Chapter 54: Chapter 53: Beast Spirit

[Beast Form]: The Druid communicates with a Beast Spirit, guiding Natural Energy to temporarily reshape their flesh and blood, transforming into a Beast Form. After the transformation, they automatically comprehend the Talent and Skills of the transformed target. Their strength is linked to their own Level.

[Wild Blessing]: Releases a blessing from the wilderness for oneself or a target, enhancing a certain amount of Defense Power, Element resistance, and Spirit Resistance, while accelerating physical recovery and wound healing.

[Crazy Growth]: Consumes a massive amount of Spiritual Power to control plants within a certain range, causing them to undergo Crazy Growth. (Accelerated Growth is High Level; the usage method unlocks when the progress value reaches Perfection.)

Of the three Skills, only Crazy Growth did not provide an information flow for its release. The other two Skills poured the methods of Cultivation and release directly into Han Ning’s mind, as if he had been instantly enlightened.

[Talent: Earth’s Blessing]

[Earth’s Blessing]: The Earth Druid receives Earth’s Blessing. When releasing Skills related to plants, Earth, or Land Transformation Technique, the effects are enhanced. (Approximately 30%-40%)

Looking at the newly refreshed data, Han Ning closed his eyes again and quietly savored the feeling. The upper limit of his Spiritual Power had skyrocketed to fifty points. Between his muscles, he could clearly feel a surging sense of power.

"Wild Blessing is an enhancement Support Skill, and Crazy Growth can only be unlocked once the Skill Level of Accelerated Growth increases. So..." he thought.

His mind focused on the knowledge regarding Beast Transformation.

There were two ways to successfully complete the transformation.

The first was to face the target beast directly. During this process, one not only had to observe the other’s walking, sitting, and daily postures, but also continuously inject Natural Energy into the target’s body like making a mold to understand the essence of its form and Spirit. The advantage was that although the Cultivation time was long, the difficulty was low, and there was no danger.

The second method used the Earth as a bridge to communicate with the spirits of all living things. The Earth nurtured all beasts. After land-dwelling beasts died, their bones and souls mostly slumbered within the Earth. A Druid could borrow the Earth’s pulse to sense the Beast Spirit Marks branded in the cycle of nature.

Every time they communicated with a Beast Spirit and gained its approval, they could gather its form into a mark and store it in their Spiritual World. There was no limit to the number of Beast Spirit Marks, but switching forms required transformation time. As the Level of [Beast Form] increased, this process would be greatly shortened.

The time it took to cultivate using this method was uncertain, and the difficulty was unpredictable. It entirely depended on whether one could gain the approval of the Beast Spirit, which heavily relied on the Druid’s Spiritual nature.

Han Ning felt that with his current situation, he had little chance to live face-to-face with a powerful Land-dwelling Extraordinary Beast and imitate its form. He could only choose the second method.

While recalling the method to communicate with Beast Spirits, Han Ning left the dangerous area where he had hunted the Crocodile Lizard. He found a relatively safe clearing near the Biyun Resort.

"Snow Cake, keep watch for me. Don’t let any creature get close!"

"HISS!!" Snow Cake crouched in front of Han Ning, vigilantly observing the surroundings.

Han Ning sat on the ground and inserted his ten fingers into the soil, just as he had done when communicating with the Earth previously. He leaned his upper body down, his forehead lightly touching the Earth as he held his breath and concentrated.

"Release Natural Energy, connect with the Earth, and communicate with the Beast Spirits," Han Ning thought, silently chanting the ancient prayer originating from the depths of his soul. His Spirit and will acted like invisible roots, spreading deeper along his arms and forehead, attempting to touch the eternal pulse slumbering within the Earth’s layers.

SPLASH!

A torrential downpour began. Han Ning remained as still as a statue, letting the wind blow and the rain beat against him without moving an inch. Time quietly slipped by.

