The Apocalypse Strikes, I Became a Druid
Chapter 115 Multiple Upgrades
Frost-white cold air poured out, showing a tendency to gradually spread outward.
“Uncle Han?!” Catching sight of the white figure at the center of the ice, Xu Yinyin couldn’t help but exclaim, but her dad quickly covered her mouth.
“Mr. Han doesn’t look like he’s fighting anyone, does he?” Xu Ming said thoughtfully.
“It looks a bit like a skill breakthrough. Let’s stand further back and observe him. Don’t go over there.” Chairman Wu reached out to stop Lin Qianqian, who was about to step forward.
After everyone realized there were no enemies around Han Ning, they first breathed a sigh of relief, then their expressions turned to utter amazement. Stronger Awakened like Lin Qianqian and Vice President Zhao could even sense a piercing, oppressive aura continuously radiating from Han Ning.
“Has Mr. Han gotten stronger again? I really don’t know what level of power he’s reached now.” Vice President Zhao’s eyes reflected the snow-white scene, his expression complex.
Right now, Han Ning was at the most dangerous critical juncture of his integration.
The tearing at the level of his soul and the reconstruction of his body continuously tormented him. He felt like a lone boat in a raging storm, liable to be completely torn apart at any moment. Time seemed to stretch on endlessly.
He didn’t know how long had passed. Perhaps it was only a few minutes, but to everyone present—especially Han Ning—it felt as though they had lived through endless cycles of Reincarnation.
Finally, when the last trace of the violent cold current vanished, the plant phantom in his Spiritual World also completely disappeared without a trace. In its place was a flawless, pure white seed of light buried in his heart, shimmering with a faint halo.
HUM!
A strange buzzing sound, which only Han Ning himself could hear, rang out as if originating from the depths of his soul. The halo released by the seed continued to expand, forming a complex, frost-white mark of an ancient tree just beneath the skin over Han Ning’s heart. It was only the size of a fingernail, but its dense, ice-thorn-like branches were remarkably lifelike.
The instant the mark formed, it rapidly faded, completely sinking beneath Han Ning’s skin and disappearing.
THUD!
Almost at the exact moment the mark disappeared, Han Ning’s body, which had been tense to the limit, finally relaxed. He slumped heavily as if all his bones had been removed, his back crashing against the cold wall.
He hadn’t lost consciousness; in fact, his mind was exceptionally clear. Panting heavily, the bulging veins on his forehead and neck subsided, and his complexion gradually regained a healthy flush.
It felt as if a powerful pump had been installed in his heart. The newly condensed Seed of Life immediately began to work, continuously releasing a cold current rich in vitality and pumping it throughout his body.
A cool, soothing sensation spread across his scalp and brain. With each wash of the current, the Spiritual Power and Mental Power Han Ning had just depleted recovered a little.
[Seed of Life (Basic Level) successfully condensed!]
[Species: Cold Jade Camphor Tree]
[Spiritual Power limit increased by +20. Current: 12/100 (Human Form)]
[Mental Power limit increased by +0.5. Current: 2/3.5 (Human Form)]
[Seed of Life (Basic Level) Skill Level +20. Current: 20/2000]
[Seed of Life Characteristics:]
Cold Jade Spin: All plant-type offensive Skills gain a frost effect, forming a sharp Frost Storm that causes a certain degree of Wood Explosion and Frozen status to enemies hit.
Bathing in Dew: When releasing any plant-type healing Skills, a Cold Rain that nourishes all things will form, providing continuous Purification and healing to all friendly biological targets.
Cold Ice/Water Flow: When releasing plant-type physical offensive Skills, the physical form can temporarily transform into a Cold Ice/Water Flow form.
Cold/Water Resistance: Resistance to ice and Water Element attacks is increased.
Vitality Burst: The Seed of Life exists within the body and is rooted in the void, continuously extracting Spiritual Power to feed back to its host. This increases Spiritual Power recovery speed by approximately 35% (calculated based on current physical strength) and expands the upper limit of Spiritual Power.
“What are you all doing here?” Han Ning snapped back to reality and noticed the circle of people gathered in front of him.
“We were worried something happened to you. Do you not remember what just went on?” Seeing that Han Ning was fine, Lin Qianqian’s tightly knit brows relaxed.
“You were screaming so miserably just now, like a pig being slaughtered. We were worried about you, so we ran out to check,” Yu Na chimed in to explain.
“Thank you all for your concern.” Han Ning smiled. “Uh, I’m fine. You guys head back first. I still need to test a few things.”
“As long as you’re alright. Let’s all head back.” Chairman Wu’s eyes were still filled with shock. He glanced at the Ice Crystals beneath Han Ning and waved his arm to motion for everyone to return.
A few moments later.
“Is this… the effect of the Seed of Life?” Han Ning lowered his head and spread out his palms.
Beneath the skin of his palms, white veins faintly flickered, exuding an imperceptible chill. His gaze swept over the wall in front of him, and with a mere thought, he commanded his power.
“Vine Technique.”
WHOOSH!
Dozens of dark green vines instantly shot out from his sides.
A wave of cold air washed over the vines, and they immediately underwent a massive transformation. They were no longer dark green; instead, they were covered in complex and exquisite frost-white veins that shimmered with a cold, piercing glow. The originally sharp Wooden Thorns on the surface of the vines were now completely replaced by crystal-clear ice thorns.
The entire cluster of vines looked as if it were carved from Cold Jade, radiating a faint, visible mist of cold air. The temperature of the surrounding air dropped along with it. The falling raindrops condensed into tiny Ice Crystals as they approached.
With the change in form, the Spiritual Power consumption had increased by nearly a third compared to ordinary vines. At the same time, the Seed of Life in his heart constantly nourished him, replenishing his consumed Spiritual Power. Even though the consumption was greater, with the enhancement of the Seed of Life, his Spiritual Power also recovered rapidly.
“Go!”
With a thought, Han Ning locked onto a half-collapsed low wall made of red bricks near the water.
SWISH SWISH SWISH!
The vines covered in ice thorns shot forward, carrying a bone-piercing chill as they ruthlessly stabbed into the brick wall.
CRACK!
The main bodies of the vines easily pierced through the bricks and stones. The ice thorns on their surfaces flew off like a torrential rain of needles, going THWACK THWACK THWACK as they continued to shoot into the surrounding area. These ice thorns also penetrated the surface of the masonry.
The areas hit by the ice thorns condensed a thick layer of white frost at a speed visible to the naked eye, rapidly spreading out in all directions.
“Explode!”
As Han Ning shifted his thoughts again—
BANG!
The ice thorns embedded in the wall, along with the surrounding frozen brick and stone areas, exploded without warning. Ice shards mixed with crushed stone flew in all directions. Over a dozen bowl-sized craters were blasted into the surface of the hard brick wall.
The edges of the craters were covered with jagged ice shards, emitting wisps of white vapor. The destructive power was significantly stronger than normal Wooden Thorns. And that didn’t even account for the slowing effect that being Frozen would inflict on living targets.
“The power isn’t bad.” Han Ning nodded in satisfaction.
Next, he began to try activating another characteristic of the Seed of Life—the water form.
HUM!
The frost-white veins on the surface of some of the vines rapidly receded, and the ice thorns melted away. They transformed into water vines composed entirely of deep blue flowing water.
Rather than vines, they looked more like living creatures. These Water Flow form vines lost the sharpness of the ice thorns and the freezing power of the frost, but they became incredibly agile, writhing and twisting in the air as if they had a life of their own.
Furthermore, Han Ning felt that the effects of the Water Flow form went far beyond just this.
