Chapter 867 The Assurance

“So, you are finally showing your true self?” Blinken spoke with a grim look on his face. Even in his current situation, he had the confidence to tussle himself to a Victory. But, that was assuming, he didn’t have anything holding him down.

And, there were currently two people behind him. He obviously didn’t care about the white haired man, but the Chief, well, he indeed was not so likeable but let’s say he was planning to save his ass this time.

“Well, there is no point in hiding it now. I indeed am planning to do what you think of..” The tattooed man admitted with a smile on his face.

“Are you sure you have the ability to do that?” Blinken asked as he stared at him.

“Why don’t you come and check for yourself. I am right here…” The man raised his hands horizontally taunting Blinken to make a move.

Blinken stared at the guy for a good while but didn’t move. He knew very well what could happen if he did move.

“What? Not gonna make any move after all that talk?” The tattooed man asked with a mocking look on his face.

“Why don’t you first ask your guys to move over to your side, probably a few hundred metres away?” Blinken asked with a smile.

“No matter how well we hide, something is really odd about you guys who manage to locate us. It’s really an interesting technique..” The tattooed man spoke with a curious look in his eyes.

He obviously had no idea about energy and the same was for the people of the current era. Their understanding of energy was very basic, and the best they could do was train their body with its assistance, unlike Blinken who could wield it. Hence, it was easy for him to locate their presence even if they really hid themselves well.

With their whereabouts revealed, the two other guys showed themselves up.

Blinken was now surrounded. The cave was behind him, there were two people to his either side, and the tattooed man in front. If he left the entrance unguarded. Then the guys inside would be at these people’s mercy in their current condition.

“Look at him now, seems very different from the guy we initially met..” One of the guys said to Blinken as he laughed. They were obviously trying to taunt him into making a move.

“Yeah, very different. I killed one of your guys after all. Did you see his pathetic death?” Blinken asked with a smile, and their faces immediately hardened.

“Y-You b*stard!” The guy to the right clenched his fist while grinding his teeth in anger. It seemed he was about to lose himself in anger.

“Don’t let your anger get the best of you. He is trying to get you to him..” The tattooed man suddenly spoke with a dark look on his face. They had been trying to taunt him, yet Blinken barely reacted. On the other hand, one sentence from him, and they had almost lost to him.

“Come on? You’re gonna be such a coward? Not gonna avenge your friend? I am sure that guy would be turning in his grave if he were to witness your cowardly actions.” Blinken let out a smirk on his face when his expression changed as he suddenly seemed to have realised something, “Oops! My bad, I didn’t make a grave for him…some insects must be feeding on him..don’t worry he would decompose pretty soon..”

“All together!!” The tattooed man suddenly spoke, realising that the situation was looking bad for them. His teammates definitely would lose their calm which might be disadvantageous to them.

Hence, he decided to attack. With the three of them attacking together. There shouldn’t be much of a problem in dealing with Blinken who was thoroughly exhausted and injured at that too.

‘Tsk..he is smart..’ Blinken clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction as he slowly moved his leg, and with a step launched a side kick towards the guy coming from left.

The kick landed straight onto the guy’s arm who pulled it in time to block.

Simultaneously, Blinken raised his hand to guard the incoming punch, and succeeded in doing so. But, the next thing he knew was a kick from front landing straight on his chest, and sending him staggering back as a pain shot up his chest.

‘This fly..’ Blinken cursed as he raised his head to look at the tattooed man. He didn’t think he would be in this situation. It was clear that he had underestimated his opponents and their patience.

“Let’s finish him off..” The tattooed man spoke as he once again slowly took a step forward.

‘Where is Max? That b*stard told us not to worry about these people. And, yet I am in this situation. The first thing I do after surviving this is kick his ass..’ Blinken decided inwardly as he prepared himself for a bloody struggle of life and death.

“Aahh!!!”

But suddenly, a scream rang, and it surprised everyone.

The tattooed man immediately turned his head to look at the place where the scream of his teammate came from, but all he could see was a bloody trail which led to the bushes which still seemed to be shaking.

“Growl!”

‘Aahhh!!!”

Another scream erupted, and the tattooed man’s face changed, realising it was from his other teammate.

This time he turned his gaze at a lightning speed, and only caught a black shadow moving which seemed to disappear in the shades of the tree while his teammate seemed to be lying down there on the ground lifeless with sharp holes across his torso region, and blood dying the grass red.

“What’s going on? Is it you?” The tattooed man looked at Blinken with a frightened look on his face. But, Blinken was just as clueless as the man himself.

‘Hmmn..’ Suddenly, Blinken seemed to catch something. He noticed that the man’s shadow behind him was suddenly starting to morph and come up into some existence.

It only took a second before Blinken’s eyes turned serious when he realised that the shadow had actually taken the form of a beast thrice the man’s size.

“Growl!”

The man who had no idea about it, suddenly seemed to hear a strange noise beside his ear, and his figure immediately stiffened.

He slowly turned his body around, while grabbing the knife on his waist.

“Whoosh!”

Suddenly he turned around at full force stabbing the knife into the thing behind. But as soon as he turned his head, the next thing that came into this view was a wide mouth with sharp long teeth, and his vision soon turned dark as the mouth closed on him.
