Feng Luo was still upset. She angrily glared at the Old Gang Leader, saying, "Old Gang Leader, why are you so timid right now?"

She stomped her foot in frustration.

The Old Gang Leader, however, smiled and patted her shoulder, saying, "Ah, you, you’re still young. If you discipline them now, what’s the point? You have to wait until the real person in charge gets here first."

Feng Luo was puzzled, "What do you mean by that?"

"If you cause trouble for them when you just arrived and their real leader isn’t here yet, the one who ends up suffering could be us."

The Old Gang Leader lowered his voice and said, "Consider how the Three Baptisms have been around for so many years. Do the officials above not know? Maybe the Prince doesn’t know, but the people below, they all turn a blind eye. If we clash with them now, the officials above will protect them, not us!"

Feng Luo felt the Old Gang Leader made some sense, so she went silent, though feeling stifled inside. She glared at the Old Gang Leader angrily and said, "Old Gang Leader, you just keep making excuses for the Prince! He’s probably pretending not to know even if he does!"

"Although I’ve been fighting with the Prince until now, I still understand his character. Don’t worry, when he arrives, I’ll have a chance to talk to him, and then you’ll see."

The Old Gang Leader said with a smile.

Feng Luo looked at the Old Gang Leader, feeling somewhat angry as he didn’t think of his own people, "Old Gang Leader, you’re biased! You view the Prince as your friend, but what about others? Others don’t see you as a friend!"

"Hey, you girl, are you still not done talking?"

"I’m still angry! Old Gang Leader, I’m telling you, although privately you often tell our people not to take it seriously, some don’t think that way. Look at the atmosphere in this military camp, and the Three Baptisms, who do they bully? They openly bully us!"

"Alright, alright, I know there’s resentment in you, but now is not the time for you to vent. Hold it in for now. We’ll keep track of these matters and settle them later, with interest!"

The Old Gang Leader’s words ended with a hint of harshness, indicating he was determined to settle accounts with the Prince.

Chu Ge didn’t speak the whole time, listening to the Old Gang Leader’s words. He knew that the Old Gang Leader was actually very angry too, but understood the need to prioritize the greater good and now wasn’t the time to settle scores.

He greatly admired the Old Gang Leader’s patience. If that old soldier had come straight to him with the Three Baptisms, he probably wouldn’t have been able to stand it and might have already started fighting with them.

"Old Gang Leader, let’s go inside. Up ahead is the military doctor’s tent," said the guiding soldier politely.

Chu Ge was curious, "Hey, little brother, when we came you immediately helped us and directly called him Old Gang Leader. Do you know him?"

He only guessed.

The little soldier smiled a bit awkwardly and nodded, "Before joining the army, I was also a Beggar Sect disciple. How could I not know the Old Gang Leader and Miss Feng Luo? But there are too many Beggar Sect disciples, the Old Gang Leader and Miss Feng Luo don’t know me."

"You’re a Beggar Sect disciple?" Feng Luo stepped forward in surprise, "Did you experience the same treatment when you joined the army?"

The little soldier shook his head, "To be honest, I’ve been transferred from another district. I used to be under General Li, but after a major reorganization of the camp, General Li was transferred under the Prince as Deputy General, so we followed."

Feng Luo nodded, "You’re lucky not to have been with Prince He Shuo from the start, otherwise how could you endure such humiliation?"

She couldn’t stand it! Not to mention actually doing it, just hearing them say she had to endure it made her angry!

"Miss Feng Luo, you may not know, but there are still quite a few Beggar Sect disciples in the camp. They’ve been able to endure these hardships because they have a strong will to serve the court. If the court lets them down, their hearts will grow cold."

"I didn’t realize you’re someone who understands the bigger picture,"

The Old Gang Leader nodded in approval, "But remember, in the camp, don’t talk about Beggar Sect disciples, in the military camp, we are all soldiers of the court. Don’t create factions or take sides, or you’ll invite trouble, understand?"

"I understand."

"This is the military tent. You just bring us here, then go rest."

The Old Gang Leader took the items from the soldier and said to him.

"Yes, Old Gang Leader, we’ll meet again."

"Yes, see you."

The items weren’t much, just a bundle each. As military doctors, the equipment was handed out together.

As soon as Chu Ge and the others entered the military tent, they heard a pitiful cry.

"Ouch, easy, easy..."

"Easy? If I go easy on you, can your injury heal? If I don’t apply medicine properly, your wound will get infected!"

"Doctor, can’t you be gentler? It really hurts."

Curious, Chu Ge walked closer and saw a person wearing a coarse white cloth holding a cotton cloth bag soaked with medicine, applying it to a wounded soldier.

Not to mention the incorrect posture of applying medicine, the surroundings were also poor. Although it’s hard to be picky when leading troops in battle, shouldn’t there at least be disinfection?

Chu Ge noticed the person was dirty and hadn’t even cleaned the person before pressing the medicine down, and not gently either. How could it not hurt?

"You should clean the wound with water before applying medicine."

Chu Ge hadn’t spoken yet when a voice beat him to it.

Feng Luo, with a cold face, looked at the doctor, questioning him.

"Who is this troublemaker? I’ve been practicing medicine for years; do I need you to teach me how to apply medicine?"

The doctor turned and glared at Feng Luo, noticing she was just a young girl, hesitating, "Who are you?"

When did they have a child in the military camp? Could she be a relative of a senior general? Then again, that seemed unlikely; this is a high-security military heavy ground, ordinary people can’t come in.

"I’m the new military doctor, Doctor, same position as you." Feng Luo smiled calmly at him.

"New military doctor?" The person was stunned, then turned to look at another busy person and asked, "Doctor Fu, do we have new Imperial Physicians here?"

"Not an Imperial Physician, I heard recruited from the common people." Doctor Fu said without turning his head, seemingly pounding medicine, the sound crisp.

"Heard an important figure from the Beggar Sect is here."