Suddenly, a deep, heavy Chaos Will carrying an inexplicable aura stirred, as if a slumbering behemoth had been awakened. In an instant, Han Ning’s Spirit Perception changed.

The surroundings were no longer a gloomy curtain of rain; a boundless void enveloped him.

Within this void, countless illusory halos of various sizes and shapes rose up. They hovered like stars. Some were shaped like galloping deer, agile and swift. Some resembled giant bears, as heavy and stable as mountains. Some cast shadows like cheetahs, their streamlined bodies full of explosive power. Others were strange and indiscernible, carrying the aura of the ancient wilderness.

All sorts of forms appeared—they were entirely the projections of powerful living beings that had once existed or currently existed upon this Earth. Beside each light and shadow, a simple introduction naturally emerged on a panel:

[Ironback Rock Bear - Level Cap: Level 15 - Talent: Earth Guardian (Physical Defense Enhancement)]

[Wind-Chasing Shadow Leopard - Level Cap: Level 18 - Talent: Swift Shadow (Burst Speed Enhancement)]

[Mire Poison Giant Lizard - Level Cap: Level 12 - Talent: Corrosive Poison Bite (Attack with Corrosive Poison)]

...

[Level Cap represents the highest value of the target creature’s strength during its lifetime.]

"I need to find a land-dwelling beast with relatively strong Spirit Resistance," he thought.

When exploring within the Fog Area, the top priority was the ability to resist those pervasive Spiritual Shocks; otherwise, he would start off weaker than those Fog Area monsters. Han Ning’s mind rapidly swept across these Beast Spirits, shuttling through and filtering the thousands of options.

Suddenly, the light and shadow in one area seemed to be swept aside by an invisible force. A massive beast silhouette revealed its formidable presence from within. It was impressively the form of a giant tiger.

It was not a physical entity. Its entire body was outlined by Dark Gold Energy, with rough yet majestic lines that contained an explosive sense of power. The most striking feature was the viscous golden luster flowing inside the skull of its enormous head.

[Molten Gold Battle Tiger (Phantom) - Level Cap: Level 25 - Talent: Molten Gold Eyes (Enhance Spirit Resistance/Spiritual Shock)]

"The highest limit is Level 25... higher than all the other Beast Spirits. This kind of creature was likely a top-tier predator on this Earth during its lifetime," he pondered. "Getting their acknowledgment will probably be very difficult, but I have to try!"

Han Ning’s mind shifted slightly. His Spirit transformed into an invisible tentacle, cautiously reaching toward the light and shadow of that Dark Gold Giant Tiger.

The moment Han Ning’s Spirit tentacle carefully touched the Dark Gold Tiger Shadow...

WHOOSH!

A peculiar attractive force came from within the tiger shadow, instantly dragging his entire Spirit and will inside. His field of vision abruptly changed.

Before his eyes was no longer the rainy ruins, but a vast, boundless primeval mountain forest. Towering ancient trees blotted out the sun and sky, and the air was filled with the scent of rotting fallen leaves.

He had turned into a tiger cub covered in golden-yellow fur.

"Who am I? Where am I?" he thought. Han Ning’s mind was a complete mess of chaos; he couldn’t remember anything.

Before he could think further, an intense feeling of hunger hit him. The severe starvation scraped at his stomach like a red-hot knife. At this moment, he noticed a crippled wild hare crouching in the grass ahead. He tried to move forward and hunt the hare.

The surrounding tall grass rustled, and over a dozen tall and massive wild wolves emerged from within. Rancid saliva dripped onto his head, and the putrid stench almost suffocated him.

"ROAR!!"

"AWOO!!"

He bared his milk teeth and let out a low growl, only to be met with even fiercer roars. His sharp claws dug deep trenches into the mud. His shoulder blade was pierced by a wild wolf’s sharp fangs, yet he bit down on the opponent’s throat like a madman, scalding, metallic blood flooding his mouth.
