Chapter 604 - A Pitiful Lisa
Aria stood in the trial room for a few minutes like a statue.
She felt that her brain had short circuited from the intense flow of some unbelievable information.
'Is this really true?' She muttered inwardly, as her expression changed. She herself had no idea what she was currently feeling to be honest.
There was a mirror right behind her, but she was too afraid to look at it. She had already made her resolve to move ahead, and this wasn't supposed to be happening.
'Lisa….so it really was like this..' She wondered since when it had developed to this point. She really didn't even seem to realize it or had just forced herself to ignore it..
'Things had actually gone official like this? She is his Fiancee now?'
But, in that case, why didn't she hear about it?
Lisa herself hadn't said anything about it at as well.
This made her frown. She didn't think whoever the two ladies were just lying or badmouthing Max for no reason. Not to mention, it was pointless to do so in a place like this.
But, the words that came next had truly shocked her.
Max was two timing! He was cheating! This really shook her to the core. She definitely didn't think Max to be a jerk like that.
But, the reasoning still stood strong that the two girls had no reason to lie in a place like this.
This left Aria with a frown on her face.
She probably couldn't sit quietly now until she cleared her doubts regarding the matter.
First of all, was it really all true?
And, if it was then how much of it?
"Gosh! How long are you going to take, Aria? Hurry up!" Lisa's voice pulled Aria out of her thoughts and she shook her head before trying the dress.
A few minutes later, she exited the trial room with a sour expression on her face.
"What's wrong? Was it the wrong size?" Lisa asked in confusion.
Aria looked at her, and just confronted her about it, "Is there anything going in between you and Max?"
Rias who was standing behind Lisa was shocked on that question, she felt that something was about to go down here. She had already heard that Lisa had actually pursed Max before. The incident had taken place when Max and Lisa's relationship was almost revealed due to Kain's slip. In the end, Max just said that Lisa had a one side crush on his but was turned down by him.
Even though Max had asked the people around to keep quiet, some sneaky prick had backstabbed him.
'Could it be that she is taking a stand for Elly?' Rias didn't know just what kind of friendship these people had. In the end, she thought that Elly must have said something to Aria about Lisa which had led up to this confrontation here today.
"W-Why are you asking something like that?" Lisa was really taken back when the question came out of nowhere. She really hadn't expected it. And, sweat immediately began to form on her forehead.
Earlier they didn't reveal their relationship because they had no plans of going through it. And, now they weren't willing to reveal their relationship because it was going to go against the societies norms.
And, Lisa was not sure whether to reveal it without the other two's consent.
"Just tell me the truth." Aria didn't say anything else. She just wanted to confirm if it was true or not. Because if it was, there was a possibilty that their other words might be true as well.
Seeing Lisa in an awkward situation, Rias couldn't just watching it any longer. Hence, she stepped up to help.
After all, the poor girl was rejected by her crush. It was already heartbreaking and embarrassing. Now you were even asking her stuff like that. She just sighed thinking about what would be going through Lisa's head in the current situation.
"She has nothing to do with him, Max has-"
"No, stop! It's fine, Rias." Lisa tried to shut her mouth, but both Aria and Rias were adamant on talking here.
"Am I only this much to you, Lisa? She is allowed to know it, but not me?" Aria looked at Lisa with a dejected expression her face.
"Huh?" Lisa was dumbfounded not expecting the situation to take an emotional turn like that.
But, there was nothing wrong with Aria being hurt by her behavior. They had been childhood friends, but Lisa was fine sharing secrets with a newly made friend and not her.
"It's not like that, Aria. It's just... it is something very embarassing," Lisa said with face which was pleading her not to ask about it.
Aria's expression seemed to have eased a bit when Rias poured a bucket of cold water on it.
"There is nothing embarrasing about it. I think you were very courgaeous. I really admire you for it," Rias said with an eyes which were shining with a comforting light. It clearly had those words 'You did well' plastered on them.
Rias then looked towards Aria, and said it in the end, "Max has already made it clear that it was a one side crush on Lisa's side. She had bravely confessed to him, but it didn't work."
Aria's eyes widened as she looked at Lisa, who had her face turned straight towards the ground. No one could see her face at all. It seemed she would burrow a hole through the ground just with her gaze.
Lisa's face had actually turned dark as she was once again reminded of that event. But, what was even worse was that Aria had to hear it.
Lisa really wanted to cry right now. She wondered what Aria was thinking about her. After all, there were times when she had supported her in pursuing Max.
It was really a stupid idea. If she knew that she would be in a situation like this, she might have done something different.
At least supported her from the shadows.
If Max knew about Lisa's thoughts right now, he would definitely have been terrified.
