Chapter 90: Chapter 89: Snake Swarm Attack

In an instant, the water surface across the entire underground parking lot rippled.

SPLASH SPLASH.

Dense, muffled thuds echoed underwater. Countless figures covered in black scales emerged from the mud at the bottom, squeezed between vehicles, and slithered out from behind the load-bearing columns.

"HISS! SCREECH!"

The Big Black Snake Monster pointed its Bone Fork forward, its red vertical pupils locking onto the direction Han Ning had left.

"HISS HISS."

The murky, stagnant water churned, forming a turbulent undercurrent. A dense swarm of Black Snake Monsters, like a school of sharks that had caught the scent of blood, chased after Han Ning and Snow Cake.

Meanwhile, Han Ning and Snow Cake swam through the water.

Suddenly, Han Ning’s scalp tightened as an invisible chill crept up his spine.

"Snow Cake, do you feel that?"

"ROAR!" Snow Cake let out a low growl almost simultaneously, twisting its body in the water to look behind vigilantly.

Han Ning turned his head. Behind them, the relatively calm water surface was churning with abnormal waves. A murky wall of water over two meters high, as if pushed by a giant invisible hand, was bearing down on them at an astonishing speed.

Atop the wall of water, black silhouettes burst forth, baring their fangs and brandishing their claws. They were serpentine monsters covered in slippery black scales. Twisting their bodies, they unhinged their massive jaws filled with sharp fangs and thrashed madly, charging forward like a frenzied swarm of tadpoles desperately scrambling to be first. At a glance, there were no fewer than several hundred of them.

"HISS HISS HISS!"

At the same time, the water ahead and on both sides boiled as more Black Snake Monsters surged in from all directions. They gathered together, forming a massive encirclement.

Han Ning looked around and selected a direction where the density of the Black Snake Monsters was relatively sparse. He made a prompt decision. "Charge out!"

Unsure of their exact numbers, he decided to retreat while observing the situation. He reasoned that if they were just bluffing, he would come back and kill them all. His thick hind legs kicked forcefully in the water, and his speed abruptly increased. In his Molten Gold Battle Tiger state, layered with the Fish Gills Technique, his swimming speed in the water was no slower than those Black Snake Monsters.

"ROAR!"

Snow Cake followed closely behind. The Tri-Colored Crystal Scale on its forehead swirled with light as an invisible Spiritual Scream spread out first, attempting to deter the approaching snake pack.

But these Black Snake Monsters were entirely unafraid of death. Facing Snow Cake’s Spiritual Shock, the Black Snake Monsters in the front row paused slightly, but the ones in the back that weren’t hit lunged forward even more frantically. The Black Snake Monsters further away opened their mouths wide, aiming in Han Ning’s direction.

THWIP! THWIP! THWIP! THWIP!

Countless streams of thick, ink-like black venom shot toward them from all directions! The venom was highly corrosive. Wherever it passed, the water surface sizzled, emitting white smoke. The venom was simply too dense, pouring down like a torrential rainstorm.

SIZZLE SIZZLE SIZZLE!

With a thought from Han Ning, dozens of vines shot out, whipping rapidly into afterimages that blocked all the approaching venom.

While they were distracted defending against the poison, the massive wall of water behind them exploded with a BOOM!

A figure over six meters long shot forward like a torpedo, dragging a long white wake across the water’s surface. It charged straight at them at a speed far exceeding the other Black Snake Monsters. The terrifying sense of oppression hit them in the face like a physical tsunami!

He quickly calculated, "It’s too fast. With my speed in the water, I can’t shake it off."

Han Ning instantly made a judgment. He looked up and locked onto the ruins of a three-story building half-submerged in the water to his front right. The top of the ruins was no more than half a meter above the water.

"Go up," Han Ning growled. He kicked his legs in the water, and his entire body burst through the surface. Meanwhile, Snow Cake continuously flung out mud balls to help Han Ning block the flying black venom.

