and Chu Ge actually had another purpose here, surely they went to do something!

Humph! These two, and they didn’t take her with them! So inconsiderate!

Feng Luo thought angrily as she walked, growing more irritated until she couldn’t resist kicking a small stone hard.

"Ouch!" came a sudden cry of pain, "Damn it, who is it! Who’s so blind!"

Feng Luo looked up to see the soldier who had tried to bully them during the day, clutching his forehead and cursing. When he saw Feng Luo, he sneered lightly, "Oh, I was wondering who it was, turns out it’s Miss Feng Luo."

The soldier stood up, dusted off, and swaggered up to Feng Luo, "I was foolish not recognizing Miss Feng Luo from the Beggar Gang during the day."

Feng Luo kept a cold face, "So what if I am?"

"It’s nothing. I just think those Three Baptisms need to be done properly; otherwise, if Miss Feng Luo gets contaminated by the bad luck in this camp, that would be terrible."

Feng Luo sneered, "Are you saying there’s bad luck in this camp?"

"Hehe, Miss Feng Luo, I know you’re quick-witted. Some things I can’t argue with you about. I’ll just say one thing: the bad luck in this camp wasn’t produced here; it was brought in by your Beggar Gang members. Otherwise, why would the Three Baptisms only be given to your gang?"

Feng Luo chuckled lightly and said with disdain, "You just said I was glib-tongued, but now I think your tongue is pretty slick too. You must frequently brown-nose your boss, huh?"

"Hmph! That’s none of your concern." The soldier touched the spot where the stone had hit, "But let’s not talk about far-off matters, let’s discuss the fact that you hit my head with a stone. Miss Feng Luo, you surely can’t act as if nothing happened?"

"Oh, so you were the one the stone hit?" Feng Luo crossed her arms, pretending to be oblivious, and said, "I was aiming at a dog, but the stone was so obedient it really hit a dog."

"Who are you calling a dog!" the soldier glared angrily at Feng Luo.

"You get angry at a casual remark? Tsk tsk, you’re really not very fun to tease." Feng Luo pouted, "It’s quite restless at night, always hearing dogs barking, never mind, I better go back to rest to avoid getting bitten by a dog, it wouldn’t be worth it."

With that, Feng Luo turned to leave, but her words completely infuriated the soldier, who stepped forward, roughly grabbing Feng Luo and yanking her back, "You stop right there! I called you Miss Feng Luo, and you really think I’m trying to flatter you?"

Feng Luo tried to break free, but his grip was strong, and she couldn’t get loose, "Let me go!"

"Let you go? Okay, but you have to pay up first! You just hit the back of my head with a stone, you see it’s got a bump, if you don’t pay, you’re not going anywhere!"

Feng Luo pressed her lips tightly, "How much do you want?"

The soldier didn’t expect Feng Luo to be so agreeable, but thinking about it, he realized after all, they were in the camp now, not at their Beggar Gang Old Mansion, and it made sense for her to be more restrained.

"Not much, just five silver taels!" the soldier held out a hand, waving it in front of Feng Luo.

Feng Luo’s lips curled into a sly smile and she nodded gently, "Alright, you want five silver taels, I can give it to you, but you have to let me go first."

The soldier was skeptical. He found out after asking around that she was Miss Feng Luo of the Beggar Gang, known for her cunning tricks. Now that she agreed so easily to pay up, it made him uneasy.

"What? You don’t believe me?" Feng Luo noticed the hesitation in his eyes, "You want money and don’t trust me, how can this deal be done?"

The soldier swallowed nervously; letting her go, what’s the big deal? Anyway, this was his turf, and surrounded by his men, even if she wanted to run, where could she go?

"Alright, I’ll let you go, but you better behave and not trick me."

Feng Luo chuckled lightly, "What tricks could I pull? I’m in your hands, and you people all look so fierce, a little girl like me is scared. I don’t have anything else, but I do have five silver taels. Let me go, and I’ll get it for you."

The soldier was persuaded and unconsciously loosened his grip.

With her freedom restored, Feng Luo stepped back, pretending to reach into her pocket, then clenched her fist and held it out to the soldier.

"Here, the money you want is right here." Feng Luo smirked, "I have the guts to give it to you, but do you have the guts to take it?"

"What do you mean?" The soldier was puzzled, wanting to see if there was really silver in Feng Luo’s hand, but then his vision went dark as a wave of pain spread from his eyes.

"Ouch, it hurts like hell! Damn it! Brothers, grab Feng Luo for me!"

Feng Luo had punched the soldier hard in the eye. Even if he wasn’t blind, he’d surely have panda eyes now.

"I asked you just now, I have the courage to give my silver, but do you have the guts to take it?" Feng Luo sneered lightly, "Our Daye Country pays salaries to feed you bullies, but it’s all for nothing! This country is bound to fall at your hands sooner or later!"
