Chapter 759 - Something Very Obvious
Chapter 759 – Something Very Obvious
"Where is this place?" Max asked as he looked at Naze. They had travelled to the outskirts of the city. And, even in that, it was the kind of area which was known for its bad names. Most of the criminals lurked in these kinds of places.
"Well, I think she should be here.." Naze muttered as he looked around as if trying to remember the route.
He had told Max that someone could help them in this situation, and hence, Max decided to meet with this person to see if it was true or not. But, now that he looked at Naze, it seemed that they were going uninvited.
"Here it is.." Naze's eyes lit up, and a smile appeared on his face. He led Max to one of the small run down lodge.
The old man at the reception looked at the two people, and didn't ask anything but just stated the price for the room. It was very cheap, and there wasn't any need for identification as well.
"We are here to meet someone.." Naze waved his hand.
"You can, but you better not mess around this place. We have been paying protection fees regularly. If you are familiar with this place, you know what it means.." The Old man warned them. Since the kind of people who stayed in such places were not usually clean, brawls broke out when someone came to meet them.
Naze nodded, and then he led Max as the two went upstairs.
"It's this one.." Naze looked at the door, and pushed it open even without a knock.
Max didn't know what to say to him about this. But, since he already did it, there was no use in telling him anything.
"Hmmn? There isn't anyone here…." Max asked with a frown as he walked around the room. It was a small room, and with a bed, a wardrobe and a small table and chair.
However, all of a sudden, a dangerous feeling enveloped Max, and a blood stench filled his nose. He immediately turned around in retreat, but was a step too late.
A leg suddenly smashed through the bathroom door behind, and hit square in Max's chest sending him flying through the room.
Max immediately flipped, and landed back on his feet as he stabilized himself. He then looked at his chest, and the surprise on his face was evident.
He couldn't help, but raise his head, and look at the girl wrapped in a towel standing in front of the broken door. Her hair was still wet as drops of water slid down her fair skin. It seemed that they had come at a very wrong time.
"Hmmn…you look better than last time.." Naze shamelessly stared at her thighs, and commented.
On the other side, Alina's face turned dark.
Yes, this girl was Alina Kaether. One of the Stars of Demon world, and could even be considered to be the successor of the Heavenly Demon.
Max on the other hand frowned. The girl seemed familiar to him, but he couldn't remember where he had seen her.
"What are you trying to do, you b*stard.." Alina's eyes flickered with a cautious look in them as shifted her eyes onto Max. "You rat!! Have you finally shown your true color and betrayed us!"
Since Naze was a human, it was very likely that he would betray the Demon's one day. And, to be honest, she thought that the day had come.
Max looked at Naze with a frown on his face.
How in hell was this girl going to help them? This clearly was an enemy, and for some reason, Max could feel a very dangerous feeling from her. He had know idea why it was so. The girl on the surface didn't seem to be so strong, but there was definitely a scary side to her.
"Is it over? Can we talk now?" Naze asked with a calm look on his face, and then just took a seat on the bed while both Max and Alina were still on guard.
"That guy there is not an enemy, he is someone who can help you," Naze suddenly said to Alina as he pointed at Max.
Those were the same words that he had said to Max earlier, and now he was saying the same to Alina.
Alina didn't react. Her eyes were still scanning the place as if she was looking for a way out of the place.
"We will kill you if you try to run away," Naze added with a smile, "To be honest, it will be a pity if you die. Why don't you just listen to us for once? Maybe you will change your mind, and you won't have to die.."
Alina snorted at him. She had never fully trusted this guy, but since he was always on the side of the Princess of Leyak Tribe, and was also trusted by the Elder council, she didn't have a choice but to think that he was on their side.
Hence, she had treated him in that manner, a guy who was on their side, but not a friend. After all, even if they were on one side, they still had their own factions. But, this really came as a surprise when he appeared with Max like that..
Should she consider this as his betrayal?
"You think you can kill me?" Alina asked as she looked at Naze.
"Well, if it's me, maybe not. But, if it's us?" Naze asked doubtfully as he pointed at Max.
The frown on Alina's face sure deepened on hearing that. Even she couldn't guarantee that she would be able to escape successfully if both Max and this b*stard attacked her together.
"Fine, I am willing to listen.." Alina nodded. For now she decided to buy time, and think her way out of this.
"Let me get dressed first.." Alina further stated as she looked at the two.
"Sure.." Naze spoke, and then opened the closet before browsing through her clothes. "Which one do you want? Oh my! You sure have some unique taste.."
"You b*stard! Stop going through my wardrobe!" Alina was infuriated.
"You don't expect me to allow you to move freely knowing well that you could pull out something and turn this situation around.." Naze looked at her as if she was an idiot.
"Wait! Then how am I going to change!"
"Of course in front of us…" Naze replied as if it was something very obvious.