SPLASH!

Water sprayed everywhere as Han Ning landed steadily on the slippery, rubble-strewn roof.

Almost the instant he landed...

SWISH!

A highly concentrated streak of pitch-black venom shot past the exact spot where he had broken the surface, striking the building.

SIZZLE.

The hard concrete wall was corroded into a deep pit, billowing with white smoke. Immediately after, a relentless barrage followed.

THWIP THWIP THWIP THWIP!

Hundreds, even thousands of identical streams of venom shot out from the murky water below, covering the entire rooftop area where Han Ning stood. Han Ning continuously manipulated his vines to form a defensive wall, attempting to block the venomous downpour. However, the venom was simply too dense and widespread; even the vines couldn’t intercept it all. He constantly leaped and dodged, occasionally rolling tightly across the ground as he weaved through the gaps in the dense barrage of toxic arrows.

BOOM!

The water surface exploded. The Big Black Snake Monster had actually followed right behind, bursting out of the water. Pressing its serpentine tail against the building’s wall, its body moved nimbly across the structure’s surface. The massive snake rapidly slithered upwards in a spiral, raising the pale Bone Fork high in its hand. Unhinging its giant maw, it let out a silent roar and lunged straight at Han Ning’s face, accompanied by a foul gust of wind.

"ROAR!"

Seeing the Snake Monster slithering up the wall toward him, a fierce glint flashed in Han Ning’s eyes. He opened his tiger jaws, gathering golden flames in his throat.

Right at the moment the scorching breath was about to erupt, a faint black light flickered across the Big Black Snake Monster’s cold vertical pupils mid-pounce. Suddenly, Han Ning felt the blood flow throughout his entire body stagnate, causing the speed at which he gathered his Hot Breath to slow down for a fraction of a second.

By then, that massive Black Snake Monster had already slithered right up to him, thrusting its Bone Fork straight at Han Ning’s head.

"Get lost!" Han Ning shouted. Without another word, he raised his tiger claw and met the attack head-on, swatting at the incoming Bone Fork.

CLANG!!

The sound of metal clashing rang out as sparks flew in all directions.

"HISS-SCREECH!"

The Big Black Snake Monster’s body jolted violently. It clearly hadn’t expected Han Ning to unleash such terrifying strength. The overwhelming force transmitted through the Bone Fork left its arms completely numb. Its body stumbled backward uncontrollably before plunging into the water with a heavy SPLASH, sending up a massive spray of water.

In contrast, Han Ning only swayed slightly before standing firm. He shook his slightly numb tiger paw and looked down at the repelled Black Snake Monster Leader.

"Is that all the strength you have?"

That direct clash just now had allowed him to figure out his opponent’s true limits. The Big Black Snake Monster’s strength was inferior even to the Tuna from before. He immediately dropped the idea of retreating.

"This is perfect." Han Ning took a step forward, a vicious glint flashing in his eyes. "I’ll let you all become the nourishment for my breakthrough to Level 6. Snow Cake, handle the small fry."

"ROAR!!"

Han Ning let out an earth-shaking roar. Like the king of beasts, it echoed through the mountains and forests, sweeping in all directions.

SPLASH! SPLASH!

The dozens of Black Snake Monsters charging at the forefront collectively froze in their tracks.

Snow Cake took the opportunity to open its mouth wide.

WHOOSH!

A Tri-Colored Beam, as concentrated as physical matter, swept outward. Wherever the beam passed, whether it was the Black Snake Monsters trying to climb or the ones swimming on the surface, their bodies instantly dissolved like candles melted by intense heat.

With just a single strike, a small section of the waters below was cleared out.

[Druid Growth Progress +120, Current Level 5, 1851/2000]

[Three-Color Gemstone Crocodile Lizard Growth Progress +80, Current Level 5, 180/1500]

A warm current surged through him. He was only 149 points away from breaking through to Level 6.

"Excellent. Snow Cake, keep killing. Don’t stop."
