Chapter 682 - Three Spies
"I will be going as well." Axel looked at them with a calm look on his face. He was adamant on going. He knew that he was the one best suited for this job.
"Who will handle the team if you go?" Wilson asked with a frown.
"True, you guys need to win this one." Mr. Cool nodded as well.
Arcane had most of their follower members inside. It was very essential for them to win and earn a right to enter the cemetery and gain the Artifacts as well.
"We need three people in this case," Axel shook his head and then looked at Mr. Cool before continuing, "We can let you enter the Heaven Tribe or the Asura tribe, but we can't allow this guy in any of the two. Do you think he is well suited for that job there?"
Axel pointed at Wilson.
Everyone looked at him, and sure he wasn't the best choice for a work which requires silence and patience.
"I think we should let him stay in the Leyak Tribe. He will keep an eye on them and also on the Demon Princess. There is nothing wrong in being cautious here." Axel had a serious look on his face, "As for the other two Royal Tribes, I will go alongside this narcissist."
"It won't do. You are needed here." Mark shook his head. Axel was the mastermind behind all their plans. Without him, the team would suffer a great blow. "If we just need a third person, then I am willing to go."
Everyone looked at him.
Axel frowned as well. But, it wasn't like he couldn't understand the logic here.
"If there is no other problem, then I think it's decided." Max looked at them and no one raised any questions.
"Then be prepared. You guys will have to leave after the next event in Ishtar," Max said with a serious look on his face, and they nodded.
"What about you?" Axel asked, looking at Max and everybody's gaze turned towards him. They knew his job was over in Trinity.
"I will be leaving for Ocien soon." Max muttered as he looked at Wilson and his pupils constricted.
"Do you want me to pay anyone a visit?" He further asked him with a smile.
"Well, I don't mind if you do. But, leave somethings for me to settle," Wilson replied with a laugh.
With that, they slowly parted ways.
…
Max went ahead to meet with Melinda once before planning to leave in the next few days.
"You are not going to wait for the competition to end?" Melinda asked in surprise. She thought that he would stay for sure.
Max shook his head with a bitter smile on his face, "Only if I had so much liberty. But, I don't.."
Melinda just smiled looking at him. If it was earlier, then she would have treated it as a joke. But she didn't dare to do it anymore. She seemed to have gotten quite a bit of grasp on his capabilities after all.
"Is Lora well?" Max suddenly asked with an odd look on his face.
"Well, she is a strong girl. She would definitely be able to get back on her feet," Melind replied. But, there was still a worried look on her face.
"Is he going to recover?" She suddenly asked Max, and it really surprised him.
He wasn't a doctor after all. And, they were consulting the best ones on the Continent now. Hell, they had even asked the healer from Zen family to help.
"I am sure the Ancient Families had better people than we do."
Melinda's words were easy to understand. She had expected Max to seek help from the Ancient Families to treat Lear. And, yet there was no improvement in his health. That was really worrying her.
"His condition is not good." Max didn't hide it from her. He was sure that the doctors, even though they hadn't found out the cause, had told her the same.
"But.." He paused before looking at her with an utmost conviction in his eyes, "We won't let anything happen to him."
Melinda looked at him and then just let out a slight smile. She didn't know where his confidence was coming from. But, she was at least happy that Lear had friends who were willing to go to lengths for her.
"Then, I hope you succeed." She just gave him her best wishes, and then walked him out of the mansion.
…
Max, for the first time in a while, returned to the hotel that he had booked on the first day. It belonged to his own family.
When he reached the room, he saw that Elly was here as well.
"How did you know I was coming here?" He asked her with a smile on his face.
"I heard you were leaving soon." Elly looked at him.
"Well, my task here is done. So.." Max couldn't stay for a long time when he had so much left to do.
"When am I going to see you again?" She further asked him, and Max found himself lacking for answers. He himself wasn't sure about it.
Elly looked at him, and there was an odd silence in the room.
"To be honest, I was here just to ask you one thing before you leave. I hope you can answer that to me." She asked as she sat on the bed and looked at him.
Max stopped doing his work, and then looked at her.
"What are we now?" Her face had a smile on it, yet there didn't seem to be one on it as well.
'What are we?' Max asked himself. He always was indecisive, and just went with things as they came. But, what was the clear term here? What would he call their relationship?
He had made things clear with Lisa and Andriel. But, nothing like this had ever happened to her.
Was he going to let it be like that? If not, what did he feel?
