The Arsenal King of The Slave World

Chapter 47 — Quiet Mornings and Hidden Truths

  • Next Chapter

Morning light filtered softly through the reinforced glass of the Armado.

For once, Ren did not wake at his usual early hour. When his eyes finally opened, the sun was already climbing and the cabin was filled with gentle warmth. Lyra lay half on top of him, completely naked, her soft big boobs pressed firmly against his bare chest. Her breathing was deep and even, silver-tipped brown hair spilled across his shoulder, and one wolf ear occasionally twitched in her sleep.

Ren’s hand moved almost on its own, slowly stroking through her hair and gently brushing the sensitive fur of her ears. Lyra made a small, content sound in her throat but did not wake immediately. He continued the soft caress for several quiet minutes, simply enjoying the rare peace.

Eventually her crimson eyes fluttered open. For a moment she looked disoriented, then a soft, sleepy smile curved her lips when she realized where she was. Ren leaned down and captured her mouth in a deep, unhurried kiss. Lyra responded instantly, arms sliding around his neck as she pressed herself closer.

When they finally parted, she rested her forehead against his.

“I like waking up like this,” she murmured.

“So do I,” Ren answered quietly. His fingers continued to play with one of her ears. “Once we finish what we need to do in Fenrisgard and clear the island… I want a real home. A place where you don’t have to dye your hair or hide. A place where we can live without constantly looking over our shoulders.”

Lyra’s tail gave a small, happy sway against his leg.

“And children?” she asked, a little shy but clearly hopeful.

Ren’s hand moved to rest on the small of her back.

“As many as you want. I’ll keep you safe and happy. That’s a promise.”

A faint blush colored her cheeks. After a moment of hesitation she spoke again, voice softer.

“When we’re alone… can I call you husband? Even if it still feels a little embarrassing.”

Ren’s lips curved in a rare, genuine smile.

“You can call me whatever you want when it’s just us.”

They stayed wrapped together a little longer before finally rising. A quick shared bath using heated water from the inventory left both of them clean and refreshed. By the time they dressed and stepped out of the room, Silvia was already waiting in the corridor.

The moment her violet eyes landed on them, a faint pink tinged her cheeks. She looked away almost immediately, schooling her expression back into its usual cool mask, but the brief crack in her composure was impossible to miss.

“Good morning,” she said, voice carefully neutral.

“Morning,” Ren replied.

Lyra only smiled, a knowing glint in her crimson eyes that Silvia did not yet understand.

After a simple breakfast downstairs they left the inn and the town behind. They walked for some time until they were well beyond the sight of any possible watchers. Only then did Ren summon the Armado from his inventory. The black vehicle materialized on the dirt path. The three of them climbed in and continued the journey toward the Beast Nation of Fenrisgard.

As the days passed, a quiet routine settled over them.

Whenever they reached a town before nightfall they stayed at an inn. Ren and Lyra shared one room; Silvia took another. And every night the same pattern repeated: Ren and Lyra lost themselves in each other with little regard for volume, while on the other side of the wall Silvia pressed her ear to the wood and touched herself in secret, face burning, body trembling, the name she never spoke aloud during the day slipping from her lips in soft gasps. Lyra, with her keen wolf hearing, always noticed the quiet sounds of the Dark Elf’s pleasure. She never mentioned it to Ren. She simply held him tighter and sometimes let her own voice rise a little higher, as if answering the hidden presence next door.

On nights when they remained outside towns, they slept inside the Armado. The cool air of the climate control and the safety of the armored walls became familiar. Ren usually took the driver’s seat, Silvia the front passenger seat, and Lyra stretched across the rear bench.

The Armado made a tremendous difference in their speed. What would have been fifteen days to the border and another full week to the capital of Fenrisgard was reduced by nearly half. At most, ten more days of travel would bring them to the heart of the Beast Nation.

---

One night they camped far from any settlement. The Armado sat under a cluster of trees, silent and dark. Inside, all three slept.

Ren woke at his usual early hour, carefully extracted himself from the vehicle, and began his morning exercises a short distance away. The sky was still pale with the first light of dawn.

Inside the Armado, Lyra opened her eyes. For a moment she simply listened to Ren’s steady movements outside. Then she turned her head toward the front passenger seat.

Silvia’s breathing was too controlled for true sleep.

“I know you’re awake,” Lyra said quietly.

Silvia’s eyes opened. She turned her head slowly and met the wolf woman’s crimson gaze. For a few seconds neither spoke.

Then Lyra’s voice came again, calm but direct.

“Why do you do it?”

Silvia’s brow furrowed slightly. “Do what?”

“When we’re in the inns. When Ren and I are together.” Lyra’s ears angled forward. “You listen through the wall. And you touch yourself while you listen.”

The words landed like a physical blow.

Silvia’s entire body went rigid. Her violet eyes widened in pure shock. Color flooded her face so quickly and so deeply that she looked like a tomato. For a long moment she could not even speak. The carefully maintained mask of the experienced Dark Elf spy shattered completely under the sudden exposure.

She had been so careful. She had bitten her lips, muffled her breathing, waited until the noises next door were loud enough to cover her. She had never imagined that Lyra’s hearing could pick up the soft, shameful sounds she made on the other side of the wall.

Yet the wolf woman was looking at her with calm certainty, not accusation.

Silvia’s mouth opened, then closed again. The red in her cheeks only deepened. She turned her face away, silver-white hair falling forward as if she could hide behind it, but there was nowhere to escape inside the confined cabin of the Armado.

Outside, the sound of Ren’s steady training continued, completely unaware of the quiet storm that had just broken between the two women inside the vehicle.

Lyra simply waited, crimson eyes steady, for whatever answer the flustered Dark Elf would eventually manage to give.
