Chapter 679 - Two Conditions
"But, I have two conditions." Max wasn't going to agree unless she was going to agree to his conditions.
"What are they?" Beli asked with a serious face. She knew that this was going to be important. Judging from Max's expression, she could tell that the deal really might be determined with this.
"First, everything that you have told me until now. It had to be correct. If there is a lie in that, I am going to give you a chance to correct it now."
Beli's face twitched a bit. But, she didn't think she had told any lies. Well, she indeed had hid things. But that sure was another matter.
"Good, then.." Max nodded after seeing Beli maintain her silence. He had taken that as a positive reply.
"Secondly, I am sure you are aware about a creature called Typhon."
Beli's brows scrunched a bit as she nodded.
She indeed had heard of it. It was a creature of Absolute existence.
"I heard that it's skeleton was found years ago. And, Demons managed to retain 12 of its heads while humans gained the remaining 10."
"You are not going to ask me to hand over the heads, are you?" Beli asked with a shake of her head. "If yes, then I will have to ask you to return."
"No, I know that would be ridiculous." Max shook his head.
"Oh.." Beli looked at him with a curious look.
"I just want the Fire Poison made from the Fire Head of that Creature."
As soon as those words came out of his mouth, a frown emerged on Beli's face.
"You can't do it?" Max asked her. He was a bit nervous internally.
"If I had it, I would have obviously agreed to it." Beli shook her head with a frustrated look on her face, "But, I don't know where that Creature's Corpse is."
"You are the Princess of one of the three Royal Tribes. And, you still don't have any idea about it?" Max asked her with a frown.
"My Tribe isn't the blood of the current king. It's obvious they would try to cut any form of benefits to us," Beli replied.
Max could understand that as well.
"But, if I have to make a prediction, then I think the Heaven Tribe most probably is in possession of it." She added with a frown on her face.
Aside from the Leyak Tribe, the other two tribes were named, Heaven and Asura.
Max was a bit familiar with both the names. It came from the Asura King, Heaven. The one who ruled the Nether Realm in the upper Dimension.
"In that case, I want you to help me infiltrate these two tribes. And, provide every necessary support that you can."
There was no choice here. Lear's life was on line. Secondly, these two tribes were their main enemy. If they could collect intel on them, that would definitely add to their strength.
"Don't be ridiculous. You are just walking into a Lion's den," Beli retorted.
"We are mages, common animals like those are nothing to us." Max shook his head with a laugh.
"I can't risk my tribe's life on it. Is there any guarantee that your people when caught will not open their mouths?" Her worries were not wrong.
"Do you expect to play it safe while trying to switch sides?" Max shook his head, "Don't make me laugh. You are already treading on a thin line."
"Not to mention, I told you not to lie to me. The way you are presenting this situation tells me that even if the other two Royal tribes frame you with fake confessions from some other humans, you guys will be doomed."
"If that were the case, you should be dead by now."
Beli's face turned a bit dark.
They had a pillar supporting them. It was the Old Ancestor of their Tribe. But, even he was reaching the end of his life.
This was a reason that they weren't willing to attract too much attention and let the other two Royal Tribes know about it.
Otherwise, the Leyak Tribe's ruling family will surely be in big trouble.
"Think it over again, you are not in a position to negotiate with me. If this deal is called off, you will lose irrelevant of the fact whether the ones to emerge victorious in the war are the Demons or the Humans." Max didn't want to blackmail her, but he was just spitting out facts. Not to mention, he had to get his hands on the Flame Poison of the Typhon.
Beli looked at Max and then sighed. "I didn't want to do this, but you have left me with no option."
A frown immediately emerged on Max's face. And, he raised his guard.
"You don't need to act like that." She shook her head seeing that, and then suddenly got up before beckoning Max to follow her.
Max looked at her, and after a second decided to follow her in. They were in the middle of the Trinity. There were power figures all around here. He didn't think she had the guts to attack him here. And, even if she did, Max was sure he could survive until people were alerted.
Beli brought Max inside, and there was Naze present here as well.
"Have a seat," Beli calmly said and took a seat herself as well.
"Are you sure you want to do it here?" Naze asked with an odd look on his face and then turned his head to look at Max.
"Well, I am sure he can control himself."
Max suddenly felt a bit odd. He was having a bad feeling about this.
The next moment, Naze switched on the television in the room.
Footage began to play on the screen.
A person was tied to the chair with black bag over his face. A sleeve of his shirt was loosely hanging from his shoulder.
A frown immediately appeared on Max's face as he looked at the screen.
"Whoosh!"
The black bag was suddenly pulled out and the person's face was revealed.
The next moment, a silence immediately enveloped the room.
