Chapter 630 - The Night Before The Welcoming Party(2)
Lorenz Residence, Trinity.
The Night before the Welcoming Party…
Max arrived at the place. He was a bit nervous to be honest. He just hoped that Ander could be calm on listening the truth. If not, he would have to make a run for his life.
"Why are you here?" A voice sounded into Max's ear and the next moment, Ander appeared in front of him. It seemed that he was on the lookout and had noticed Max.
"Umn...I had something to talk about.." Max forced a smile on his face. He didn't dare to say it out right here.
A frown appeared on Ander's face. It was the middle of night, and he didn't think that Max had come to share good news with him.
"What is it?" He asked him with a serious look on his face.
"Can we change the place?" Max forced a smile on his face, looking at him. There were more than enough people guarding the place so it shouldn't be a problem to leave for a while.
….
The two of them arrived near a deserted alley on the outskirts of the district.
"Will you tell me what it is now?" Ander was getting a bit impatient now.
"There is a chance that someone from our side is mixed with the enemy." Max let it out, but didn't go straight onto the topic. He wanted to test out the waters first.
A frown appeared on Ander's face, "Who is this person? No matter who it is, such a person wouldn't be spared."
There was a chill in Ander's voice, he was dead serious. And, meant every word that he said here.
"Even if it is your son?" Max asked, looking at him.
Ander froze for a second on that sudden question. He didn't even seem to realize just what had struck him there.
It took him a while to get back to his senses. And, as soon as he did, his expression turned dark, "Is this some kind of joke?"
"No, it isn't."
"Bang!"
A terrifying pressure broke out from Ander's body and it all came crashing down on Max, who was standing right in front of him.
Max stood there with a frown, and a drop of sweat slid down his forehead. He was ready to run if needed. But, he wasn't foolish enough to try and fight a Grand Master Tier Mage. That was just ridiculous.
Ander looked at Max with a deep frown on his face. He was fine with anything, but people going for his family.
"It's the truth whether you like to believe it or not." Max insisted even as the pressure on him kept piling up. But unfortunately, it wasn't going to work in front of Max.
"You have done me a huge favor and that is the reason that you are still standing here. Leave before I lose my patience." Ander wasn't willing to listen to Max anymore. And, it was understandable, you just wouldn't believe a person whom you barely knew, that too when he was talking bad about your son.
"Are you sure you want to let it go like this? You will regret it later." Max shouted from behind, and Ander snapped as his aura came raging like a tide. He hadn't held back at all. Any normal person would have their faces planted against the ground in such a situation.
"Bang!"
Suddenly, another aura came out and clashed with Ander's aura cancelling each other out.
"You sure have fallen so low in anger to lash out at someone your kid's age.." A voice sounded from behind.
Max looked behind and found it to be someone familiar.
It was Roman.
Max could only sigh at this strange coincidence. Even though he was immune to pressure, Roman probably had no idea about it. And, Ander on the other hand increased the pressure because Max seemed to have handled the previous ones with ease. He just wanted to scare him away and had no intention of hurting him.
"I just came to have a look at my sweet heart, but who would have thought that I would stumble onto something like this." Roman looked at Max and then at Ander.
"I don't know what kind of intel you have got. But, I have full faith in my son. So, don't try to do anything funny. You don't want to see my bad side." Ander looked at Roman with those calm eyes of his before turning around to leave.
"Tsk…." Roman clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction before looking towards Max. He didn't think that Max would make baseless accusations. After all, he had helped them quite a bit and had provided them with some solid intel. There was no way for him to treat information from a guy like this to be false.
Not to mention, Roman wasn't facing his own child at one end of accusation. Hence, he was able to think reasonably here.
"How confident are you here?" Roman asked as he looked at Max.
"100 percent," Max replied with a calm look on his face.
This immediately made Roman's face turn a bit dark.
"My Lord, aren't you worried about your daughter getting caught in between this?" Max suddenly asked as he looked at him. It seemed he couldn't stay out of this any longer. He would have to perform some eye opening sessions for Ander.
"Hmph! I don't need to worry about it. I have trusted people on my side. There won't be anyone backstabbing us." Roman shook his head with a snort.
"I see…" Max nodded.
"How about this then? I will give you a chance to kick Lear out of your daughter's life." Max looked at him with a smile and Roman's eyes gleamed with interest. He certainly was willing to listen to it at least.
"Well, you got my interest. Go ahead, and spill it out." Roman looked at Max, waiting for him to talk.
An evil grin leaked out on Max's face.. He was going to make the best out of this situation for sure.
